Adélard Goguen

Shediac – Formerly from Cocagne, Adélard Goguen, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Villa Providence in Shediac after a lengthy illness.
Born in Shediac on May 12, 1922, he was the son of the late Philippe and Elida (Richard) Goguen.
He was in the Second World War from 1941 to 1946. Adélard served in England, France, Italy, Belgium and Holland.
Adélard is survived by his wife, Irène; three daughters, Elida (Aldérice Cormier) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, Eva-Mai (Paul Cormier) and Dolorèse (Oscar Robichaud) both of Cocagne; four sons, Néri (Marguerite), George, Denis, all of Cocagne, and Odule (Gisèle Gaudet) of Cormier Village; one sister Thérèse Nowe (late Eddy) of Halifax, NS; two half-brothers, Roger (Stella) of Mass, Eloi of Moncton; five half-sisters, Marie Melanson of Cocagne, Elsie Johnson (Jean-Noël) of Ste-Anne-de-Kent, Helena (Joe Berardi), Emma (Roger LeBlanc) and Lauraine (Ronnie Robichaud) all of Mass; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Raymond, two brothers, Gérard and Aurèle, three sisters, Elizabeth, Généva and Hartance, two half-brothers, Evérard and Gérald and one half-sister, Imelda.
There will be visitation at the Passage Funeral Co-operative in Shediac Bridge, Tuesday, May 26 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, also Wednesday, May 27 from 2 to 4 pm and 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne, Wednesday, May 27 at 7 pm.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Guy Girouard

Shediac, NB – Guy Girouard, 56, suddenly passed away on Friday, July 17 at the Moncton City Hospital.
Born in Grande-Digue on October 11, 1952, he was the son of the late Cyrille Girouard and Lucille Poirier.
Guy will be sadly missed by his wife, Monique (Arsenault); his son, Julien of Moncton; his mother, Lucille of Shediac Bridge; his brother, Marc Girouard (Germaine) of Shediac Bridge; his sister, Rebecca Caissie (Raymond) of Shediac Bridge; his father and mother-in-law, Désiré and Edmée Arsenault of Saint-Antoine; his two sisters-in-law, Charline Léger (Paul) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Suzanne Gallant (Richard) of Moncton; one niece, Véronique; and seven nephews, Justin, Fréderic, Martin, Mathieu, Rémi, Stéphane and Eric.
Visitations will be at Passage Funeral Co-operative at 3754 Route 134 in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, July 21, from 2 to 4 pm and from 5:30pm till time of funeral. Funeral Service will be held at Passage Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 pm.

Camille Bourgeois

Shediac – Camille Bourgeois, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Born in St-Philippe on December 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Albénie and Lodia (Williams) Bourgeois.
Camille is survived by three brothers, Ovide (Verne) of Calgary, Clarence (late Nellie) of Truro, NS and George (Stella Arsenault) of Grande-Digue.
He was predeceased by four sisters, Bertha, Edmée, Yvonne, Claudette and three brothers, John, Dismas and Denis.
In respecting Camille’s wishes, there is no visitation and service.

Edward (Eddie) Junior Pellerin

Shediac, NB – Edward Junior Pellerin, 79, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 16, 2009 after a lengthy illness.
Born in St-John, NB on May 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Edouard Pellerin and the late Jeanne Richard.
Although he has been an employee at General Motors before his retirement, his passion was lobster fishing. He was happy at sea.
Edward is survived by his wife, Alma (Gallant); one daughter, Gisèle Weaver of Shediac, three sons, Roger (Anne) of Bonnyville, AB, Donald (Carolyn) of St-John, NB, Michel (Paryse) of Shediac; five brothers, Napoléon (Susan) of Shediac Cape, Hector (Claudette), Edgar (Lorette), Robert (Joan) and Yvon (Ann), all four of Shediac; and ten grandchildren, Derek, Phillip, Michael, Jennifer, Jean-Bernard, Xavier, Richard, Jessica, Ariane and Chloé. Also survived by two brothers-in-law, Reg Roy (Anna) and Gerry Boudreau (Barbara); two sisters-in-law, Marguerite Pellerin (Léo) and Marjorie Townsend (Francis).
He was predeceased by two brothers, Léo and Francis; two sisters, Anna and Barbara.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, November 18 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, November 19 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral service will be celebrated at the St-Joseph RC Church in Shediac on Thursday, November 19 at 11am.

