Harvie, Marion Evelyn
Marion Evelyn (Weaver) Harvie passed away at her residence in St. George, N.B., on May 1, 2007 at the age of 77. Born in Doaktown, N.B., on Oct. 19, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Perley and Helen (Donald) Weaver. Marion was the wife of the late Murray Dakin Harvie.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley (Wayne) Arbour, Brenda Blinn, and Patty Hooper; a son, Richard (Kathy) Harvie; six grandchildren, Eric, Lindsay, Shannon, Cortney, Dakin and Hillary; one great-grandchild, Ethan; one step- daughter, Caryl, and step-granddaughter, Denyse; brothers, Donnie, Norris, Ivan, Gerald and Lyman; sisters, Olive and Carol; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband, Murray, she was predeceased by her brother, Archie, and sister, Eva.
Marion was a longstanding member of the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, Beaver Harbour, N.B., as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39 Auxiliary. She was a devoted member of the OES Granite Chapter No. 15 of the Eastern Star, as well as a former member of the Rebekkah Lodge of Aurora, Ont.
Marion touched the lives of anyone she met; she was giving, unselfish and caring. She will always be remembered with love and fond memories by many, many friends.
Rested at the Beaver Harbour Baptist Church, from where the service was held on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the Beaver Harbour Community Cemetery.
Visiting was held at the church on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. The Granite Chapter No. 15, OES, conducted a tribute service at the church on Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by an Auxiliary Service from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39.
Following the interment, all were invited to the church for a time of fellowship.
In Marion’s memory, donations to the NB Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Small, Richard Thetus
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on May 7, 2007, Richard Thetus Small, husband of the late Thelma May (Moses) Small, of Blacks Harbour, N.B. Born in Grand Manan, N.B., on April 3, 1913, he was a son of the late Frank and Lola (Urquhart) Small.
A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by one son, Roger (Joan) Small, of Quispamsis, N.B.; one daughter, Morna (Wayne) Linton, of Winnipeg, Man.; four grandchildren, Kevin Small, of Blacks Harbour, N.B., Kelly (Bill) Conley, of St. Stephen, N.B., Paul (Michelle) Linton and Michael (Heather) Linton, all of Winnipeg, Man.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Herbert, and two sisters, Francis Mason and Lona Anderson.
Prior to his retirement, Richard had been employed by Connor’s Bros. for all of his working career as a stock room manager and purchasing agent.
Richard was Baptist by faith, having attended the Second Falls, St. George and the Calvary Baptist Church, in Blacks Harbour. He enjoyed singing and he was a member of the various church choirs of the churches he attended. He was an avid reader and poet, and was proud of the book of poetry which he published.
By Richard’s request, there will be no visiting. There will be a graveside service at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating.
In Richard’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Maker, Hazel Elizabeth
Hazel Elizabeth Maker, 84, of North Head, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Monday morning July 2, 2007. Born at North Head, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lula (Bancroft) Rahnell.
Mrs. Maker worked as a clerk at the Harry Stanley General Store and later as a cook at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for several years. She was a devoted mother and homemaker to her family and also was a member of the North Head Wesleyan Church.
Mrs. Maker is survived by one son, Rodger (Elaine) Maker, Deep Cove, Grand Manan, N.B.; one daughter, Laurene (Terry) Nason, Miramichi, N.B.; one brother, Douglas Rahnell, of Edmonton, Alta.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Maker was predeceased by her husband, James Leigh (Reddy) Maker in 2002; one sister, Gladys Bradbury; and one granddaughter, Marcy-Anne Nason.
The family received friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3. The funeral service was held from the North Head Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Charles Bain officiating.
Interment followed at the North Head Community Cemetery.
The family has requested donations may be made to the North Head Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund or to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dimock, Judith Ellen
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, Judith Ellen (McLean) Dimock (June 2, 1938 - July 5, 2007). She was born to Sen. Donald A. McLean and Catherine (nee Walsh) in Saint John, N.B. She was the middle child of three, and leaves her older brother, Donald McLean, Delta, B.C.; and a younger sister, Faith (McLean) Keith, Lake Utopia, N.B.
She lived her earlier life in Blacks Harbour, N.B. She later became an R.N. and married Dr. Gordon K. Dimock in 1960.
Judy and Gordon had four children: Donald (Beverly Waugh), Cathy (David Prette), Karl (Tammi Martin), and Andrew (Patrick Sweeney).
She is also survived by ten beautiful grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Connor, Jessica, Miles, Cole, Jacob, Emery, Samuel, and Hailey.
A private family service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2007.

