Jeanette Irene Wydra
April 15th, 1950 – January 20th, 2014
With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of our cherished wife, sister, mother and grandmother. On January 20th, 2014 Jeanette suddenly passed away at the Swan River General Hospital in Swan River, Manitoba at the age of 63.
Jeanette had many interests in her life but her world primarily revolved around her family. She leaves her life’s memories with her loving husband of 44 years, Henryk Antoni Wydra, her son Timothy (Larisa), her daughter Terrylynn (Dennis), and her two beloved grandchildren Michael and Matthew who will continue to deeply miss the love of their “Thompson Grandma”. The loss of Jeanette will also be felt by all her friends and the Stadnick family, which includes her two brothers Joe and Larry, her sister Judy, and all her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jeanette will be best remembered by her generosity as she took great comfort in being able to help others. It was very common to find her engaging in many of her life’s joys including spending hours talking to her children and grandchildren on the phone and cooking the best Ukrainian food recipes that she learned from her grandma Stadnick, who raised her to be a wonderful person. Anyone who met Jeanette knew that she shared her deep love for animals with her husband. They enjoyed always having their pets close by and would often pick names for the farm animals that they raised, which is representative of her kind and respectful nature towards all living beings.
Many hours were spent traveling with her husband between Thompson, Swan River, and Winnipeg listening to some of Jeanette’s favorite music from The Ukrainian Old Timers, Elvis, and Pavarotti. When she wasn’t tending to her flowers and growing the best Jalapeño Peppers, she would be reading Archie comic books, completing word search puzzles, collecting limited edition teddy bears, tins, and Walt Disney movies, cheering for her favorite hockey team The Montreal Canadiens, and giving her husband the most painful foot rubs known to humankind.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Jeanette also managed to have a successful career applying her bookkeeping education to several roles. The most notable of which was as a tax preparer for H&R; Block, a Winnipeg Free Press Agency Owner, and most recently dedicating the past 20 years to Thompson Cabs as their office manager and bookkeeper. Given her generous nature, she also used her skills and experience to help friends and family prepare and file their yearly tax returns.
Jeanette was taken from our lives too soon. She will be forever missed but her memory and love will live on in all the lives she’s touched.
We thank everyone who has reached out to our family during this difficult time and ask that if friends or extended family so desire, donations can be directed to Paull Funeral Home and the family will determine at a later date where a donation will be made in Jeanette’s memory.
Friends and family will be payed their respects beginning at 7:30 PM on Friday, January 24th, 2014 at the Chapel of Paull Funeral Home, Swan River, Manitoba. A second viewing opportunity took place on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 for the hour prior to the 1:00 PM funeral service at the Kingdom Hall, Swan River, Manitoba. Jeanette was laid to rest in the Birchwood Cemetery, Swan River, Manitoba following the funeral service. Neal Henderson Officiated. Additional details can be obtained by contacting Paull Funeral Home at (204) 734-4556.
Paull Funeral Home and Crematorium are honoured to have served the family.

Kevin Jonathon Nemez
Kevin Jonathon Nemez was born May 4, 1964 to Joseph and Naomi Nemez. He had a happy, active childhood. He enjoyed motorbikes, and for several years participated in motocross races. He was in a 4-H horse club and enjoyed caring for and showing horses in the ring. He was an expert rider from a very young age. He liked to hunt small game with his pellet gun and later with a shot gun and rifle. He showed some interest in archery and fishing. He loved to follow big brother Stuart, and enjoyed teasing sister Shirley, both whom he admired and respected. Kevin also played hockey during his childhood and teens. Kevin had a calm and comforting personality with a keen, quick sense of humour that was sometimes very droll. He saw the funny side of almost everything.
Kevin attended school at Heyes, SVJH, and graduated from SVRSS. He then went to Assiniboine College in Brandon and became an auto body repair man. He gained experience in this trade at several shops in Winnipeg, Portage, Neepawa and Swan River. He tried his hand at other things like truck-driving, school bus driver and running a coffee-shop/restaurant. He spent the last 6 years managing Phatboys Custom Auto Restoration in Swan River. He was a man of integrity in his dealings with customers and employees.
Kevin met Margaret Campbell in Winnipeg while she was attending Providence Bible College. They were married April 7, 1990. They were blessed with 5 beautiful, healthy children; Kyle, Ryan, Reise, Addison, and Peyton. Kevin was a loving, faithful and respectful husband. He loved his children more than his own life, always sacrificing his time, money, etc. to support and be with them. He was also an honorable son who demonstrated his respect for his parents in many, many ways.
