Abraham William (Bill) Harder

Abraham William (Bill) Harder passed away unexpectedly, with his family by his side, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the age of 69 years.
Bill was born June 6, 1938 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan to William and Katherine Harder. They moved to the Gladstone area in 1939 and have lived there ever since. Bill started farming with his father and brother and later operated his own farm with his wife Pat and eldest son Clinton. Bill served as a councillor for the R.M. of Westbourne for 12 years and was a member and president of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship of Gladstone for several years.
Bill enjoyed farming and spending time with his family and friends. His seven grandchildren were very special to him. They enjoyed spending time with their Grandpa, especially feeding the cows and going for quad and tractor rides together. Bill had a love of music, singing and playing guitar. Bill was predeceased by his parents William and Katherine Harder, an infant brother, infant daughter Karen, brother David and brother-in-law Paul Asmundson.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Pat of 43 years, his children Clinton & Shailagh, Wyatt, Marshall, and Weston Harder of Gladstone, Manitoba; Paul & Brenda Harder of Lacombe, Alberta; Raquel & Victor, Sierrah and Erica Peters of Brandon, Manitoba; Michelle & Alan, Chayse and Paycen Warkentin of Gladstone, Manitoba; sisters Edna (James) Mattson, Sylvia Asmundson, Judith Harder, Leona (Robert) Beamish; sister-in-law Janice Harder, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Gladstone Christian Fellowship Church with Pastors Randy Fehr and Bruce Ford officiating. Interment followed in the Gladstone Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clinton Harder, Paul Harder, Victor Peters, Alan Warkentin, Isaac Wiebe and Peter Unrau. Honourary pallbearers were all family and friends.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Richard (Ricky) Peter Anderson

Entered into rest at Oakville, Manitoba on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the age of 45 years.
Ricky was born on January 29, 1962 in Gladstone, where he grew up and received his education, after receiving his schooling Ricky was married became a father and moved to Churchill, Manitoba. He later worked at Portage la Prairie for a number of years.
Predeceased by one sister Leanne.
Left to mourn his passing is daughter Veronica & Robert Chapman of Thompson and her mother Rhoda; grandchildren Jayden and Mason; parents Harvey and Vi Anderson of Gladstone; two brothers Rod & Tanya of Gladstone and David & Darla of Winnipeg; nieces Jaime and Nikki; nephew Clay; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service was held Friday, August 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Interment followed in the Gladstone Cemetery.

George (Georgie) David Vivier

Passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Sandy Bay First Nation, age 52 years.
Predeceaed by his parents Oscar & Dorothy Vivier; sister Betty; grandparents Pete & Ida Roulette, Joseph Elzar & Marguerite Vivier; uncle St. Pierre Roulette; and auntie Virginia McIvor.
Leaves to mourn his wife Susie; daughters Krystle and Leeann; son Jared; three sisters Bernice Eastman (Brian), Mary Daniels (Billy), and Liza Vivier; numerous nieces and nephews; uncles Wilfred Roulette, David Roulette (Sylvia), John Roulette (Pamela); auntie Fredia McIvor (Joe); and mother-in-law Bernice Desjarlais.
A traditional wake was held Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sandy Bay Complex.
Funeral service was held Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sandy Bay First Nations. Interment followed in the Sandy Bay Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edgar McIvor, Terry McIvor, Norbert McIvor, Joey Smith, Brian Eastman Jr., Warren Maytwayashing, Ronald McIvor, and Joel McIvor.

