HAROLD GIESBRECHT
Harold Jacob Giesbrecht passed away peacefully in St. Pierre Hospital on the morning of Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the age of 85.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty Giesbrecht (nee Braun), his children; son, Ross (Carmen) Giesbrecht and his daughter Lois (Harley) Hunt; his grandchildren: Lesley (Jason) Reimer, Robyn (Keith) Hooper, Stacey (Ben) Watts, and Spencer (Sarah) Hunt; great-grandchildren: Brielle Reimer, Payton, Mason and Seth Hooper, Drake and Reagen Watts, and Ella and Liam Hunt. Harold also leaves behind his two sisters, Evelyn Enns and Esther Enns, brother-in-law Ed (Mel) Braun, sister-in-law Lorraine (Wally) Pokrant and their families, as well as many dear family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Niverville Heritage Personal Care Home Inc. or Niverville United Church.
Visitation will be held at Word of Life Church in Niverville on Monday, January 28 at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment at the Niverville Heritage Cemetery.

Heinrich W. Penner
On Thursday January 24, 2013 at the age of 75 years, 3 months, 29 days, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Grandpa went home to be with the Lord. Heinrich W. Penner was born on September 26, 1937 to Jacob and Anna (nee Wall) Penner of Mexico. Heinrich was the eleventh of fifteen children.
He is survived by eleven children: Anne Goertzen (John), Mary Reddekopp (Dan), Susan Funk (Abe), Jake Penner (Anna), Henry Penner (Tina), Tina Friesen (Frank), John Penner, Judy Redekop (Peter), Margaret Friesen (Henry), Frank Penner (Tina), Elizabeth Penner, as well as 33 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Susana in 2010 and one son in infancy, his parents and ten siblings, three of which passed away in 2012.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at the Reinland Mennonite Church in Winkler with interment at the Church Cemetery in Schanzenfeld.

WALTER FRANCIS BRAUN
Walter passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. at Maplewood Manor in Steinbach, MB at the age of 94 years.
He is survived by his wife Justina (nee Isaac) and their four children: Dorothy, David, Kathryn and Phyllis.
There will be a wake at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Sunday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Monday, January 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kleefeld Church of God in Christ with interment at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

ANNE EVELYN POIRIER (Norberg)
It is with deep regret and sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Anne Poirier on January 25, 2013 at the Grace General Hospital.
Anne was born on July 16, 1938 in Menisino, Manitoba to the late Ludwig and Lorena Norberg. Anne is survived by sister Florence Kreitz (Norberg) as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Gaetan (Gay) Poirier. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
In accordance with Anne’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and no formal services will be held.

JOHN KRASNUIK
John Krasnuik passed away peacefully at the age of 94, on January 27, 2013. He was born on November 29, 1918 in Stuartburn, MB. John spent his early years in Sundown, MB and married Nettie Evankevich; they married, worked their farm and raised nine children.
John was a "one of a kind man" who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children; George (Shirley), Sonja, Luba, Elizabeth (Tom), Russell (Melodie), Theresa, Marilyn (Roger), Elaine (Garry), his sister Helen Balla, 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Borden (1989), his wife Nettie (2006), his parents William (1959) and Anne (1979), brothers Peter, Jack, Steve, Nick, Alex, Mike and sisters Nellie, Mary, Francis, and Jean.
A celebration of life will be held in late June 2013 in Steinbach, MB.

ANNE VERESTIUK
Anne Verestiuk passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in the Rest Haven Nursing Home on Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Anne was born October 24, 1929 in Trentham, MB. She then married her sweetheart, John Verestiuk, on November 24, 1945. Together they worked hard on the family farm. She was also a long time employee for Loewen Windows.
Anne was predeceased by her loving husband, John, her parents, Mary & Nick Osadchuk, sister Stella, and brother Paul, two brothers-in-law, Steve and Pete, and sister-in-law Anne.
She is survived by one daughter Jeanette (Steve) Ruta of Cooks Creek, two sons Allan of Fort McCloud, AB, and Randy (Valerie) of Mitchell; grandchildren: Natasha, Twighla, Kimberly, Jason, Kevin, Tammy, Jennifer, Kanaba, Enriqa, Caden and families; 12 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; three brothers and their wives, one sister, and two sisters-in-law and their families.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Friday, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarto. Interment at the Parish Cemetery.

KATIE PLETT
Katie Plett of Landmark, MB passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by one daughter, two sons and their families as well as by one brother and his family.
She was predeceased by her husband Alvin, three sisters, two brothers, one child in infancy and her parents.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Thursday, January 31 at 7:00 p.m. with at devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Prairie Rose Evangelical Mennonite Church in Landmark with interment at the church cemetery.