Edwidge Thorburn

Shediac- Edwidge Thorburn, 101, passed away peacefully at the Villa Providence on Wednesday, January 20th.
Born in Grande-Anse, NB on October 1st 1908, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elisabeth (Thériault) Pinette.
Edwidge leaves behind one son, Dr. Maurice-Victor Thorburn KCHS (Marcella LeBlanc) of Grande-Digue; two grandsons Micheal-Victor of Grand-Digue and Scott Lawrence of Red Dear AB; two granddaughters Susanne Shutiack (Barry) of Jasper AB and Lisa-Patricia Kassatly (Alexandre) of Quebec City; three great grandsons and seven great granddaughters.
She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
No visitation. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated later in the summer.
Masses can be sent also with $10.00 and will be celebrated in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Emery Roy

Shediac – Emery Roy, 91, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 31, 2010 after a lengthy illness.
Born in New Bedford, Mass on July 9, 1918, he was the son of the late William and Ida (Babineau) Roy.
Emery is survived by one brother, Irenée (late Stella) of Cocagne; a sister-in-law, Phylise of Cocagne; also several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Jeannette (2006); four brothers, Pierre, Alcide, Joseph and Gérard.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 from 9:30am until time of funeral. Funeral service will be celebrated at the Passage Funeral Chapel in Shediac Bridge at 11am.
Burial of ashes later in the spring at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church cemetery.

Shediac – Elizabeth Gallant, 85, formerly of Grande-Digue passed away at the Villa Providence on Thursday March 4th, 2010.
Born on June 17th, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Aimé Gallant and Christine (Poirier) Gallant. She lived and worked in Fitchburg, Mass for many years and also in Cocagne.
Elizabeth is survived by a sister Germaine Rudd (Robert), three sisters-in-law Jeannine Gallant (late Réginald), Corinne Gallant (late Edelor), Azéle Gallant (late Emmanuel) and two special nieces, Jeanne Mance and Lucienne and several nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Baptistine, Lorette, Edna, Hermiline, Bertha and Lysabeth, her brothers Eloi, Emmanuel, Edelor, Réginald, Raymond and Joseph.
There will be no visitation by personal request. Funeral service will be celebrated at Passage Chapel, 3754 Rte 134, Shediac Bridge on Monday March 8th, 2010 at 11 am. Interment will be held in Parish Cemetery at a later date.

Shediac - Marcel Arsenault, 96, passed away peacefully at the Residence “O” Bons Soins on Saturday, March 27th, 2010.
Born in Rogersville on January 14th, 1914, he was the son of the late Emilie (Bourgeois) and Mélème Arsenault.
He will be sadly missed by his second wife, Marguerite (Bourgeois); his daughters, Claudette Arsenault (Louis Lirette), Florence Cormier (Clarence) and Bernice Ferron (Julien) all of Cocagne and Maria Nowlan (Lawrence) of Bouctouche; his sons, Yvon (Lucie) of Shediac, Raymond (Aldoria) of Cocagne and André (Denise) of Longueuil Qc.; his stepchildren, Isabelle Thomas (Armand) of Shediac, Odette Bourque and Pierre Bourque (Joanne), both of Moncton; also thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Marcel was predeceased by his first wife Bertha (Bourque); daughter Elizabeth; sisters Marie and Marguerite; brothers Richard, Alyre and Joseph.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, March 30th from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Wednesday, March 31st from 9am until time of departure at 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated at La Visitation RC Church in Grande-Digue on Wednesday, March 31st, at 11am.

Doris McLellan

Shediac – Doris McLellan, 90, passed away peacefully at the St Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John, NB on Sunday, March 28 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Shediac on February 23, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Alderic and Exelda (Bastarache) Breau.
Doris is survived by one daughter, Joanne Richard (late William (Billy) of Quispamsis; two sisters, Florine Breau of Vancouver, BC and Lina Boucher (late Gaston) of Colburg, ON; several nieces and nephews; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph (2000); two sons, Kenneth, Michael; one daughter, Colleen; six brothers, Walter, Leon, Eric, Eddie, Ivan, Robert (Bob); two sisters, Georgina and Geneva.
Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, April 6th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7th at 2 pm at the Our Lady of Mercy RC Church in Pointe-du-Chêne. No visitation on Wednesday.
