Olive (Ollie) Betty Quigley
1943 - 2004
Following a brief illness, Mrs. Olive Betty Quigley, 60, wife of M. Douglas Quigley, of New Port Richey, Florida, and formerly of Back Bay, NB, passed away in Florida on May 13, 2004. Born in Back Bay, NB on September 27, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Marie (Oliver) Leavitt. Besides her husband, Ollie is survived by one son, Mickey (Amy) of New Port Richey, Florida; one daughter, Shelly Guzik (Gerry) of Minden, ON; four grandchildren, Mike and Christopher of Ontario, and Ryan and Summer of Florida; six sisters, Mary, Alice, Lorna, Edna, Blanche, and Theresa; five brothers, Redmond, Charles, Clayton, Lorne and Allen; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one grandson, Billy Guzik.
Ollie and her husband moved to Florida in 1975, where she had been a grocery store clerk at Winn-Dixie.
Resting at Sea View Full Gospel Assembly, Back Bay, NB from where the service will be held on Wednesday, May 19 at 2 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating, followed by interment in the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday. Annie Hopenia Hardy
Peacefully, at Yvonne’s Special Care Home, Titusville, NB on May 16, 2004, Mrs. Annie Hopenia Hardy, 92, wife of the late Perley Hardy. Born in Digby, Nova Scotia on November 19, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Edward Chase Campbell and Stella Rose Neill (Dixon) Campbell. She is survived by one son, Stephen of Saint John, NB; two daughters, Gladys LaKing of Saint John, NB and Dorothy Westcott of L’Etete, NB; two sisters, Kathleen Campbell of Pocologan, NB and Marion “Ruby” Boyd of Pennfield, NB; several grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special care giver, Mary L. Chiasson. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, Wally, Burpie and Neddie, and three sisters, Ethel, Mildred and Eva.
In her earlier years, Annie had worked as a fish packer for Connor’s Bros. Ltd., Blacks Harbour, NB. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held in the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 am, followed by interment in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Audrey Lillian Hennessey
Peacefully, at the Woolastook Manor, Gagetown, NB on May 20, 2004, Mrs. Audrey Lillian Hennessey, 97, wife of the late George Hennessey, and formerly of St. George, NB. Born in Plympton, Nova Scotia on October 18, 1906, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Susie (Tucker) MacDonald.
Audrey is survived by her god-daughter, Mary Christie and her family, of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Adeline MacDonald of St. Stephen, NB; and several nieces and nephews.
Audrey was the oldest member in the Granite Chapter #15 OES in St. George, NB and a former member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. George, NB. She was a telephone pioneer, working for NB Tel as an Operator, and worked for the Moncton City Hospital as a Switchboard Operator for many years.
A graveside service will be held on Friday afternoon, May 21st, at 2:30 pm, at the St. George Roman Catholic Cemetery, with Rev. Canon David Genge officiating.

Visiting hours at the Funeral Home will take place on Friday, 12 noon - 2 pm.

Edith Lois Jacobson
1916 - 2004
The death of Edith Lois Jacobson, of Back Bay, NB, wife of the late Earl Jacobson, occurred on Thursday, June 3, 2004, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB. Born in Back Bay, NB on August 22, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Fred Frye and Pearl French.
Edith was a secretary for Paul Revere Insurance, Worcester, Mass.. She is survived by one brother, Taylor Frye of Utopia, NB; one sister, Rowena Rae of Rothesay, NB; several nieces and nephews. Edith was pre-deceased by four sisters, Heloise Frye, Lillian Grant, Pearl Taylor and Edna Garlind; and six brothers, Neil, Fred, Carmen, Millend, Ronald and Donald.
No visitation by family request. A private graveside service was held on Sunday, June 6, 2004, at 2 pm at St. George Rural Cemetery, with Rev. David Haddon officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to St. George Funeral Home, (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Those who wish may make a donation through the funeral home to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Farren Glen Hanley
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB, on Saturday June 5, 2004, the death of Mr. Farren Glen Hanley of Pennfield, NB, husband of Margaret “Maggie“ Louise (Higgins) Hanley.
Born in Blacks Harbour NB, on March 10, 1960, he was a son of the late Hollis Percy Cook and the late Treva Belle (Harris) Hanley. Farren worked as a labourer for Connors Brothers and Larry Foster. Suriving besides his loving wife Maggie, Farren will be missed and always loved by his children, Joel (Amanda) and daughters Aimee (Jeff) and Lynnsi, and his loving grandson Zachary; eight sisters, Crystal Parks (Gary), Vickie Mersereau (Kevin), Rhoda Kernighan (Michael), Patricia Taylor (Larry Sr.), Twila McLaughlin (David), Debra Hanley, Marla McGee, and Lorraine Hanley (Billy); five brothers, James Hanley (Edith), Randall Hanley (Christine), Ross Hanley (Betty), Eldon Hanley (Marilyn), and Maynard Hanley (Ellen); one uncle; two aunts; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Evangeline Higgins; one brother-in-law and four sisters-in-law; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Farren was predeceased by a brother, Clark Hanley and a sister, Edna Hooper. A devoted family man, Farren was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved music. He especially enjoyed spending time and playing with his grandson Zachary.