GUY LAMBERT
Peacefully with his family by his side, Guy Lambert passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the age of 79. He will be dearly missed by his daughter Elaine (Don) Gagnon, grandson Stephane (Cailin), granddaughter Melanie (Jesse), mother to his children Elise Lambert, son Ken (Laurie), granddaughter Jasmine (Chris), grandsons Bran-Lok and Tarl, four great-grandchildren, special friend Shirley Griffith, brother Gerry and sister Yvette.
In accordance to Guy’s wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013. A private family interment will follow at a later date.

AGATHA WOLFE
Agatha Wolfe (nee Sawatzky) passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Ste. Anne Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters: Betty (Ed) Hildebrand, Susan (Richard) Hildebrand, and Pat (Dave) Brandt, three sons: Dave (Connie), Frank, Darcy (friend Cheryl) and their families, and two sisters. Agatha was predeceased by her parents Ben and Agatha (nee Harder) and her loving husband Abe of 61 years who passed away in 2011 and three sisters and two brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson.
The funeral service for Agatha Wolfe (nee Sawatzky) was held Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Niverville Chortitzer Mennonite Church with burial at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville.

ISAAC “Ike” FEHR
On Friday February 1, 2013 Ike Fehr aged 67 years of Manigotagan, MB formerly of Ste. Anne and Winnipeg passed away.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene (nee Neufeld) Fehr of Winnipeg, one daughter, Laurie and husband, Andy Macintyre of Brantford, ON and his grandchildren, Allissa Fehr, Emily Macintyre, Lucas Macintyre, Jesse Fehr, Griffin Macintyre, Holly Macintyre, three sisters, Ann and John Friesen of Winkler, Helen and Harold Hamm of Winkler, Mary Fehr of Winnipeg, his godchild, Kaitlin Fehr, sister-in-law, Leona (Ron) Fehr of Winnipeg and one brother, Martin and Elizabeth Krahn of Enderby, BC and their families.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Cyndie Fehr in 2012, brother, Ron in 1999, parents, Isaac H and Anna Fehr.
Cremation will take place. A celebration of Ike’s life will take place at a later date.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John G. Reimer. He died peacefully at home on Saturday afternoon in the presence of his beloved wife, Hilda.
He was predeceased by his first wife Elsie and by his son David.
He will be remembered by Hilda, his children and their families, Dennis and Phyllis, Gerald and Lori, Audrey and Gerald Penner, Allan and Debra, Ron, Eileen and Victor Engbrecht, and Deb and Tim Rogalsky and Hilda’s children and their families, Kate and Con Isaac, Kurt and Leona Schwarz, and Kristine and Keith Friesen.
Funeral services for John G. Reimer were held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 7:00 p.m. at Heartland Community Church and on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Rose EMC both in Landmark. Interment at Prairie Rose EMC Cemetery.

Marguerite Boissinot, 84, of Ste. Anne, formerly of Middlebro, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at Villa Youville in Ste. Anne.
She was predeceased by her husband Paul in 1995.
Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of her life will take place with a funeral mass on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 1:00pm at Notre Dame de L’Assomption Catholic Church in South Junction. Interment to follow at the Middlebro Cemetery. A luncheon will follow after the interment at the Middlebro Hall.

Peacefully, on Monday February 4th 2013, our loving and devoted mother, Hélène Bédard (née Verrier) passed away after a short battle with cancer. Mom was born in Aubigny, MB on February 4th 1927 and moved with her family to La Broquerie at the age of 2 where she spent her entire life. After exactly 86 years, how special a birthday is the gift of eternal life…
Mom will be sadly missed by her children Denise (Jacques Tessier), Doris (Danny Stelmack), Raymond (Linda Johnson), Anne (Alain Nadeau) and Albert (Monique); 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mom also leaves to mourn her brothers Paul and Pierre (Rita), her sisters Yvonne Gosselin, Marie Duclos, Cécile Arnal, Pauline Piché, Claudette Bisson (Léandre), Rita Boulet and sisters-in-law Simone and Solange. She also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews of the Verrier and Bédard relatives.
Funeral services will be held at St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church in La Broquerie on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the parish cemetery.

Peacefully on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba at the age of 88.
Bernie was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Reimer, in 2007, his parents, Jacob and Susanna Doerksen of Clearbrook, B.C., and eight siblings.
He leaves behind two daughters: Beverly Dunne, Vancouver; and Joan (Harry) Fehr of Lake Riviera, MB; two grandsons: Sean Fehr (Janice Froese) of Cherry Hill (Steinbach), and Lee Fehr (Danielle Denis) of Vancouver; four great-granddaughters: Carollyne Kehler (Brad), Steinbach; Sarah Fehr, Victoria; Mercedes Fehr, Steinbach, and Jasmine Weiss, Kelowna, B.C.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister Martha Griffith (Ken), Sechelt, B.C., sisters and brothers-in-law Marian Nightingale, Lorna Ross, Tina and Joe Seminick, and many nieces and nephews, many friends, and The Royal Canadian Legion.
Funeral will take place at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10th, 2013. Officiating will be Reverend Susan Tillman. Interment at Clearsprings Cemetery on Cohoe Rd.
