JULIA HOYNE KEMP On Wednesday, July 7, 2004, Julia, beloved sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 86 years. Julia was born December 6, 1918, the daughter of Mary Janet MacDonald and Michael Hoyne. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; and her sister Angela. Left to remember and mourn her passing is her sister Margaret Cox; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Jack and Keri and all the staff at KPCC who cared for Julia and endeavoured to make these last years as comfortable as possible for her. To those who seemed to understand and maybe even appreciate her wild and wicked ways, our gratitude. So go now, dear one, free from pain and sorrow. The pipes are calling from glen to glen and down the mountainside...Thank you, Julia, for making us laugh. Thank you for your fierceness. We will kneel and say an ave here for you. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 300 Donalda Ave. Interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. MIKE F. KLEPATZ Mr. Mike Klepatz, aged 87 years, beloved husband of Wanda of River Hills, MB. passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at the Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. He will be sadly missed by his wife Wanda of 63 years; his daughter Irene Dalzell of Winnipeg; his grandchildren, Barbara Pschulski (Ed) of Winnipeg, Bradley Thorlacius of Ashern, MB, Shannon Dalsell and Scott Dalsell both of Winnipeg; his daughter-in-law Carolyn Thorlacius of Ashern, MB; his sisters, Tillie Schatkowsky of Whitemouth and Hertha Klapprat (Fred) of Whitemouth; his brothers, Gordon (Joyce) of Whitemouth and Albert (Anne) of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont; also many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Ella Klepatz of River Hills and Marie Klepatz of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his son Edward; his parents Ernest and Amalia; and his brothers, John, Alex and Walter. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rivers Hills, with Pastor Don Reimer officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. GERMAINE LAFOREST (nee PAYMENT) Paisiblement, Germaine Laforest est decede au Foyer Valade le Jeudi 8 juillet 2004 a l'age de 96 ans. Nee le 24 juin 1908 a Elie, Manitoba elle etait la fille d'Adelina Campeau et d'Edouard Payment, couple fondateur du village. Germaine was the second youngest daughter of Edouard and Adelina (Campeau) Payment, a founding family of the community of Elie, MB. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Alcide Laforest in 1956; her sisters, Yvonne (Boisselle) and Rita (Daoust) and her brothers, Albert, Charles, Antonin, Romeo and Ulysse. She is survived by many nieces and nephews in Manitoba and in Montreal. Germaine a grandi a Elie. En 1943, elle epouse Alcide Laforest a St-Jerome (QC) et elle habite a Montreal peandant plus de trente ans. Germaine worked for Canada Post in Montreal for many years and returned to Manitoba in the 1970s. Un moment memorable de la vie de Germaine a ete la celebration de ses 95 ans avec sa famille en juin dernier. Sa famille et ses ami(e)s se souviendront longtemps de cette p'tite femme forte au sourire moqueur et chaleureux. Her family and friends will always remember this little slip of a woman with the sparkling blue eyes and a warm and generous smile. Deepest appreciation and thanks to all the staff at Foyer Valade for their care and kindness. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. Interment will follow at the Green Acres Memorial Gardens. WILLIAM LAIDLAW

WILLIAM JOHN LAIDLAW February 17, 1920 - July 8, 2004 It is with great sadness we mourn the loss of our beloved husband, father, grand father, great-grand father, uncle and friend William who passed away at the age of 84, Thursday, July 8, 2004. Missing him are his wife of 58 years Elizabeth; his three children, son Gary (Debbie, Blake, and Jenna) of Toronto, son Bob, and daughter Wendy Coulter (Hutch); as well as his granddaughter Kristine Rae White (Dain) and their children great-granddaughter Taylor and great-grandson Konner. Also grieving the loss of Dad are many friends, as well as nieces and nephews, and family. Dad was predeceased by his parents, William Cook Laidlaw and Christina Hardy Robertson Laidlaw, his brothers Robert and George, sister Jean (Johnson). Dad joined the navy as an able bodied seaman, serving from 1941 to 1945. He worked at Crescent Creamery as a milk man from 1945 to 1949. In January, 1950 he started as a Constable with the City of Winnipeg Police Department and remained there until his retirement on August 2, 1975. In 1978 he re-entered the work force by taking a position at Princess Auto as a part time Security Guard. Dad's lifestyle was simple and uncomplicated. he enjoyed the times spent at Grand Beach as well as helping with building his son's cottage at Hillside Beach. He had humility, perseverance, dignity, great inner strength, and a great sense of humour. Never one to complain Dad faced his latest challenge with much courage. The World of Eternal Light We travel the river of life, day by day, And its turns can bring many changes our way But what may appear as the final bend, Is just the beginning, instead of the end. For beyond it, there lies still another land Where your loved one, directed by God's own hand, Lives on, although physically out of sight, At peace, in a world of eternal light. