André Daigle
12/02/1921 - 13/12/2008

Bouctouche, NB - André Daigle, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Acadieville on February 12, 1921, he was the son of the late Michel and Lévina Daigle.

André is survived by his wife Rosanna (Cormier); one daughter, Jeannette Daigle of Bouctouche; three brothers, Livain of Montreal, Gérard (Géraldine) of St-Ignace, Nazaire (Rita) of Gardner, Mass; three sisters, Dora (Aurèle Légère) of Richibouctou Village, Noëlla Barrieau and Zélica Daigle, both of Acadieville.

He was predeceased by an infant son; two brothers, Alcide and Calixte.

As requested by the family there will be no visitation. The service will be at the St. Jean Baptiste RC Church in Bouctouche on Tuesday, December 16, at 4pm.

Donations to the Kidney Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Roger Cormier
21/02/1934 - 01/04/2009

Bouctouche, NB- Roger Cormier, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Bouctouche on February 21st, 1934, he was the son of the late Pierre and Anna (LeBlanc) Cormier.

Roger is survived by his wife, Andréa; two daughters, Pierrette Bourque (Roland) of Dieppe, Marie-Josée Bastarache (Terry) of St-Antoine; one brother-in-law, Médard Collette (late Hermeline) of Moncton; one sister Georgina Collette (Elias) of Bouctouche; three grandchildren, Denis, Jérémie and Pierre.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Hermeline and Lorraine.

Visitation at Passage Funeral Co-operative, 3754, Rte 134 in Shediac Bridge on Sunday, April 5th, from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass at the St-Jean-Baptiste RC Church in Bouctouche on Monday, April 6 at 11 am. No visitation on Monday morning.

Donations to the Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Normand H. LeBlanc
15/08/1937 - 18/05/2009

Bouctouche - Normand H. LeBlanc (Norm), 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 18 at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Bouctouche on August 15th, 1937, he was the son of the late Hector and Elise (Doucet) LeBlanc.

Normand owned and operated ‘Le restaurant la Sagouine’ (formerly Norm’s take-out) along with his wife for 35 years.

Normand was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years (May 21st), Fernande (Arsenault) LeBlanc and his four daughters who loved him very much: Mariette LeBlanc (Claude), Monique LeBlanc and Jocelyne LeBlanc(Jason) of Bouctouche, and Gisèle LeBlanc-Melanson (Stéphane) of Cocagne. He will also be greatly and sadly missed by his grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Monette (Ghislain), Gabrielle (Bernard), Katelyn, Alyssa, Danika, Madisson and Maya. Normand would have been a great-grandfather to the first boy in the family in July 2009. He is also survived by six sisters: Viola Richard (late Jean-Eude), Doris Champagne (late Marcel), Bernadette Cormier (Raoul), Antoinette Maillet and Hectorine Takala (Clyde) all of Mass. and Hugette LeBlanc (Elmo) of Bouctouche; four brothers: Bernandin (Lorraine) and Sylvio of Mass., Antoine (Jolène) of Bouctouche and Jean-Claude of Moncton.

Besides his parents, Normand was predeceased by an infant sister, one brother, Aldéric (ti-boy) and two nieces, Linda and Lisa.

As requested by family, there will be no visitation.

Funeral service will take place at the St-Jean-Baptiste RC Church in Bouctouche on Friday, May 22 at 11 am.

The family would like to thank the staff from the Oncology Centre at the Dr.Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital as well as Dr. Witlock for their services throughout the 11 years Normand was receiving treatments, also thank you to Dr. Denise Gallant and the staff at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent for their wonderful services the past few months. The family would also like to thank Marie Juliette, Père Mercier and Père Léopaul LeBlanc.

In lieu of flowers, as per Normand’s wishes, donations to the Leon Richard Oncology Centre or the Palliative Care Unit at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Gerard J. Arsenault

Bouctouche Sud – Gerard J. Arsenault, 76, passed away suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010.

Born in Rogersville, NB on May 7th, 1934, he was the son of the late Armand and Rosanna (Blanchard) Arsenault.

Gerard will sadly be missed by his loving companion, Alfreda Léger, his four sons, Omer (known as Joe), Norman, Danny, Yvon; one daughter, Linda; three stepdaughters, Linda, Pauline, Bernice; one sister, Maria; twelve grandchildren, Gwen, Benjamin, Andy, Jeffrey, Eric, Debbie, Christine, Toby, Marc Rachel, Charline, Kevin; three great grandchildren, Erik, Alex, Mava; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette and one grandchild, Joey.

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Friday, November 5 from 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday, November 6 from 9 am until time of the Funeral service at 11 am at the Passage Chapel in Shediac Bridge.

Donations to the living memorial or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Donald A. Després
18/12/1934 - 19/09/2010

Bouctouche, NB – Donald A. Després passed away at the age of 75, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital on Sunday, September 19th.

Born in Cocagne, NB on December 18th, 1934, he was the son of the late Fidèle Després and late Emilienne Richard.

Donald will sadly be missed by his daughter; Cécile Després (Paul Donelle) from Grande-Digue; his three sons, Daniel (Brigitte), Paul (Joanne) both from Bouctouche and Michel (Nicole) from Memramcook; three sisters, Yvonne Leblanc (late Leonard) from Notre-Dame, Antoinette Breau (Olias) from Cocagne and Aline Després from Aldouane; three grandchildren, Christien, Sacha, Monica.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose-Marie (Bourque) and one brother, Edgar.

Respecting Donald’s wishes there will be no visit at the funeral home and no funeral service.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Diabetes Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Peter Smith

Bouctouche Bay - Peter Smith, 71, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 25, 2011, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bristol England on February 9, 1940, he was the son of the late Ronald and Evelyn (Davis) Smith.

Peter will be sadly missed by his wife, Jacqueline; his three sons, Ronald (Ronnie) Smith of Shediac, Robert (Bobby) Smith (Lise) of Richibuctou, Peter Smith of Ste-Anne-de-Kent; his seven grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Hannah, Natasha, Raven, Maveric, Serge; and his two great grandchildren; Patrick and Marie-Line.

He was predeceased by one brother, John.

Visitations will be held at Passage in Shediac Bride on Tuesday, June 28th, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Zion United Church in McKee’s Mills on Wednesday, June 29th at 11 am. No visitations on Wednesday. The service will be officiated by Rev. Claudia K. Keller. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Donations to the Zion United Church or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
