Moncton – Dorothy Wilson, born June 25, 1923, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s presence at Protem Health services on Tuesday, July 13th, 2010. Family members visited over the past weeks as she prepared to leave us. Although she suffered from dementia, her faith remained constant and reasoned, and she was ready to go on to the next “great adventure”. Mom was grateful for the intelligent and kind care she received during her year at Protem. She loved her caregivers and nurses, as do the family.
Born in Port Stanley, Ont on June 25th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Mary (Orrell) Cromwell.
Dorothy will be missed by her three children, Ann (Stan) Balch of Moncton NB, Keith (Anita) of Fredericton NB, Scott of Cancun, Mexico, son-in-law Paul; daughters-in-law Nancy and Karen; brother, Ashley (late Pat); sisters, Nina (Marshall) of St. Thomas Ont., Marilyn (late Bus) of Sarnia Ont., Ruth Anne (Wayne) of Danbury, CT and Gail (Henry) of Lawrenceville, GA; five grandchildren, Miriam, Joel, Christina, Jonathan, and Allan; two step-grandchildren, Heather and Judith; also several great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Earl (1993), a brother Monte, and an infant brother, Oliver.
At Dorothy’s request, there will not be a visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
Donations to the Moncton Wesleyan Church Building Fund, or Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church, or the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arsène (Archie) Melanson

Moncton – Formerly from Cocagne, Arsène Melanson, 77, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 23rd after a lengthy illness.
Born in Cocagne on August 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Albert and Marie (Léger) Melanson.
Arsène will sadly be missed by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Richard); his son, Daniel Melanson (Rose-Marie) of Shediac Bridge; his daughter Monette Melanson of Moncton; two grandsons, Marc LeBlanc of Rothesay, Eric LeBlanc of Moncton and one granddaughter, Isabelle Melanson of Shediac Bridge; one brother, Gérard Melanson of Moncton; four sisters, Irène Cormier (late Jean-Baptiste) of Cocagne, Bernadette LeBlanc of Bouctouche, Murielle LeBlanc (late Francis) and Albertine LeBlanc (late Antoine) both of Moncton; also several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Prior to his retirement in 1992, Arsène worked for the Provincial Motor Vehicle Department as a Driver Examiner. Arsène enjoyed hunting, fishing and never turned back a good game of cards. Since his retirement and prior to his illness, Arsène was actively involved with the New Brunswick Senior Citizens’ Federation (Fédération des Citoyen(ne)s Aîné(e)s du Nouveau-Brunswick) in various capacities. He also stayed very active in the Cocagne Golden Age club where he and Pat spent much time. Always a voice for seniors, Arsène sat on various committees dealing with issues affecting the elderly.
He was predeceased by one son, Michel, one daughter, Josanne, six brothers, Emile, Alphée, Edmond, Oscar, Lionel, Irénée, and one sister, Lina.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Thursday, August 26th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, August 27th from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 27th at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Lung Association, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or donor’s choice.

Ada (Burdon) Gagnon

Moncton – Ada (Lilley) Gagnon, 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 28th, after a lengthy illness.
Born in South Sheilds, England on February 26th, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Burdon) Lilley.
Ada will sadly be missed by her husband Joseph Alcide; her sons, Michael Gagnon (Pamela) of Fredericton, David Gagnon (Dorine) of Moncton; her daughters, Valerie Hussey (Frank), Carol Ferguson, Pamela VanEgmond (Martin) all of Moncton, and Gail Collette (Roger) of Riverview; brother, William Lilley (Noreen) of England; sister, Hilda Lowther (late Charles) of England, eighteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; also several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Ada was a past member of the Overseas War Brides and Member of St. Augustine’s Church.
Besides her parents, Ada was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred and Albert.
There will be no Visitations or Memorial Service by Ada’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Jason Thomas Cormier

