MEREDITH, Frederick Charles – At his residence, Chamcook, N.B., on March 23, 2007, Frederick Charles Meredith, son of the late Leslie and Lucy (Wilson) Meredith.
Survived by his wife, Mabel (White) Meredith; one daughter, Andrea Hooper (Dale), St. George, N.B.; one son, Nathan Meredith, Chamcook, N.B.; one grandson, Alex Hooper; special friend, Marguerite Mitchell, Chamcook, N.B.; one brother, Earl Meredith, Moncton, N.B.; four sisters, Alice Babineau, Shirley Wall (Wilbur), Isobel Cudmore (Wes), of Moncton, N.B., and Stella Farlow (Mickey), Ontario; several nieces and nephews
Funeral service was held from The Bye the Sea Full Gospel Assembly, Queen Street, St. Andrews, N.B., on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Philip Anderson and Rev. Stephen Townes officiating.
Interment at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the A.L.S. Society, building fund of Passamaquoddy Lodge, or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Haney, James Ralph
James Ralph Haney, 47, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2007 at Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. James was born Feb. 27, 1959, in St. Stephen, the son of Paul and Hazel (McKenzie) Haney.
His father was killed in a truck accident in 1967, and his mother remarried in 1970. So Hazel, with James and his three brothers, moved to Alexander, Me., to live with Paul Dwelley.
James was a long-haul truck driver most of his life and drove two million miles in 17 yars, anywhere from St. Johns, Nfld., to California.
James is survived by three brothers, Ken Haney, David Haney and Donald Haney; a daughter, Beverly Kerr; three grandchildren, Corey McKnight, Zachary Williams and Nathan Lunn.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at 2 p.m., at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Calais.
Spring burial will take place at Alexander Cemetery, Alexander, Me.
Matthews, Hollis Don
MATTHEWS, Hollis Don - In loving memory of Hollis Don Matthews, 75, who passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 after a long courageous battle, at the SRH-St. Joseph's Health Centre. Hollis was born on April 25, 1931 in L’Etete, N.B.
Beloved father of Terri Matthews, of London, Ont., Kathy Martikkala (Asko), of Sudbury, Ont., Dale (Ghislaine), of Ignace, Ont., and Donald, of Vancouver, B.C.; cherished grandfather of Katie, Kale, Jason, Kris, Andrew and Dylan. He will be missed by his dear friend, Rita McBain, and by the children's mother, Pat (Richardson) Matthews.
Beloved son of Donald and Bertha (Wright) Matthews, predeceased. Dear brother of Herbert (wife Rheta, predeceased), Carol Hall (husband Jack, predeceased), Doreen Lyons (Carol). Predeceased by his sister, Anna Hope. Sadly missed by 10 nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Funeral service will be held in the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Sudbury, ON P3C 4C8 (1-800-461-0159), on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11 a.m.
Interment in the Waters Cemetery.

Banks, Norma Mildred
BANKS, Norma Mildred - Norma Mildred Banks, 76, of White Head Island, N.B., went to be with the Lord after a period of failing health, on Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, 2007 at the Grand Manan Hospital, with her children by her side. Born at North Head, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Doris (Dunbar) Lambert.
When Norma married Sherwin in 1952, she made her life in the beautiful community of White Head. Being a Christian, she was a devoted member of the White Head Baptist Church. Norma enjoyed and loved the blessings in her life, whether it was caring for her family, spending time with them and watching them grow, tending her garden, or just feeding and watching birds come and go out in the yard. She appreciated life and looked forward to her new life with Christ and will be missed by all who were fortunate to know her until they meet her again.
She is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Mark) Colwell and Ann (Phillip) Colwell; one son, Rev. John (Carrie) Banks, all of White Head Island, N.B.; two brothers, Judson (Eileen) Lambert, of Brockville, Ont., and Herbert (Faith) Lambert, of North Head, N.B.; one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Laurent) Thibodeau, of Meteghan, N.S.; one brother-in-law, Richard Brooks, of White Head, N.B.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sherwin, and one sister, Molly Myring.
Visiting hours were held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the White Head Baptist Church.
The funeral service took place from the Church on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating.
Interment followed in the White Head Community Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations be made to the White Head Baptist Church Building Fund.

Hettrick, Nelson Gilbert
HETTRICK, Nelson Gilbert - Nelson Gilbert Hettrick, 83, of Woodwards Cove, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital, Grand Manan, N.B., on Friday, March 30, 2007. Born in St. Catherines, Ont., he was the son of the late Clarence and Clara Hettrick.
Nelson served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942-1945 and later moved to Grand Manan Island and worked as a fisherman. He later worked as a butcher at the Newton Store, and finished his working career at the Save Easy grocery store on Grand Manan, where he was known and well liked by his many customers.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; one daughter, Colleen Patterson (Pat), of Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S.; one son, Chris Hettrick (Rhonda), of Deep Cove, N.B.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also one stepson, Glen.
He was predeceased by his brother, Maurice.
The family received friends and relatives for visiting at Ells Funeral Home on Sunday.
The funeral service took place from the Grand Harbour United Baptist Church on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. George Clark officiating.
The interment followed at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family has requested that donations may be made to the Ivan Green Scholarship Fund, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Charlotte County Cancer Society.

