Adam Cormier
25/12/1987 - 14/03/2010

Cocagne, NB – Adam Cormier, 22, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital surrounded by his loving family on March 14, 2010 after a short illness.

Born in Moncton on December 25, 1987, he was the son of Armand and Carmella (Arsenault) Cormier.

Adam will sadly be missed by his parents, Armand and Carmella; his brother, Joey of Cocagne; his maternal grandmother, Geneviève Arsenault of Cap-Pelé; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his godparents, Marguerite and Jean-Paul Léger of Grande-Digue; also three special care givers, Mary Ann Hayes of Bouctouche, Shirley and Euclide Melanson of Cocagne.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Désiré and Marguerite and maternal grandfather, Bliss.

Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge, on Tuesday, March 16th from 7pm to 9pm and Wednesday, March 17th from 9:00am to 10:30am. Funeral service will be at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 11 am.

Donations to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gérald Bastarache

Cocagne – Gérald Bastarache, 79, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 6 after a brief illness.

Born in Ste-Marie-de-Kent on May 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Amédée and Marguerite (Hébert) Bastarache.

Gérald will sadly be missed by his wife Jeannita (Bourque); his son Réal (Cécilia) of Cocagne; four sisters, Noëlla Breau (John) of London, ON, Lydia Cormier (Paul) of Bouctouche, Claudette Collette (Jean-Guy) of Montreal, QC and Henriette Pellerin (Célestin) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; one sister-in-law, Ida Bastarache (late Lionel) of St-Paul-de-Kent; one brother-in-law, Claude Baril (late Ida) of Plessisville, QC; two grandchildren, Bionca and Ricky; also several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Lionel, Clorice and Léandre; and two sisters, Léona and Ida.

By the family’s request, there will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 12 at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne at 2 pm.

Donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

René L. LeBlanc
15/02/1925 - 17/04/2010

Cocagne - René LeBlanc, 85, passed away peacefully at the Stella-Maris Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Saturday, April 17, 2010. His last residence was the Foyer Myosotis in Cocagne.

Born in Cocagne, NB on February 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Lévi and Rufine (Goguen) LeBlanc.

René will sadly be missed by his wife, Dorice (born Breau); six children, Philippe (Bernice), Rena (Louis-Philippe Goguen), Gabriel (Estelle), Michel all of Cocagne, Francine (Vincent Cormier) of Notre-Dame and Nathalie (Greg Smith) of Russell, Ontario; seven grandchildren, Isabelle, Louis-Georges, Jean-Philippe, Gabriel, Julien, Geneviève and Janelle; two great grandchildren, Maxime and Marie-Eve; two sisters, Eva (late Prime Robichaud) of Gardner, Mass., Léa (late Acquila Maillet) of Cocagne; also several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters, Albert, Edouard, Dora, Lina, Clara, Florida and Alma.

Before his retirement, René worked as a longshoreman in Saint John, NB during 36 years for Canadian Pacific. He also worked as a carpenter. Hunting was his passion and he adored to spend time in the woods and at his camp in Saint-Martin.

Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Monday, April 19th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday, April 20th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church on Tuesday, April 20th at 4 pm. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations to the Salvation Army or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Albert Léger
16/12/1940 - 02/05/2010

Cocagne – Albert Léger, 69, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 2nd, after a sudden illness.

Born in Cocagne on December 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Aquila and Dora (LeBlanc) Léger.

Albert will sadly be missed by his wife, Cécile (Vienneau); his daughter, Christelle Léger (Ricky Davis) of Fredericton; his two sons, Jacques (Patricia Casas) of Dieppe, Colin (Shannon Léger) of Oromocto; one sister, Emélia Ouellet (Abbey) of Moncton; one brother, Adrien of Cocagne; four precious grandchildren, Mélanie, Mireille, Isaac and Emma; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Armand.

Albert was very dedicated to his family and community, having been part of the founding of the Cocagne Recreational Council which hosted the International Regattas and the Bazar Acadien and numerous other community organizations. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus (local chapter and 4th degree) and the Saint-Pierre-de-Cocagne parish. His career as a businessman began with the popular Cocagne dance hall, and later he co-founded Atlantic Roofers Ltd. and helped manage several restaurants such as Chez Léo in Shediac Bridge and other businesses. Until recently, he was in the real estate and tourism sectors. Albert enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as traveling.

Visitation will be held at Passage in Shediac Bridge on Tuesday, May 4th, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, also on Wednesday, May 5th, from 2 to 3:30 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church on Wednesday, May 5th at 4 pm.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Claude Goguen

Cocagne – Claude Goguen, 53, passed away at the General Hospital in St.John, NB on Sunday, June 6, 2010 after a sudden illness.

Born in Cocagne on June 22, 1956, he was the son of Elphège and Florence (Allain) Goguen.

Claude will sadly be missed by his wife, Suzanne (Cormier); son, Dominique of Alberta; two daughters, Jacqueline (Philippe) of Bouctouche and Elisabeth at home; his parents of Cocagne; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one infant son, Thomas.

Visitations will be held at the Cocagne RC Church Slumber room on Thursday, June 10th from 2 to 4 pm and from 5:30 pm until time of the funeral. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church on Thursday, June 10th at 7 pm.

Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Cocagne – Yvon Gaudet, 67, passed away suddenly at the Moncton City Hospital on Tuesday, July 13.

Born in Moncton on November 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Adrice and Laura (Arsenault)Gaudet.

Yvon will sadly be missed by his wife Rose-Marie (Cormier); his son Fernand Gaudet (Miguelle) Pointe Sapin; two daughters, Joanne Allain (Jean), Solange Cormier (Emile Junior) both from Bouctouche Sud; two brothers, Normand Gaudet (Rita), Omer Gaudet (Suzanne) both from Grand-Barachois; five sisters, Florence Richard (Norbert) Jeannine LeBlanc (Archille) both from Haute Aboujagan, Stella LeBlanc (Roland) from Grand-Barachois Murielle LeBlanc (Michel) Dartmouth, NS, Claudette Boucher (Gérald) Shediac Bridge; four grandchildren, Remi, Rejean, Isabelle and Melanie; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one brother, Edgar; and two sisters, Yollande and Geneva.

By the family’s request, there will be visitations at the Eglise du Plein Evangile former (Old LeBlanc Building Supply) 41 Girouard Ville Road, Bouctouche, Friday, July 16th from 2pm-4pm and from 7pm-9pm, again on Saturday, from 2pm till time of the funeral at 4pm. Funeral celebration will be celebrated by Pastor Silas Matchett on, July, 17th, at the Eglise du Plein Evangile.

Normand Cormier

Cocagne – Normand Cormier, 51, passed away suddenly at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 11th, 2011.

Born in Cocagne on February 25th, 1960, he was the son of Ulric and Alida Cormier.

Normand will be sadly missed by his special friend, Louisa Poirier; his son, Jérémie of Cocagne; his three brothers, Roger (Rose) of Bouctouche, Donald ( Dorothy) and Maurice both of Cocagne; three sisters, Diane Cormier (Terry) of Moncton, Murielle O’Brien (Danny) of St-Anselme, Janice Bastarache (Lenny) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitations will be held at St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church slumber room in Cocagne on Thursday, April 14th from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Friday, April 15th from 9:30 am till time of the funeral. Funeral service will be celebrated at the St-Pierre-de-Cocagne RC Church in Cocagne on Friday, April 15th at 11 am.

Donations to donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