“An angel was called home”
Moncton – Jason Cormier, 23, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 14, 2010.
Born in Moncton, on April 23, 1987, Jason attended METS and was a member of Moncton’s Special Olympics.
He is survived by his mother, Nadine Gauvin; one sister, Serena Bourque at home; his maternal grandparents, Euclide and Jeannine Gauvin of Dieppe; his paternal grandparents, Aimé and Annie Cormier of Memramcook East; and his father, Oscar Cormier of Alberta.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. A chapel service will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton, on Saturday, September 18 at 10:30 am, followed by a reception.
The family wishes to thank all of the Moncton Hospital staff, friends and family whose kindness and support added a ray of sunshine during Jason’s stay at the palliative care unit.
Donations to the Greater Moncton Association for Community Living or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Moncton, NB – On September 22nd, 2010, Lloyd Savoy, 69, passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sussex, NB on May 2nd, 1941, he was the son of the late Albert and Pearl (Lloyd) Savoy.
Lloyd will sadly be missed by his wife of 46 years, Lorna (Noble); his two loving daughters, Deanne and Kristi Gauvin (Wayne) both of Moncton, his cherished granddaughter, Emily and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jack.
Visitations will take place at Passage Moncton, 625 Mountain Road on Sunday, September 26th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with parish prayers and sharing of memories starting at 8:30 pm. A Funeral service will be held from Passage Moncton “Chapel” on Monday, September 27th at 10:00 am.
Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, the Canadian Cancer Society or donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.

Moncton – Jean LeBlanc, 79, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday, September 25th.
Born in Shediac on April 1st, 1931, he was the son of late Ovila and Elmire (Arsenault) LeBlanc.
Jean will sadly be missed by his wife of 51 years, Thérèse (Gauvin); three sons, Raymond, Louis, Gilles (Pam); one daughter, Claire Duguay (Michel); two brothers, Aime (Pauline), Noël (Léola); three sisters, Sister Alphonsine, Sister Marie-Thérèse, Rita (George); five grandchildren, Tara, Shaun, Kaleigh, Travis, Xavier; three great grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Grayson; a sister-in-law Dora; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one son, Robert; two brothers, Albinie, Gérard; and two sisters, Olive and Marguerite.
Visitation will be held at Passage, 625 Mountain Rd in Moncton on Wednesday, September 29th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 30th at the St. Joseph RC Church in Shediac at 2 pm. No visitations on Thursday.

Moncton – Susan Bourgeois, 50, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 5th, after a brief illness.
Born in Pierrefonds, QC, on September 20th, 1960, she was the daughter of the late John and late Theresa (McArdle) LeBlanc.
Susan will sadly be missed by her husband, Georges; her daughter, Jessica of Moncton; two sisters, Sharon LeBlanc and Pauline LeBlanc (Dick) both of Moncton; one brother, John LeBlanc of Moncton; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two infant brothers, both named John.
Visitations will be held at the Passage Funeral Service at 625 Mountain Rd, Moncton on Friday, September 8th from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. There will be a parish prayer and sharing memories at 8:30 pm. No visitations on Saturday. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Phil Mulligan at 11 am on Saturday, September 9th at the St.Augustine’s RC Church in Moncton. Reception will follow at the Church Hall.

Born in St-Norbert on September 10, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Leonice (Boucher) Babineau.
Georgina will be sadly missed by her husband of 59 years, Emery; her two sons, Ivan (Brenda) of Lynn, Mass., Laurie (Elizabeth) of Moncton; her three grandchildren, Norman, Jonathan, Angela; her two great grandchildren, Dylan and Daryn; her four sisters, Emilienne Maillet of Montreal, Anita LeBlanc (Laurie) and Florence LeBlanc (Eugere), both of Ste-Marie-de-Kent and Bernice Breau of Waltham, Mass.
She was predeceased by six sisters, Elmina, Alice, Marguerite, Leona, Ida, Marie; three brothers, Theodore, Octave, Rudolphe and her step mother, Eleonore Landry.
Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Friday, April, 29th from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, April 30th from 9 am until time of funeral. Funeral service will be at Passage Chapel in Shediac Bridge on Saturday, April 30th at 11 am.

Moncton - Corinne Savoie, 91, of Villa du Repos and formerly of Joyce Ave, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, July 4, 2011.
“Mum” as everyone called her, was loved by all.
Born in Moncton on June 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Thaddée and Emma (Gallant) LeBlanc.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Marcel Savoie, (Mary Ann) of Dieppe, Roger Savoie (Rita) of Moncton; her daughters, Jeannette (Paul Dupuis), Theresa (Aldeo ‘Bill’ Belliveau), Cecile Savoie, and Emily Savoie, all of Moncton; her sister, Cecilia Nielsen of Moncton; her special grandson, Charlie; her ten grandchildren; her fourteen great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emery, a daughter, Maureen (1980), three sisters, Géraldine, Geneva, and Theresa; four brothers, Edward (Ned), Edgar, Henri and Leonard.
Visitations will be at Passage, 625 Mountain Road in Moncton on Wednesday, July 6 from 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday, July 7 from 9 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix RC Church on Murphy Ave. on Thursday, July 7 at 11am.
