McKay, Harry Thomas

McKAY, Harry Thomas - The passing of Harry Thomas McKay, husband of Effie Marie (Raymond) McKay, of Zealand, N.B., occurred on March 20, 2007 at his home. Born on March 5, 1926, in Portage, P.E.I., he was a son of the late John Robert and Virginia Ethel (Wilson) McKay.
Harry was a woods worker and a member of the Burtt’s Corner Jesus Name Pentecostal Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tersa May Mattix, of Saint John, N.B.; one son, John Robert (Jackie Estabrooks) McKay, at home; four grandchildren, Brandan, Dallien, CJ and Bailey; three sisters, Phyllis Milligan (Gordon), of P.E.I., Wilma McCartney, of Elmsdale, N.B., and Shirley Tadden, of Elmsville, N.B.; one brother, Emmerson McKay, of Deer Island, N.B.; one half-brother, Vernon Boyles, of P.E.I.; one sister-in-law, Sheila McKay, of Deer Island, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Virginia Rose; stepfather, Henry Boyles; two sisters, Edith and Bell McKay; five brothers, Roy, Arthur, Gerald, Angus and Wilson; one sister-in-law, Pearl Calder; and step-brother, Charles Boyles.
Visitation will be at the Honeydale Pentecostal Church, Honeydale, N.B., on Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held from the church on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lewis Seeley and Rev. Sydney Haines officiating, with Pastor Garry Hanley assisting.
Interment will take place at Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, N.B.
For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Cossaboom, Eugene W.

COSSABOOM, Eugene W. - Mr. Eugene W. Cossaboom, 83, of North Head, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007.
The family is extending an invitation and will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday evening, Feb. 21, 2007, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Ells Funeral Home for a time of fellowship and reflection.
Arrangements are in the care of Ells Funeral Home, 1199 Route 776, Grand Manan, NB E5G 1G2.

Anderson, Maxine Esther

ANDERSON, Maxine Esther – On Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Maxine Esther Anderson left this earthly life and heeded the gentle and loving call of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to enter her heavenly home. Born Jan. 12, 1932 in Andersonville, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Una (Meredith) Robinson.
Maxine was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a faithful member of the McAdam Independent Baptist Church.
Predeceased by her husband, Harvey Wallace Anderson, on Dec. 1, 2006 and a brother, Glendon Robinson.
Maxine leaves behind five loving and devoted children: one daughter, Luanne Anderson, of Bangor, Me.; four sons, Rodney (Debbie), of Saint John, N.B., Raymond (Marie), of Rumford, Me., Dale (Patty), of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Greg (Judy), of McAdam, N.B. Her memory will be forever cherished by her eight grandchildren, Daniel, Kristi, Darren and Stacy, of Saint John, N.B., Matthew and Bruce, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jennifer and Jason, of McAdam, N.B. Also survived by three brothers, Kenneth Robinson, of Blacks Harbour, N.B., Darrell (Muriel) Robinson, of Moncton, N.B., and Donald (Betty) Robinson, of Andersonville, N.B.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB on Thursday, March 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the Rockland Drive United Baptist Church on Friday, March 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 2 p.m., from the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

McLaughlin, Linward (Lenny) Lawrence

McLAUGHLIN, Linward (Lenny) Lawrence - At Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Feb. 20, 2007, Linward (Lenny) Lawrence McLaughlin, of Rolling Dam, N.B., son of the late Joseph Ottis and Ruby A. (Fairweather) McLaughlin.
Survived by his wife, Gail L. McAllen; two sons, David (Ralee), Fredericton, N.B., and Daniel (Crissy Ann), McAdam, N.B.; two granddaughters, Kara Jane and Madison; one aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Interment at Rolling Dam United Church Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.