Mullen, Sharon Ann
MULLEN, Sharon Ann - Unexpectedly, at her residence in L'Etete, N.B., on Feb. 27, 2007, Mrs. Sharon Ann (Wright) Mullen, wife of the Rev. Giles Mullen of L'Etete, N.B. Born in Digby, N.S., on April 30, 1956, she was a daughter of Jesse and Georgina (Duran) Wright.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and grandmother, she is survived, besides her husband, Giles, by, her parents, Jesse and Georgina Wright, of Weaver Settlement, N.S.; three sons, Troy Stone, of Sydenham, Ont., Derek (Shannon Mullen) Stone, of Easton, N.S., and Rodney (Denise Mullen), of Southville, N.S.; two daughters, Jeannie (Kelly) Mullen, of Hasset, N.S., and Georgina Stone (Joey Blanchard), of Coberrie, N.S.; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Harry (Glenda) Wright and Raymond (Wendy) Wright, both of Weaver Settlement, N.S., Wayne (Claudette) Wright, of Havlock, N.S., and Aaron (Sandra) Wright, of Weymouth, N.S.; four sisters, Joanne (Jeff) Mullen, of Weaver Settlement, N.S., Cindy (Thomas), of Ontario, Melanie Wright, of Weymouth, N.S., and Amanda (Danny) Hill, of Hilltown, N.S.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sharon was predeceased by one brother, Kevin Wright.
Sharon was a loving and devoted pastor's wife. She was involved in various church and ladies missionary groups. She assisted her husband in his various pastoral duties and was known to be very active and involved in various charitable causes over the years. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Resting at the Southville Church of Christ, Southville, N.S., with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The service will be held at the church on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Merle Zimmerman and Rev. Tom Marshall officiating.
Interment in the church cemetery.

Survived by one daughter, Donna Tymstra, of St. Stephen, N.B.; three grandchildren, Darrell Dempsey (Cheryl), Ron Dempsey, and Rick Dempsey (Amanda); three great- grandchildren; two nieces, Pat Getchell and Carol McBride; and two nephews, Ron and John McBride.
No visitation will be held by request.
Funeral Service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, Prince William Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 11 a.m.
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.

Scott, Madeline Averil
SCOTT, Madeline Averil - Peacefully, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, N.B., on March 27, 2007, Mrs. Madeline Averil (McLaughlin) Scott, wife of the late Melvin Roy Scott. Born in Honeydale, N.B., on May 1, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Nettie (Scott) McLaughlin.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by three sons, Eric (Emely), of Pennfield, N.B., Brian, of Fredericton, N.B., and James (Mary), of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; three daughters, Melva Murray, of Blacks Harbour, N.B., Brenda (Malcolm) Tucker, of Pennfield, N.B., and Juliette Scott, of St. Stephen, N.B.; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; four brothers, Burns, Charles, Neil and Vance; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, Melvin, she was predeceased by four sons, Claude, Stephen, Allan and Larry; one grandson, Peter Scott; two brothers, Adrian and Victor; two sisters, Pearl Merchant and Jenny Hayes.
Maddie worked as a nurse’s aid in the health care profession for a number of years, finding work at both the Fundy Hospital and Collingwood Nursing Home. Following her career in the medical field, she went to work for Connor’s Bros. until her retirement. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and enjoyed quilting and seamstress work.
Rested at the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour, N.B., from where the service was held on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the Blacks Harbour Community Cemetery.
Visiting was at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In Maddie’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

McGrath, Dianne L.
McGRATH, Dianne L. - Dianne L. McGrath (Lindsay), 56, wife of William "Bill" McGrath, died Feb. 26, 2007 at a Bangor hospital, Bangor, Me. She was born Jan. 19, 1951, in St. Stephen, N.B., the eldest daughter of Hazen Andrew and Olive Mae (Caldwell) Lindsay.
Dianne worked for many years as a registered nurse and clinical nurse manager at both the Levinson Center and Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center, Bangor, Me. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games, especially Pogo and poker. She was also a Red Sox fan.
In addition to her husband in Bangor, and her parents in St. Stephen, she is survived by two daughters, Lindsay McGrath, of New York, N.Y., and Maria Coates and her husband, Steven, currently stationed in San Angelo, Tx.; three stepchildren, Jeff Santo, Kimberly Pigony and Kelly Turner; two grandchildren, Cloey and Daniel Coates; one sister, Wanda Pollock and her husband, Gary, of Calais, Me.; two brothers, Donald Lindsay and his wife, Debbie, and Peter Lindsay and his wife, Christina, all of St. Stephen, N.B.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 2, at Foley Funeral Service, Bangor, Me. Burial will be held at a later date at the Old Ridge Cemetery, Old Ridge, N.B.
