Mildred Frances Hawkins
Hawkins, Mildred (Mid) F. (Stuart) of Pennfield N.B. peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital on Tuesday, August 17, 2004.
Survived by one daughter, Carole of Richmond Hill, Ont. three sons, Stuart (Dianne) of Pennfield, Barrie of Richmond Hill, Ont. and Dwight (Jaye) of Fredericton, one sister Kathleen of Fredericton, four grand-children and two great grandchildren. Predeceased by infant daughter Charlotte Gail, husband Alfred, twin sister Grace, sisters Marion and Christine and brother Chauncey.
Mid was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was known for her lively converstion and wonderful apple pie. She was forever young and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB (755-3533), with visiting on Thursday, August 19, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
The service will be held from the Pennfield United Baptist Church on Friday, August 20, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Grant Alcorn officiating. Interment to follow in Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care Unit of the Charlotte County Hospital, Hospice of Charlotte Inc., Pennfield United Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Marion Laura Leslie
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on August 23, 2004, Mrs. Marion Laura (McInnis) Leslie, 80, wife of Richard Archie Leslie, of St. George, NB.
Born on March 19, 1924 in Lowell, Mass., USA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Bugbee McInnis (1882-1959) and Selina (Cowdell) McInnis (1896-1987). A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Richard; one son, Archie (Darlene) of St. George; four grandsons, Michael, Joseph, Scott and Dwayne; three great-grandchildren, Trent, Athena and Diedra; several cousins and nieces. Marion was predeceased by one brother, Walter McInnis and three sisters, Rheta Matthews, Viola Keniston and Grace Bigney. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Marion was the co-owner of Leslie’s Groceries in St. George. Resting at the Church of Christ, Back Bay, with visiting on Tuesday, August 24th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will held from the church at 2 pm on Wednesday with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating, followed by interment in the Cummings Cove Cemetery, Deer Island, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the IWK or the Shriners “Charlotte County Transportation Fund”, or a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family. Judy Elaine Little
The death of Judy Elaine Little, wife of Fred Little of Greens Point Road, L’Etete, NB, occurred on Monday, August 23, 2004, at her residence. Born in Saint John, NB on April 14, 1944, she was a daughter of the late A. Dudley Hunter and the late C. Elaine (Goss) Hunter. Besides her husband, Fred, she is survived by a son, Robyn Little of L’Etete, NB; one sister, Janet Pauline Hunter of St. Andrews, NB; a grandson, Jesse Little; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
No visitation by family request. A memorial service will take place at Green’s Point Lighthouse on Saturday, August 28th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family. Charlotte Jane (Stewart) Snider
The death of Charlotte Jane (Stewart) Snider of Woolastook Manor, Gagetown, NB formerly of Welsford, NB, widow of Joseph Herbert Stewart, occurred on Thursday, August 26, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Midland, NB on June 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Isabella (MacInroy) McAllister.
Charlotte is survived by three daughters, Ellen Coulombe (Roger) of Clarendon, NB, Jeannie Kennedy (Robert) of Hatfield’s Point, NB, and Carolyn Katelnikoff of Nerepis, NB; four sons, Thomas Ellis of Welsford, NB, Timothy Peter Ellis (Arla) of Tracy, NB, Roy Neil Ellis (Yin) of Richmond, BC, Joseph Stewart of Hamilton, ON; two sisters, Patricia Angus (Arnold) of Dundolk, ON, Ellen Giesbrecht of Stoney Creek, ON; one brother, James McAllister of Waterdown, ON; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Robert John Ellis; brother, Roy McAllister; two sisters, Marion McAllister and Myrene McAllister; second husband, Stan Snider.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting hours on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
The service will be held on Monday, August 30th, from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the St. George Funeral Home, at 2 pm, with Rev. Fred Gay officiating. Interment will take place in the St. George Rural Cemetery immediately following the service.

Lorne Elmer McGarrigle
1926 - 2004
Peacefully, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB, on September 2, 2004, Mr. Lorne Elmer McGarrigle, husband of Helen (Justason) McGarrigle, of Blacks Harbour, NB, and the late Donaldine (Bradford) McGarrigle.