Swain, Pauline Elizabeth
Pauline Elizabeth Maxwell Swain went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2007, in Calais, Me., at the age of 86. She was here visiting her nephew, Councilman James Maxwell, his wife, Lorna, and children, June and Jim, of St. Stephen, N.B. Pauline was born in Old Ridge, N.B. to Kenneth Maxwell and Allie McLaughlin. Her mother died when she was seven and she was raised in Milltown, N.B., by her aunt, Millie Maxwell.
She met and married George W. Swain, a U.S. Seabee, stationed in Quoddy Village, Me. Seeking employment, after the military, the family moved to Houston, Texas. She worked and retired from Sears Roebuck in 1981.
She is survived by her sons, James Swain and wife, Norma, and John Swain and wife, Laura Lee; grandchildren, Elizabeth Swain Jordan, Melissa Swain Hoyt and husband, Josh Hoyt, Mark Lee Swain and wife, Melinda, Stephanie Swain Cupit, and Matthew John Swain; and great-grandchildren, Garret Ashton Swain, Taylor Cupit, Lauren Nicole Hoyt and Madison Lee Swain, all of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (1999), her two brothers, Durrell and Granville, and her sister, Minerva.
Pauline will be interred with her husband in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

DeWolfe, Mary Pauline
Peacefully, at the age of 93, on July 1, in Fredericton, N.B. Born in St. Stephen, N.B., she attended New Brunswick Normal School at the age of 15 and later Mount Allison. Married to the late Charles DeWolfe for 50 years, she began her teaching career at the early age of 16 and will be remembered by the many students she taught over the years in St. Stephen, Barker’s Point, Lower Lincoln and Oromocto.
She was a life-long learner and continued to take courses at the University of New Brunswick well into her retirement. She was a member of the I.O.D.E. and the Guild of Christ Church Cathedral. She volunteered with the York-Sunbury Historical Society for a number of years and was an avid bridge player and gardener.
She is survived by daughters, Polly, Mary (Keith Rae), and Madeleine (Ken MacLeod); sons, Malcolm (Julia Latham), Frank and John, as well as 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, Thursday, July 5 at 2 p.m., with The Very Rev. Keith Joyce officiating, followed by a reception in the adjoining room.
A committal service to be held at graveside in the Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, on July 6 at 2 p.m.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society, Fredericton Literacy Council or Laubach Literacy Fredericton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam’s Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton.
Doyle, Randall Joseph
After a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., our beloved Randall Joseph Doyle passed away on June 27, 2007.
He is survived by his father and mother, Tim and Bobbie Joe Doyle and brother, Caleb; uncles, Doug (Pam) Haley, and Larry (Kelly) Haley; cousins, Justin, Kyle, Ryan, Christopher, Siera and Elizabeth, all from St. Stephen, N.B.; grandfathers, Cyril Doyle, of Pomeroy Ridge, N.B., and Robert Hill, of St. Stephen, N.B.; great-grandfather, Jacques Doyle, of Pleasant Street; great-grandmother, Ruth Grant, of St. Stephen, N.B., uncle, Joey (Angela) and Bradley Doyle and grandmother, Anna, of Nova Scotia; aunt, Dawn Hill and Adrian Blake, of Lisbon Falls, Me., and other relatives.
Predeceased by grandmother, Madeline Haley, and uncle, Brian Haley.
Visitations were on Friday, June 29 at S.O. Mehan & Sons.
Services were held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Milltown by Father Riley. Interment was held at the St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery on June 30, 2007.
Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated.
Denley, Geraldine Lillian
At her residence, Lynnfield, N.B., on July 10, 2007, Geraldine Lillian Denley, of Lynnfield Road, Lynnfield, N.B.; daughter of the late Everett J. and Margaret A. (Hannah) Libby.
Survived by her companion, Ross M. Emmerson; one daughter, Gail Hannah; one granddaughter, Nicole Hannah; great-granddaughter, Taylor; two sisters, Anne Casey (Raymond), Oak Hill, N.B., and Lillian Gullison (Winslow), St. Stephen, N.B.; and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Hazen Wayne Denley (1978), and nephew, Robert Gullison.
Funeral Service was held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 11 a.m.
Interment at Moores Mills Rural Cemetery.

Watt, John Campbell
John Campbell Watt, of Oak Haven, N.B., died peacefully at home on July 10, 2007. Born in Saint John, N.B., on June 17, 1941, he was a son of the late Clyde T. and Margaret B. Watt of Rothesay, N.B.
Survived by loving wife of 42 years, Carole N. Watt (nee McIntyre) and sons, Timothy J., of British Columbia, and Glen Ross (Gerri-Lynn), of Peterborough, Ont.; only brother, Robert D. Watt, of Calgary, Alta.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was a graduate of Rothesay Collegiate School. He was involved with banking and sales. He was owner of St. Croix Ventures Ltd.
For many years, John was involved with the Scouting movement in Silverwood, N.B. He treasured his many visits, bonding with his close friends at their camps on the Magaguadavic River.
John will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.
By request there will be no visitation.
Following cremation, a funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 2 p.m., at Christ Anglican Church, Prince William Street, St. Stephen, N.B.
Committal service to follow at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Volunteer Center, Emergency Food Bank or any other charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
