Tatton, Eunice Merle
On May 22, 2007 at the Grand Manan Hospital, Grand Manan, N.B., with her four children's comforting caresses, our mom, Eunice Merle Tatton, 94, was called home to be with her loved ones and her Saviour Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully. Our mom was born to Clinton and Helen Ingersoll on April 1, 1913. She is reunited now with her loving husband, Harold, and her brother, Donald, who had gone on before her.
On June 6, 1936, Mum and Dad shared their vows and made a remarkable life together in Woodwards Cove. Raising her family, working hard, and leading a quiet Christian life were all values Mum will be remembered for. Our mom had a special gift of hospitality and lived to serve others.
All her big family remember her wonderful meals, and her cookie can became a symbol of her love for each one. Her home was always open and she entertained many unexpected friends and strangers. Her legacy was her warm, welcoming spirit and her unjudgemental desire for us all to know God personally. She turned her humble home into a source of comfort and love.
Mum also served many years in her church and taught Sunday School well into her 70s. We will miss her prayers.
We, her children -- Janice Guptill (Claude), of St. Andrews, N.B.; Helen Daggett (Claude), Seal Cove, N.B.; Marilyn Marsters (Ron), St. Stephen, N.B.; and Doug Tatton (Rosemary), Sussex, N.B., have given Mom 14 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived also by her brother, Wayne, whom she loved so much.
All were welcome to visit our family at the Central Wesleyan Church on Wednesday evening.
A happy celebration of her gracious life took place Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 3:30 p.m., from the church. Interment followed at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia.
Please honour Mum by donating to the Gideon Bibles, Central Wesleyan Church Building Memorial Fund, or to Bethany Bible College, Sussex.
Special thanks for the professional, loving and compassionate care provided by the staff of the Grand Manan Nursing Home and Hospital, as you doted on our mum and were so kind to us.