DOUGLAS, Margaret Sara – At her residence, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 16, 2007, Margaret Sara (Thurston) Douglas.
Survived by her husband, Mathias Roy; 11 children, Royce (Linda) Thurston, of Flume Ridge, N.B., Gerald (Carol) Douglas, of Ontario, Eugene (Karen) Douglas, of St. Stephen, N.B., Carl (Jamie) Douglas, of Ontario, Diane (Gus), of British Columbia, Linda Douglas (Frank), of Ontario, Sue Doyle (Gus), of St. Stephen, N.B., Debra Curran (Jimmy), of St. Stephen, N.B., Freda Guzzo (Gerald), of Ontario, Nancy Douglas (Geraldine), of St. Stephen, N.B., and Karen Scribner (Louis), Calais, Me.; one sister, Addie Leavitt; four brothers, Bill Thurston, Byron Thurston, Donnie Thurston and David Williams; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, William Douglas; son, John Douglas; sisters, Freda Bray and Ruth Laking.
Rested at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service was held Monday, March 19, 2007 at 3 p.m., with Rev. Douglas McLean officiating.
Visiting was held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Interment at the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, N.B.

Survived by her nine children: Sandra Dever, Franklin (Aldana) Babcock, William (Nadine) Babcock, Paul (Debbie) Babcock, Nancy White (Ronald), Timothy (Mary) Babcock, Thomas (Joanne) Babcock, Larry (Pam) Babcock, and Jeffrey (Rose) Babcock; son-in-law, Larry Doherty; grandchildren, Angie Reid, Robert Dever, Paul, Michael and Michelle Doherty, Michael, David and Megan Babcock, Eric Babcock, Kayla and Nicole Babcock, Randy, Scott and Amanda White, Krista, Jeffery and Jennifer Babcock, Jessica, Jamie and Shannon Babcock, Joseph and Brandon Babcock, Dennis and Fallon Weeks, Abbie and Cara Babcock; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband; daughter, Sharon; son, Bobby; son-in-law, Frederick Dever; two sisters and five brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Paul Riley, Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 10 a.m., from St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen, N.B.
The family received friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Interment at the Milltown Catholic Cemetery, Barter Settlement, N.B.

HEELIS, Donald Bedson - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Feb. 25, 2007, Donald Bedson Heelis, of St. Stephen, N.B., formerly of Granby, Que.
Survived by his wife, Maude (Willey) Heelis; one son, Peter (Nora) Heelis, St. Stephen, N.B.; one daughter, Nancy Jane Dunn (Robert), Nassau, Bahamas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Phillips, Orangeville, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one son, Donald Robin Heelis.

Interment at Pinewood Cemetery, Granby, Que.

YEO, Vincent Eustace – At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on March 15, 2007, Vincent Eustace Yeo, of Saint John, N.B.; son of the late George Yeo and Janie (MacDonald) (Yeo) Kaine; born April 30, 1929, in Prince Edward Island.
Survived by one daughter, Tenie McArthur, of Guelph, Ont.; two stepsons, Minor and Lawrence Arsenault; one sister, Rena Folland, of St. Stephen, N.B.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one special nephew and wife, with whom he had made his home for several years, Gary and Diane Yeo, of Saint John, N.B.
Predeceased by one daughter, Janie; one grandson, Ricky; four brothers, Lloyd, Eldon, Horace and Alfred; three sisters, Catherine Shaw, June Caissie and Annie Yeo; and stepfather, Fred Kaine, of McAdam, N.B.
Rested at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service was held Monday, March 19, 2007 at 12 noon, with Rev. Eric Caldwell officiating.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Interment in the Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B.

DeMERCHANT, Ralph Aden - At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, Ralph Aden DeMerchant, 88, of St. Stephen, N.B.; son of the late William and Elizabeth (Wallace) DeMerchant.
Survived by his wife, Mary; one son, James (Linda) DeMerchant, St. Stephen, N.B.; grandchildren, great- grandchildren; two brothers, two sisters, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one son, five brothers and one sister.
No visitation will be held by request.
A memorial service will be held in Larlee Creek, N.B., in the spring.
Interment in the Larlee Creek Cemetery.