Doris Irene Moffat

On Friday, July 27th, at the age of 71, Doris passed away in her room at the Douglas Campbell Lodge, with her loving family by her side.
Remaining to forever cherish Doris’ memory are her devoted husband of 54 years Roy Russell Moffat; 6 children - Suzanne Morris (Steve) of Vernon, BC, Deborah Eiriksson of Portage la Prairie, Robert Moffat (Cynthia) of Elm Creek, Cindy Moffat of Brandon, Lorrie Kleemola (Ed) of Rosser and Dawn Callander (Ernie Vandersteen) of Langruth; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren – Aaron, Laura (husband Hans and son Lucas), Heather, Jenna, Stephanie, Amanda, Jason, Lindsay, Tara (husband Kirby and sons Ethan and Troy), Gregory, Alyssa, Denton and April.
She will also be missed by her one brother – Kenneth Lawter and his wife Doreen, Brother-in-law George Bjarnarson, Brother-in-law Garvin Moffat and his wife Peggy, Sister-in-law Irma Aubertin and husband Dennis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
Doris is predeceased by one daughter Catherine Anel, one granddaughter Leslie Ann, and her parents Bertram Lawter, Anna and Joe Johanson.
Doris was born in Steinbach, MB on March 28th, 1936. Her family moved to Langruth when she was 9 years old and she attended Hollywood District School. She married Russell on July 31st, 1953 and moved from Edmonton, AB to Red Lake, ON before settling in Lakeland permanently, where they raised their children.
Doris’ first passion was her family to whom she devoted her life. Her children and her grandchildren were everything to her, as she sewed and knit and baked for them, and taught them to sew and knit and bake for themselves. She also shared her love of gardening with them, reaping the harvest from her vegetable patch and her fruit trees, always sharing her bounty with family and friends. Her lovely flower-filled yard was the setting of many family picnics.
When the children were grown and gone, Doris and Russell toured North America in their RV. Doris loved to travel and their trips took them north to Alaska, south to Louisiana and numerous states and provinces in between. She also loved to fish and her and Russell spent hours in their boat trolling for the big one.
Doris was an active community member, affiliated with the Royal Purple for many years. She was always ready to lend a hand serving or baking for various community functions. She enjoyed curling, taking part in many local bonspiels; she coached a baseball team which her daughters played on, and in later years you could find her walking down their gravel road with her faithful companion Elie.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 1, in the Langruth Community Hall at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Phyllis Thordarson officiating. Interment followed in the Lakeland cemetery.
Should friends desire, donations may be made in Doris’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, in support of ongoing research.

Albert Pogue

Albert Pogue of Flin Flon, Manitoba passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Flin Flon General Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Funeral service for Albert Pogue was held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dadson Funeral Home, 120 Highway 10A, Flin Flon, Manitoba.
Funeral service for Albert Pogue was also held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Clarke's Funeral Chapel, MacGregor, Manitoba. Interment followed at the Rose Hill Cemetery near MacGregor, Manitoba.
If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Flin Flon Creighton S.P.C.A. or to The Heart And Stroke Foundation, c/o Northern Rainbows End, 55 Main Street, Flin Flon, Manitoba, R8A 1J7.

Harold Edwin Brown

Entered into rest at the Portage General Hospital on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the age of 90 years.
Harold was born September 23, 1916 in the Morden District. He grew up in the area referred to as District 16. In 1944 he moved to a farm in the Pine Creek District where he farmed until 1976 when he retired to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
Predeceased by one son in infancy, two brothers Wilfred and Edward.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Marie; three sons Art (Nettie), Robert and Al (Kathy); two daughters Pat (Robert) Gordon and Shelly (Dwayne) Holinaty; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother Norman (Martha); and one sister Marion Letkeman.
Friends called for visitation on Sunday, July 29, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel, MacGregor.
Funeral service was held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the EM Church in MacGregor, Manitoba with Pastor Glenn Loewen officiating. Interment followed in the Austin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Valley View Bible Camp Child Sponsorship Fund, Box 430, MacGregor, Manitoba, R0H 0R0.

March 21, 1929 – July 22, 2007

Peacefully passed away with loved ones by his side.
Survived by wife Lorraine; daughter Debbie; grandchildren Shelley & Chad Gray and Craig Frost; son Dale, daughter – in – law Terry; grandchildren Rob, Lee, and Leita.
Funeral service was held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church. Interment followed in the Gladstone Cemetery.