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, on Thursday, July 15, at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, a donation may be made to The Diabetes Association or The Alzheimer's Association. BRYANN PRISCILLA PETRONELLA LANGE Tragically, on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, we lost our little Angel Bryann, daughter of Arnold and Kim of Dufresne, MB at the age of 2 years. Bryann is survived by her loving parents, Arnold and Kim; big brother Jonathan; big sister Ria; Willy and Maria Lange (Oma and Opa); John and Priscilla Loates (Grandma and Grandpa); great-Oma Dirks and great-granddad L.W. Kertland; aunties and uncles, Heather Loates, Keith Loates, Harry and Cindy Lange, Gerrie and Jeff Stolz, Pieter and Wendy Lange, Bart Lange and Rebecca Marchinko; cousins, Derek, Ryan, Nicole, Amy, Isabelle, Damon, Owen and Emily; and many very special aunties, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her uncle Bryan Loates; great-grandparents, Jean and Albert Loates, Evelyn Kertland, Geertruda and Arnoldus Bongers, Hendrikus Lange and Peterus Dirks. Prayers were held on Friday, July 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, MB (West of #12 North on Hwy. 15.) Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated this morning, Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in Millbrook Cemetery. Pallbearers for our little Angel will be her uncles, Harry, Pieter, Bart and Jeff. Our family would like to extend a special thank you to all the Lorette and Landmark Emergency Response Team, 911, the paramedics, Dr. Chatel and the Nurses at Ste. Anne's Hospital, the Emergency Room Doctors and Nurses at Children's Hospital, Chaplain Daly DeGagne and Fr. Owen Steeves. Also, to Dr. Christo Minnaar for all the care and love during her short stay with us. To all our family and friends, we thank you for your love and support. LEONARD LOADER

LEONARD CHARLES LOADER July 29, 1925 - July 07, 2004 Passed away peacefully at the Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home with his family at his side to help him complete his journey. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Violet (nee Oliver) of fifty-eight years; children, William (Dolores), Stephen (Arlene), Charles (Rebecca), Susan (Marc) and grandchildren, Rick Loader (Wendy), Michelle Loader, Charwin and Ashley Dahl, and Robert and Sarah Loader. He will also be missed by his only sister Agnes Rewucki (Ed); and brother-in-law Arthur Oliver (Doris). Len was in the Air Force during the Second World War from 1943-1945. He then returned to civilian life after the war and worked with his father who owned and operated Osborne's Bakery. Len re-enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and became an instructor on the CF-100 jets. He then left the service in 1958 as a Squadron Leader to return once again to civilian life. He was a volunteer with Search and Rescue for a number of years. Len coped with Parkinson disease for 19 years. He had many caring people from Home Care who helped him in his daily life, particularly Dusty. We thank you all. Len's disease progressed to the point that his loving wife Violet was not able to manage caring for him. Len spent the last three years of this life at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. We thank ALL of the staff for your caring, your humour, and your professionalism with Dad especially Betty-Jean who seemed to know what was needed by Dad on the final part of his journey through this life. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomson Funeral Home located at 669 Broadway Ave. There will be a reception on-site after the service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If friends desire donations in Len's memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba Rm 302-171 Donald St. Winnipeg R3C 1M4. AUDREY FLORENCE (KLOS) MALIK Peacefully at home in Carlisle, ON, surrounded by loved ones, Audrey Malik passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on June 26, 2004 at the age of 51 years. Audrey's unwavering faith sustained her in difficult times and was a wonderful witness to those around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. Audrey was born August 7, 1952 in Anola, MB and moved to Hamilton area in 1974 and resided there until her passing. She is survived by her beloved husband Tej; only daughter Keshena Malik; her father Stanley Klos; sister Virginia (Robert) Lanoway and children, Shannon, Sherry, Tracey (David) Conboy and Reg Lanoway; brother Wallace (Pat) Klos and children, Curtis (Catherine), Dwayne (Serena), Krissy (Jeremy) Rennie and Michael Klos; sister Marge (Larry) Prysizney and children, Ian, Shayne and Trina Prysizney; sister-in-law Shelley (Ken) Martini and children, Dustin, Jonathan, Lorissa and Benny Martini. Audrey was predeceased by her mother Jean Klos in 1991 and brother Kenny in 1985. To celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at Albright Church, 3400 De Vries Ave. on Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. If so desired, donations to any Christian Youth Ministry would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) Funeral services were held on June 30 in Waterdown, ON.
