ALMA CHRISTINE ANDRESEN (nee FRAUEN) Alma was born January 18, 1921 and passed away on September 2, 2004 at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB. She is survived by her husband Peter of 58 years. Alma and Peter moved to Thompson in 1959 as one of the first pioneering families. There they worked hard, established a business, made many lifelong friends and became productive members of the community. One of the places that Alma loved was the cabin that they built on a island at Paint Lake where Alma enjoyed activities such as snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time with her family. Alma also had a passion for travelling. They would go to Mexico annually for 35 years where they had many cherished friends that will sadly miss her. Alma will always be remembered for her quiet, giving nature and her kind spirit. She leaves behind to mourn her children, W. John Andresen (Kim), Ingrid Andrews (Glen), Peter Andresen (Sandy), Karen Andresen; ten grandchildren, Tara Goodman (Scott), Mark Dudar, Marlaine Andresen, Stephanie Andresen, Brendan Andresen, Chris Andresen, Steven Andresen, Scott Andresen, Amanda Prinse, Juliane Prinse; one great-grandchild Kaitlyn Goodman. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of 3E Riverview Health Centre for their care and concern of Alma. ROBERTA SORIA ARRIOLA With sadness we announce the sudden death of Roberta Soria Arriola at the Seven Oaks Hospital, in Winnipeg on August 25, 2004. She will be remembered and missed by all those who loved her. She is survived by her children, Joffery, Jeffrey, Jessica and Jonathan and their families; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott and Jason. And her brothers and sisters, Rudolfo Soria, Victoria Aggaboa, Gloria Soria, Danny Soria, Alfredo Soria, Salva Soria and their families. Nieces and nephews, extended family and friends will also remember her. Roberta was born in Manila, Philippines on June 7, 1935. In 1968 she immigrated to England where she lived for 35 years. The last year of her life she spent with her sister in Winnipeg, Canada. Prayers and traditional lamay will be held on Friday, September 3 at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated from the St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Parish on Saturday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. INGRID MARIA BIGALKE (nee KRAUS) 1935-2004 On Tuesday, August 31, surrounded by her family and friends, our dear, beloved mother, Ingrid Bigalke passed away at Concordia Hospital. Mutti was predeceased by her husband Egon; brother Hans; and parents, Margarete and Hans. She is survived by her children, Ron and Sandy and son-in-law Kelly Taylor as well as extended family and friends. Ingrid was born in Marianske Lazni on August 22, 1935. She survived a tumultuous childhood in war torn Germany. She immigrated to Canada as a young adult and worked in sewing factories to help make ends meet. She also spent time studying business and ran her own business for many years. We miss you so very much mom, we love you and we cherish the memories you have given us. You have taught us so much about unconditional love, patience and kindness. You always gave selflessly. We will try to honour your life lessons in everything we do. A service in honour of Ingrid will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on 65 Walnut. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

MARY CHUDLEY (nee DAMAN) 1919 - 2004 Surrounded by her family, Mary passed peacefully and with dignity from this world into the next on Saturday, August 28 at Jocelyn House. Mary is survived by her three step-children, Cheryl Ann Fiorentino (Onofrio), Albert Edward (Jennifer) Chudley, and Raymond Kevin (Laurie) Chudley. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Jon Paul (Tara) Fiorentino, Jamie (Gigi) Fiorentino, Christopher (Dana) Chudley, Peter (Christine) Chudley, Sarah (Arnaud) Guillemard, Natasha Chudley, David Chudley, Blaire Chudley, Braden Chudley and Blake Chudley; her great-grandchildren, Nadia, Lilly, Justin, Rylen, Landen, Ethan, Alexandre and Annlise; her brother-in-law Mel Burnside; her nieces and nephew, Cheryl (John) Wiens, Lorraine (Don) Nishio and Don (Joanne) Burnside; her great-nephews, Derek, Mark, Michael and Carlos; and numerous cousins. Mary was predeceased by her husband Albert Edward Jr. (Ab), in 1969; by her parents, Johannes Frederichs and Sien Daman; by her brother Marinas John and her sister Dean. Mary was born on December 19, 1919 and was raised in Winnipeg. She worked in the mail order department of Eaton's for many years, retiring in 1968. She married Ab on September 28, 1968 and was widowed on February 12, 1969. She delighted in her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-nephews. Mary always remembered a birthday or anniversary. In her earlier years she enjoyed 5-pin bowling (where she met Ab) and spent many restful weekends and summers in the family cottage at Brereton Lake. Mom was a fabulous knitter and we all proudly wore the fruits of her labour. Mary was a member of the Confidence Rebekah Lodge No. 40 I.O.O.F. The family wishes to express their thanks for the excellent care and comfort provided by Dr. Dennis Caners and staff, the nurses and staff of 3 East at Concordia Hospital, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Jocelyn House. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West, Transcona, on Tuesday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m., the Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating. Transcona Funeral Chapel Ltd. is entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Rd., Winnipeg (www.jocelynhouse.ca).