Born at St. George, NB, on April 4, 1926, he was a son of the late James M. and Seretha (Leavitt) McGarrigle. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Lorne is survived, besides his wife, by three sons, Lorne Jr. “Sonny” (Pam) of Halifax, NS, Colin (Ruth) of Pennfield, NB, Frank (Norene) of Blacks Harbour, NB; four daughters, Brenda (Norman) Gaudet of Pennfield, NB, Lorna (Gorman) Harris of Utopia, Mary Bustard of Langley, BC, Coralee Sommerville of Baxter’s Corner, NB; 19 grandchildren, 13 great – grandchildren; five brothers, James McGarrigle, Kenny McGarrigle, Gerald McGarrigle, all of Blacks Harbour, NB, Everett McGarrigle of Tracadie, NB, and Wesley McGarrigle, of St. Stephen, NB; three sisters, Florence Leavitt of Back Bay, NB, Doris Nason, of St. George, NB, and Emma Maillet, of Blacks Harbour, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Donaldine, and two sisters, Mary Walsh and Linda Matheson, and one brother William.
Lorne worked for 54years for Connors Bros. Ltd. as a labourer. For the last 15 years of his working career, he worked at the Fundy Arena until his retirement. He was an avid sports fan and took active part in the local sports circuit, having been one of the founding fathers of the Blacks Harbour Silver Kings and former owner of the Blacks Harbour Junior Silver Kings. He also was Head Coach and General Manager for the former Blacks Harbour Brunswicks Baseball Team for many years. He enjoyed fishing and claming and was an honorary member of the Charlotte Fundy Kins Club.
Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour, NB, from where the service will be held on Sunday, Septembter 5, 2004 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bruce Cheney officating. Visiting hours at the church on Friday and Saturday, September 3 & 4th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Interment will follow at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. In Lorne’s memory, in lieu of flowers, dnations to the Fundy Nursing Home Expansion Project, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Elvina Marie Legere
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on September 15, 2004, Mrs. Elvina Marie (Vautour) Legere, wife of the late Emile Joseph Legere, of Pennfield, NB. Born in Rogersville, NB on July 27, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Levian J. and Adeline (Caissie) Vautour. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two sons, Roger Legere (Linda Daigle) of Saint John, NB and Rheal (“Ray”) and Louise Leger of Pennfield, NB; four grandchildren, Andrew and Laurie, William and Terrence; one sister, Alice Mealey (Edgar) of Pennfield; one brother, Leo Vautour of Pennfield; and her special companion, Odilas Chevarie of Blacks Harbour, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased, besides her husband, by one son, Edgar; one brother, Frank Vautour; one sister, Frances Belliveau.
Elvina was a member of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour, and was very active in the C.W.L. for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Eastern Charlotte Lions Club, and was an active volunteer at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour for many years. She was a receipient of many provincial and municipal awards for her volunteerism, and was an avid Bingo player.
Rested at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday at 11 am from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Blacks Harbour, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Vigil Prayers were said at the Funeral Home on Friday at 8:00 pm. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice, would be appreciated by the family.
Josephine Rebecca Spear
Josephine (Jo) Rebecca (Harlow) Spear passed away at York Manor in Fredericton on Saturday, September 18, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, David James of Fredericton and Bill (Lynn) of Saint John, six daughters, Joanne Maxwell (Glenn) of Saint John, Barb Maxwell (Norman O’Brien) of Saint John, Joyce Spear of Fredericton, Judy Banks (Bill) of Fredericton, Beth Spear (Jim Goldrich) of Saint John, and Deenie Wilson (Gil) of L’Etete, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great- grandchildren. Jo was predeceased by her husband, Bernard (Bun) Taylor Spear, son Robert Murray Spear, grandson Andrew Maxwell and son-in-law Gene Maxwell.
Bun and Jo spent their married life and raised their nine children in Seeleys Cove, NB. After Bun’s death in 1984, Jo moved to Fredericton. She suffered a stroke in 1995 and has been a resident of York Manor since that time. She will be sadly missed by her children and her friends at York Manor who gave her such affectionate care over the past ten years.

Robert Alan Willis Waring
At the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 25, 2004, Robert Alan Willis Waring, in his 63rd year, son of the late Robert Waring and Louise (Bentley) (Waring) McColgan.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Brenda (nee MacVicar) of Mascarene; three sons, Bobby (Suzanne) of Prince of Wales, Jody (Theresa) of Saint John, and Matthew at home; two grandsons, Jared and Billy, and his special girls, Molly and Michaela; his best friend, Ernest Hatt, along with his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held at the L’Etete Church of Christ, L’Etete, NB on Wednesday, September 29th at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Giles Mullen officiating.