Kevin attended Church at Little Woody Baptist until he and his family moved in to Community Bible Fellowship. Kevin became a born again Christian at a very early age and committed his life to his Saviour and God. He wanted to go into full-time Ministry but things didn’t work out that way. That did not stop him. He studied the Bible and took some Bible School courses on the computer. His faith was strong and became very apparent during times of hardship or stressful situations. Kevin’s heart was for Youth. He worked with Youth Groups at Little Woody Baptist and at CBF. His door was always open to them and his heart was for them. Dozens of teens and young people have been positively affected by his love, advice, and spiritual leadership. Kevin’s wife, Margaret has supported, helped and encouraged all of Kevin’s work and ministry. She too, has loved and encouraged the young people as he did.
Kevin went to be with his Lord at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the age of 49 years. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Joe and Naomi Nemez, his wife of 23 years, his children, Kyle, Ryan, Reise, Addison, and Peyton, one sister, Shirley Nemez, and one brother, Stuart Nemez (wife Rhonda and children Cassidy, Kenzie and Dion). He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Calvin and Donelda Campbell of Ontario, brother in-law Brian Campbell (Carol and their 2 children), brother in-law Bill Campbell (Donna and their 8 children) and a sister in-law Brenda (Jeff Brown and their 3 children), some uncles and aunts in the Nemez and Hunt families and 42 first cousins as well as many extended family members. Kevin will also be fondly remembered by the many young people and others for his comfort, love, and friendship and spiritual help that he gave so willingly.
Kevin was predeceased by several aunts and uncles and 2 first cousins.
Kevin was not a perfect man. He was human and made mistakes, as we all have, but his sins were covered by the blood of Christ and he lived his life by that creed. He would be the first to say, “God’s will, not mine, be done.” His last words to us could very well be, “Consider your lives and your relationship to God”. He believed the Holy, Inspired Word of God. He believed in one God, one Faith, one life to live for Christ his living Saviour.

Brian Vandette
1958 - 2010
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Brian (Big Bri) Vandette, at the Grace Hospital Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the age of 52.
Brian was predeceased by his parents John and Dorothy Vandette, father-in-law Elmer Williams and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived and will be greatly missed by Ruth, his loving wife of 27 years, and beloved children, daughter Rachel (Tim), son John (Emily), mother-in-law Jane Williams and numerous cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his bearded dragons, Thunder and Lightning.
Brian was born in Winnipeg on June 10, 1958 and spent most of his early life living in Weston. He attended Pinkham School, Weston School, Cecil Rhodes School numbers 1 and 2, and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in 1976. After trying Red River College for a year and deciding a career in business was not for him, Brian began working for the City of Winnipeg in 1978. Working his way from a seasonal construction worker to a level 2 foreman, he was still working with the city at the time of his death. Some of his oldest friends were his co-workers there.
Growing up he played baseball, basketball, volleyball but his first love was always football. He played for the Weston Wildcats, the Hawkeyes, and the St. Vital Mustangs. Summers were spent at Winnipeg Beach with his parents, grandparents and Dorothy’s brother’s family. Being an only child, Brian adopted Cliff, Jojo and Gerri as his older brother and sisters. Brian had a large family of uncles, aunts and cousins on his dad’s side but as they all lived in the east or west, he did not see them often but always enjoyed seeing and visiting them when possible. Brian also stayed in touch with his childhood friend Ray as he moved around Canada and the United States with his job.
Brian and Ruth began dating in 1972 on a school trip to eastern Canada and were married on June 4, 1983. His greatest joys were his beautiful children Rachel and John. Brian did a great job raising them. Recently he had begun to say our job as parents was done and how much he enjoyed spending time with them as adults and not just because they are our children. As they grew he began coaching, first ringette, then hockey and finally lacrosse. He enjoyed coaching field lacrosse so much he was still coaching at Westwood Collegiate even though John had graduated two years ago. When coaching he always tried to allow everyone to play and develop their skills. Brian felt the worst part of coaching was cutting players from a team. Brian loved animals and always had pets, mostly dogs, but in the last few years had down sized to Bearded Dragons. Summers were spent at Ruth’s family’s cottage in Ingolf, Ontario, enjoying the lake and all the special people there. Whether it was helping the neighbors, having cocktails on the dock, playing cards in the evening, fishing, or winning tug-of-wars; lake life was very special to Brain.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the ER at the Grace Hospital for their care of Brian.