The service will be held on Wednesday June 9, 2004 from Christ Church (Anglican) in Pennfield, NB, at 11:00 am. with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. Ellen Bernice Scharfenberg
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on August 8, 2004, Mrs. Ellen Bernice (Steen) Scharfenberg, wife of Randolph Scharfenberg of Fundy Bay Drive, St. George, NB. Born in Saint John, NB on July 16, 1941, she was a daughter of William A. and Blanche Mae (Wilcox) Steen of St. George. A loving wife, daughter, mother and sister, she is survived, besides her husband and parents, by one daughter, Dianne Joyce Scharfenberg and her fiancé , J. Randy Madeley, of Richmond Hill, Ontario; one step-son, Wayne Howard of Elliot Lake, Ontario; one brother, Russell Steen and his fiancée, Olive Brown, of Breadalbane, NB; one sister, Sheila McCourt (David) of Arden, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ellen and her husband recently moved to St. George from Milltown, NB. She had been employed as a mail clerk for the AECB (Atomic Energy Control Board) of Mississauga, Ontario. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533), with visiting on Friday, August 13th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the funeral home. Edward Judson Leavitt
Peacefully, at the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB on August 12, Mr. Edward Judson Leavitt, 89, husband of Hilda Leta (Harris) Leavitt of Back Bay, NB. Born in Back Bay, NB on August 4, 1915, he was a son of the late Edward Leavitt and Tena Etta Kent.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Edward is survived, besides his wife, by two sons, Gaston (Glenna) Leavitt of Back Bay and Laren (Peggy) Leavitt of St. Stephen; two daughters, Eunice (Alden) Lord of Back Bay and Marcia (Arthur) Heaysman of Saint John; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marshall (Helen) of Sussex; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his mother, Edward was pre-deceased by one grandson, Stephen Tinker.
Edward had been a fisherman by trade, working for himself, and also for Connors Bros. Ltd. He especially loved horses.
Resting at Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, NB with visiting on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church at 2 pm Sunday, with Rev. Eleanor Elizabeth Justason
The death of Mrs. Eleanor Elizabeth (Goditt) Gaudet Justason, of Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, NB., formerly of Pennfield, NB, wife of the late Alden Cleveland Justason (Allie), occurred at her residence on Saturday, August 14, 2004.
Born at Weymouth North, Digby Co., NS., on October 6, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Frederick George Gaudet and Ethel Delila (Weaver) Gaudet.
Eleanor is survived by one son; Cleveland Justason (Mary Ann) of Pennfield; one sister; Ethel Doucette of Blacks Harbour; two half sisters; Julia Hawkins of St. George, NB; and Juanita Cheney of Saint John; one half brother; Stephen Fowler Frederick Gaudett of L’Etete, NB; several nieces, nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; Hanford Gaudett, and William Gaudett; one sister Kathleen Cooke; two half sisters, Velma Leeman; and Jenny Patterson.
Eleanor worked many years as a cook at the Fundy Health Center, Blacks Harbour, NB. She was a member of the Harbour View Senior Citizens Club, a member of the Calvary United Baptist Church, Past Grand Mistress, Right Worshipful Grand Lodge, NB, a member of the Crystal Chapter # 13, Saint John, NB, Honorary member of Pythian Sisters Maple Leaf # 30, Milltown, NB, and a member of the L.O.B.A. # 934 Lepreau, NB., over 50 years.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533), with visiting on Monday, August 16, 2004, from 7 to 9 pm., Tuesday August 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
The service will be held at Calvary United Baptist Church, Blacks Harbour, NB, on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 2: 00 pm with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.

The Ladies Orange Benevolent Association will hold a Memorial Service on Tuesday evening 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
