Helen Friesen, 77 of Steinbach passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bethesda Hospital.She is survived by two daughters and one son. She was predeceased by her husband Diedrich U. Friesen, two sons in infancy and one son-in-law.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Friday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the chapel prior to the service.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Bernhard Rempel, 79, of Steinbach passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Bethesda Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Hiebert), one daughter, three sons and their families; two sisters, two brothers and their families. He was predeceased by his first wife Bertha (nee Neufeld).
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Monday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave. in Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

MARY KEHLER BARTEL
Peacefully, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, MB.
Mary was born on a farm near St. Jean, Manitoba to John and Helena Kehler on Nov. 21, 1914. At the age of 11 she moved with her family to a farm near Morden, where she grew up and had her education.
Our special thanks to the wonderful staff of the St. Adolphe Personal Care Home and Rest Haven for their loving care and support in the final years of her life.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.

GILLES JOSEPH VERMETTE
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gilles Vermette on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the age of 67.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by Monica Gillings (his significant other), his son Réjean Vermette (his mother, Simone Morin), and Jennie Williams (Colin) (who he helped raise); sisters and brothers Freda (Victor), Bernard (Beatrice), Eugene (Noelline), Roger (Jaqueline), Yves (Louise), Suzanne (Derek), Fleurette (Dan), Robert (Misty), as well his step children John (Christie), Edward (Robyn), Theresa (Bill) and their families, as well many nieces, nephews and friends, along with 17 grandchildren. Gilles was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Clarisse (née Richard) and baby brother Jean and brother Jean-Paul.
Gilles grew-up in Richer and was well known in the surrounding areas for his skills as a back-hoe operator, involvement in the community such as Minor Hockey and Curling. His big heart led him in later years to be involved with being a foster parent to five children who have grown to love him and cherish him. We all have great memories and will miss his one of a kind humor.
A celebration of life will take place at Ste-Anne Catholic Church on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.

Annie Klassen (nee Peters), 83, of Steinbach passed away at Bethesda Place in Steinbach on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
She is survived by her husband Abe A. Klassen, one daughter, two sons and their families as well as by five sisters, two brothers. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother,

JOHN ANDRUSIAK
It is with very heavy hearts that we the family, announce the passing of a truly unique and wonderful man, John Alexander Andrusiak of Sundown, MB. John was blessed with 82 years of life in which he took joy in so many different things. On Tuesday, February 12, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones, John went be with the Lord. His whole life was lived in Sundown, MB raising his family, then continuing to work with his sawmill, planer and garden. John also took great pride in the construction work he did for Highways in Manitoba and Ontario.
John was predeceased by his first wife Irene, daughter Darlene, brother Eli, sister Doris and his parents Alexa and Maria Andrusiak. John is survived by Shirley, his three children, Virginia (Jim), Donald (Serena), and Julian (Joy), his grandchildren Angie, Ben (Michelle), Miles, and Eddy, great-grandchildren Rebecca, Michael, Genevieve, and Ethan, his sisters Lena (Walter) and Eva (Nick), as well as many other extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Vita Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Menisino Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to Canadian Diabetes Association.

HELEN (BESTVATER) PETERS
Peacefully, during the quiet hour before dawn, Helen Peters passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 with her family by her side.
Mom is survived by her brothers Henry (Mary), Jac (Mary) and John (Shirley); sister-in-law Brigitte (Abe); sisters-in-law Nettie Krahn, Alvina Peters and Tina Peters; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1994, her infant sister Katherine in 1929, her sister-in-law Helen in 1998, and her brother Abe in 2006.
Donations in Mom’s memory may be made to the Red River Valley Health District Foundation or to the Morris United Church Memorial Fund.
The interment service at the Morris Cemetery was held on Friday, Feb. 15 followed by a memorial celebration at the Morris United Church.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sophie Lamaga (nee Kuz) on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at the age of 92. She is survived by her loving children, son Myron and daughter Pat, both of Hadashville, brothers Joseph Kuz of Winnipeg, MB, Nick Kuz of Hadashville, and sister Rose (and Lewis) Kovacs of Minneapolis, MN, granddaughter Lorraine (and Zemon) Forster of Humboldt, SK, grandson Daniel Lamaga, great-granddaughters Aurelie and Hanna and great-grandson Tristen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Anna Kuz, husband Mike and daughter-in-law Louise Lamaga.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Hadashville Recreation Hall, Hadashville, MB with viewing one hour prior to the service.

LILY PENNER WIEBE
Mother passed away at the Maplewood Manor on February 21, 2013 at the age of 81 years.
She is survived by her children; Joann Wiebe, Calgary, AB; Bonnie (Garry) Barkman, Creston, BC; Edward (Linda) Wiebe, Marchand, MB; Allan Wiebe, Steinbach, MB; Michelle (Harold) Schmidt, DeRidder, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brothers Alvin, Leo, and sister Rosa. Mom will be missed by a special nephew, Pat and Cammie Wohlgemuth and family. She was predeceased by her husband Jake in 2006.
The Funeral Service was held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Steinbach Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Interment has taken place at the Steinbach Heritage Cemetery.

HENRY A. SCHELLENBERG
At 11:35 a.m. on February 20th, 2013 Henry went to be with the Lord. His sons Andrew and Matthew (and wife Maddy) and I (his wife Jocelyne) were together for his last breath which was a gentle sigh. He left us in a moment of gentleness that is a picture of the way in which he lived his life.
He loved his sisters: Mary and Martha (Wally Wicha); brothers John (Kathy), Joe, Gene, and his mother Mary (predeceased by father Henry). He is a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A private family interment service will occur. There will be a public viewing between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, 2013 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach for those who would like this closure. The family will not be present.

Margaret Fehr of Grunthal, MB passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
She is survived by four daughters, three sons and their families; as well as three sisters, two brothers. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, sons Henry, Clifford and granddaughter Twyla.

Helen Klassen passed away very peacefully on February 26, 2013, at the Menno Home in Grunthal at the age of 87.
Helen is survived by two brothers and their families: Adolf and Mary Klassen, and Herman and Edna Klassen; two sisters and their families: Mary and John Dyck and Hermina and Peter Friesen; two sisters-in-law: Gertrude Klassen and Elva and Ken Belog.
Helen was predeceased by her parents Peter D. and Helena Klassen, sister Tina (Diedrich) Warkentin, brothers Peter Klassen and John Klassen.
The funeral service for Helen will be held at the Elim Mennonite Church, Grunthal, on Saturday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the Grunthal Cemetery.
