Gurty Sonnichsen (nee Boivin), 89 of Kleefeld, formerly of Headingly, MB passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Menno Home in Grunthal.
She is survived by two daughters, four sons, two sisters, one brother and their families.
She was predeceased by her husband Helmut.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kleefeld EMC Church with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Headingly, MB.

Peter W. Wiebe of Steinbach passed away at his residence on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his wife Lavera, two sons and their families. He was predeceased by one sister.

Charlene Bonnie Friesen of Grunthal, MB passed away at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the age of 42 years.
She is survived by her mother Theresa Kis, two sisters and their families. She was predeceased by her father Cornie W. Friesen.
A Celebration of Charlene’s Life will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Saturday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Mary Driedger of Grunthal, MB passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the age of 76.
She is survived by four daughters, one son and their families as well as by one sister.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Driedger in 2011.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal with viewing at the church prior to the service. Interment at the Grunthal Cemetery.

STANLEY PESTRAK
Suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at the Victoria General Hospital, Stanley Pestrak passed away. He was in his 80th year and was predeceased by his wife Ruby. He will be sadly missed by his sons Troy (Sandy), Trent (Dodi) and his grandchildren Jesse, Shelby, Steven, Avery, Brody, and great granddaughter Marlee. Also surviving are brother Jim (Margaret) Pestrak, sister Chris (Art) Singbeil, sister-in-law Evelyn Pestrak and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.

LINDA BROESKY (nee LOEPPKY)
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, and with family at her side she passed away peacefully of a heart failure on Tuesday August 6th, 2013 at the Health Science Center at the age of 76.
She is survived by her husband Jacob Pries Broesky, two sons Kenneth and Melvin (Linda) two daughters Eleanor and Sheila (Rick), and by grandchildren Marcel, Nathan (Ireshe), Donavan (Sabrina), Terrence (Melissa), Lindsey (Gary), Alisha, Ryan, and Kristen. Great grandchildren, Justice, Lyndon, Ashia, Nevan, Trinity, and Kolton. Two daughter in laws Barb (Kelvin) and Silver.
Viewing was held on Monday Aug.12, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Steinbach at 465 Henry Street. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 1:00 pm in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, with internment in the the Otterburne West Cemetery.

BILL BORDUN
Bill Bordun, 79 of Sundown, passed away after a brief illness on August 9, 2013 at DeSalaberry District Hospital in St. Pierre. He is survived by his partner, Judy Reimer, 2 daughters Elaine (Raymond) Hildebrandt and Susan Bordun (Randy Hirschfield) and their children, 2 sisters, Lillian Kutzak and Diane Horobec and their families. He was predeceased by 1 brother, 1 sister and 1 son.
Bill resided in Sundown all his life and was the owner and operator of Bordun Trucking Ltd. During ‘retirement’ he still hauled gravel to customers and did so just 6 weeks before his passing. He enjoyed yearly trips to Montana to hunt elk.
The funeral service was held on August 13 at Green Ridge United Church with interment in the Church cemetery.

ADRIENNE (Croteau) DETILLIEUX
Adrienne Detillieux passed away peacefully on Saturday August 10th after a long, courageous battle with illness. She is survived by her children Lucille (Victor) Granger, Hervé, Claude (Janet), Gérald, Gisèle (Marc) Maynard, Gilbert (Laura), Gilles (Karen), Fernand (Krista); 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Jean-Baptiste, her parents Arthur and Délina (Michaud) Croteau, one brother Lionel, and one son in infancy Jean-Paul.
Adrienne will be fondly remembered and cherished as a loving mother, devoted to her family and her faith, always full of love and able to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, especially the pleasure of her family's company.

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow the family of Metro (Matt) Drewniak announces his passing. He is survived by his two beloved sons Danny (Leslie), David, their mother Marlene, brothers Bill (Luba), Maurice (Josephine), mother-in-law Edna Boychuk, sisters-in-law Gladys Wyatt, Gladys Drewniak, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Matt was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Drewniak, brothers Joseph, Peter and father-in-law Nick M Boychuk.
In compliance with Matt’s written wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Gardenton, Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow lunch at Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox parish cemetery in Arbakka.
We gratefully acknowledge the wonderful care he received at Pine Falls-Powerview Health Centre, visits from Fr. and Mrs Naherniak, friends and family. God bless you all. .
YVONNE LAGASSÉ (née DUSABLON)
On Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, Yvonne Lagassé passed away at Action Marguerit Saint-Boniface (Tache Centre).
She leaves to mourn her sister Irène, sisters-in-law Éva and Marie-Jeanne, her children: Cécile (Lionel) Perreault, Marcel (Lyn), Pierre (Gisèle), Margo (Klaus) Weiner, Léo (Jasmine), Roger (Denise) and numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Aimé, her brother Heldège, her sister Simone and extended family.
Yvonne's life was celebrated during a prayer vigil in Desjardins Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 in the Sainte-Anne-des-Chênes Roman-Catholic Church. The Mass will be preceded by a presentation and eulogy at 1:30 p.m.

On the morning of August 11th 2013, Andrew peacefully passed away with his wife by his side at Whispering Pines Lodge Personal Care Home in Vita, Manitoba. Andy was 86 years old. Andrew was born April 20 1927 In Caliento, Manitoba. Andrew was the youngest child of John and Mary Melnychuk nee (Bodnarchuk). Andy was the baby of 9 children growing up in Caliento, Manitoba. He was the last surviving member of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. On November 24 1951 Andrew married Sophie Shuwera. Andy and Sophie started a family in 1952 when a son was born (Emil).
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday August 15 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at Vita Funeral Home. Funeral Services to be held Friday August 16 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Ascension of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church Sundown, Manitoba. Lunch to follow at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall in Sundown.
