Young, Elizabeth (Betty)
At Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, N.B., on June 1, 2007, Elizabeth (Betty) Young, of Oak Bay, Charlotte County, N.B.
Betty is survived by one son, Edward Young (Elva); two daughters, Gail Leachman (Donald) and Elizabeth Ames (David). Betty will be sadly missed by her three grandchildren, Michael Young (Wanda), Matthew Leachman, and Jill Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Young, and her step-grandchildren, John and Rachel Ames.
Predeceased by her husband, George Kenwood Young, and by one son, Michael.
A family service will be held at St. David’s Church, on Friday, June 8, 2007 at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Betty’s life at 59 Oak Haven Road at 2 p.m.
Donations to the Alzheimers Society or Lincourt Manor would be appreciated by the family.

Watters, D. Eileen
At St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on June 6, 2007, D. Eileen (Greenlaw, McGuire) Watters, widow of Frank P. Watters, St. Stephen, N.B.; daughter of the late Raymond L. and Mary A. (Stinson) Greenlaw, of Rolling Dam and St. Stephen, N.B.
Survived by two grandsons, Aaron McGuire, Florida, and Greg Merritt, Fredericton, N.B.; one brother, Carl Greenlaw, of Rolling Dam, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Interment at Rolling Dam Baptist Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Crosby, Dawna Raye (Darke)
The committal service for Dawna Raye (Darke) Crosby, formerly of Deer Island, and Fredericton, N.B., will be held Saturday, June 16, at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Richardson, Deer Island at 2 p.m. Pastor Terry Atkinson, of Brunswick Street Baptist Church, Fredericton, will be officiating.
A time of fellowship will follow.
McGrath, Dianne Lindsay
There will be a graveside service for Dianne Lindsay McGrath on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 3 p.m. (Cdn.), at the Old Ridge Cemetery, Old Ridge, N.B.
Price, Ida Marion
Peacefully, at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, N.B., on May 9, 2007, Mrs. I. Marion (Lee) Price, wife of the late Donald A. Price, formerly of St. George, N.B. Born in St. George on March 22, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Noble) Lee.
A loving aunt, she is survived by sisters-in-law, Myrtle Lee, of St. George, N.B., Helene Price, of Nackawic, N.B., and Marion Scott of Fredericton, N.B.; special friend, Hayes Tracy, of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Everett and Jed; and three sisters, Sadie Holt, Louise Kernighan and Celia Hoyt.
Prior to her retirement, Marion worked at the Post Office in St. George and for many years, along with her family, delivered the rural mail throughout the local area. She loved camping and was an avid dog lover. Marion will be fondly remembered as being a great cook. She was a member of the OES Granite Chapter No. 15 in St. George.
By Marion’s request there was no visiting, although there was a graveside service at the St. George Rural Cemetery on Saturday, May 13, 2007 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Mary Ann Langmaid officiating.
In her memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Fundy Nursing Home Chapel Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Parker, Shirley Merlene
Shirley Merlene Parker, 79, of Grand Harbour, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Grand Manan Hospital. Born in Grand Harbour, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Archie and Alva Green.
Shirley brought her family up in Grand Harbour with her late husband, Donald. In her early years, she worked as a sardine packer and boned smoked herring. Later she took a position working on the Grand Manan ferry for Coastal Transport as cook and worked alongside of Donald for many years, until their retirement in the early 1990’s.
Serving the Lord at the Central Wesleyan Church, she was at one time the secretary of the Sunday School and the Club House, and spending time at Beulah Camp to share in fellowship and worship in the summer was always a pleasure for Shirley. She loved to knit and rarely let her sickness near the end get her spirits down.
She is survived by her two daughters, Murice Guptill (David), and Doreen Sullivan (John), both of Grand Harbour, N.B.; her two sisters, Lona Urquhart, of North Head, N.B., and Doris Huckins, of Grand Harbour, N.B.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and her friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 2004; two brothers, Merrill Dakin and Laurence Green; and one grandchild, Marty David.
Visiting hours were held from Ells Funeral Home on Sunday, May 13.
The funeral service was held from Central Wesleyan Church on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Kirk Perry officiating.

Brown, Freeman William
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on May 12, 2007, Mr. Freeman William Brown, husband of the late Elizabeth Shirley Conley, of Hibernia Cove, N.B. Born on Campobello Island, N.B., on Sept. 8, 1924, he was a son of the late Asa and Zelma (Newman) Brown.
A loving father and grandfather, Freeman is survived by one son, Reid (Julie) Brown, of Hibernia Cove, N.B.; one daughter, Shirley (Samuel) Mitchell, of Saint John, N.B.; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Toby) Stuart, of Deer Island, N.B., Shelley Brown, of Saint John, N.B., Michael (Dr. Kyna Squarey) Mitchell, of Moncton, N.B., and Katrina (Hans) Sylvester, of Arlington, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Sydney and Sullivan Stuart, Abigail Mitchell and Ava Sylvester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Freeman was predeceased by one brother, Wendell Brown, and by one sister, Marjorie Cline.
A self-employed fisherman all his life, fishing was Freeman’s life passion and hobby. He was a longtime member of the Fundy Weir Fisherman’s Association and a member of the Leonardville Church of Christ.
Rested at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville, Deer Island, N.B., with visitation on Monday.
A graveside service was held at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder’s Head on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 1 p.m.
In Freeman’s memory, donation’s to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Armstrong, Warren Douglas
The death of Warren Douglas Armstrong, of Fredericton, N.B., occurred at the York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton, on May 11, 2007. Born in Elmsville, N.B., he was the son of the late Oscar and Mildred (Maguire) Armstrong.
He is survived by sisters, Mildred Justason, of Pennfield, N.B., and Frances (Jack) Miller, of Elmsville, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Maxwell and Mae Johnston; and brother, Watson Armstrong.
Resting at MacDonald Select Community Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, with Canon Lyman Harding officiating.
Interment will take place in the Lower Elmsville Heritage Cemetery.

Christie, Frederick Lawrence
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on May 13, 2007, Mr. Frederick Lawrence Christie, of Oak Hill, Charlotte County, N.B.; son of the late Harry and Ruth (Sterns) Christie.
Survived by his wife, Frances (Libby) Christie; four sons, Philip (Betty), of Lynnfield, N.B., Gerald (Joanne) and Peter (Joan), of Oak Hill, N.B., and Richard (Joe) Christie (Jeannie), Fredericton, N.B.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister; and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one infant daughter and one brother.
Rested at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dr. Mark Hatfield officiating, assisted by Rev. Peter Atkinson.
Interment at Moores Mills Rural Cemetery.
Visiting was held at the funeral home on Monday, May 14.

Boyd, Robert William
BOYD, Robert William – The death of Robert William Boyd, of St. Stephen, N.B., occurred unexpectedly after a short illness, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Monday, April 23, 2007. Born in Calais, Me., he was the son of the late William Henry and Marjorie (Scullin) Boyd.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Robinson) Boyd; three daughters, Brenda Boyd (Reg Wilson), of Moncton, N.B., Sandra Boyd, of Moncton, N.B., and Linda Boyd, of St. Stephen, N.B.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A retired letter carrier, he and Joan travelled extensively. He also enjoyed many hours at Dooly's playing pool with his friends.
A private graveside service will be held at the St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, with Rev. Dr. Garth Williams officiating.
