Harper, Aubrey John Leroy
At his home in Islandview, N.B., on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008, Aubrey John Leroy Harper passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70. Born in Upper Mills, N.B., he was a son of the late Aubrey and Mildred (Watters) Harper.
Aubrey was most recently employed as foreman of the autobody shop at Fairview Chrysler, and had worked in autobody repair most of his life. He was a member of the Fredericton Canoe Club and attended Serenity Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Kenneth Harper (Holly), of St. Stephen, N.B., Carla Harper Appleby, of St. Stephen, N.B., Audrey Harper (Ryan Everett), of Islandview, N.B., Mark Harper (Krista), of Fredericton, N.B., Walter Norwood, of Fort McMurray, Alta., Krista Morrison (Shane), of Fredericton, N.B., and Elissa Norwood, of Fredericton, N.B.; six grandchildren, Shawn Appleby, William Harper, Douglas Harper, Tina Appleby, Walter Norwood, Jr., and Cassandra Morrison; a great-grandson, Zackary Appleby; sister, Mary Pulk (Herbie), of Pembrook, Me.; brother, Jimmy Harper (Janet), of Upper Mills, N.B.; sister, Carol McCray (Franklin), of Upper Mills, N.B.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Stella Harper; two sisters, Theresa and Katherine Richards; and son-in-law, Allan Appleby.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, N.B., with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the Serenity Free Will Baptist Church, 260 Serenity Lane, Fredericton, N.B., on Thursday Jan. 17, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jeff Crabtree officiating.
Interment, at the Dunphy Cemetery, will take place at a later date.
Memorials made to the Extra- Mural Hospital, Serenity Free Will Baptist Church or Upper Mills Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Ross, Malcolm Andrew
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Jan. 10, 2008, Mr. Malcolm Andrew Ross, husband of Mrs. Reta Clara (Harris) Ross, of Upper L’Etang, N.B.; born in Toronto, Ont., on Nov. 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Clarissa (Burgie) Ross.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Malcolm is survived by his wife, Reta; two daughters, Clara Wilcox (Bill), of Upper L’Etang, N.B., and Angela (Wade) Harris, of Canal, N.B.; one son, Brian (Gael) Ross, of Hamilton, Ont.; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Maryann Cameron, Bev Smith (James), and Brenda (Tony) Buragina, all of London, Ont.; one daughter-in-law, Paula Ross, of Owen Sound, Ont.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by one son, Greg, and by two brothers-in-law, James Smith and William Cameron.
Malcolm served with the Royal Canadian Army and was stationed at both Utopia, N.B., and Gagetown, N.B. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He also enjoyed a good game of darts. Malcolm was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 39 in Blacks Harbour, N.B.
Although no service will be held, the family will receive friends at the St. George Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 7-9 p.m., at which time a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will be held at 7 p.m.
In Malcolm’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Campbell, Kathleen (Kay) Edna
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Jan. 11, 2008, Miss Kathleen Edna Campbell passed away following a period of failing health. Born in Pocologan, N.B., on July 24, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Dixon) Campbell.
A loving sister and aunt, she is survived by one sister, Marion Boyd, of Pennfield, N.B., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Burpee, Edward and Walter; and nine sisters, Minnie, Edna, Ethel, Mildred, Annie, Eva, Mabel, Hazel and Stella.
Kay was a lifelong resident of Pocologan and worked for various employers including Shaw & Ellis Clam Factory and Connor’s Bros. She will be best remembered as being a fabulous cook.
Rested at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., from where the service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Grant Alcorn officiating.
Interment will be held at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting was held at the funeral home on Sunday and Monday.

Young, Maxine Louise
It is with great sadness that the Young family announces the sudden and unexpected death of Maxine Louise Young of Deer Island, N.B., which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Jan. 11, 2008. Born at Lubec, Me., on Dec. 20, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Ferne (Lord) Richardson; wife of Raymond Stanford Young, of Hibernia Cove, Deer Island.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Maxine is survived by her husband, Raymond; three daughters, Faye (Harold) Doughty, of Leonardville, N.B., Teresa (Cecil) Richardson, of Fairhaven, N.B., and Joan (Mark) Thompson, of Fredericton, N.B.; four sons, Allison (Heather) Young, of Lambert’s Cove, N.B., Mark Young (Sue Beaman), of Hibernia Cove, N.B., Brian (Karen) Young, of Lord’s Cove, N.B., and Ralph Young (Lisa Miner), of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; 16 grandchildren: Jason, Melanie (Reid), Hillarie (Charlie), Jim, Tristen, Maria (Kevin), Devon (Jessica), Brittany (Jeremy), Dustin (Manda), Sarah, Sabrina, Tabatha, Sheena, Ryan (Sarah), Ashton (Adam) and Spencer; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Jaiden and Lincoln; two sisters, Catherine (Don) Stuart, of Richardson, N.B., and Eleanor Thurber, of Fredericton, N.B.; one brother, Dale (Lacy) Richardson, of St. Stephen, N.B.; mother-in-law, Mildred Young; brother-in-law, Gary Young (Susan Lambert); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Norinne Miner, one brother, Dean Richardson, and two great-grandchildren, Bodhi and Payton.
Maxine loved gardening, feeding the birds, playing the piano and listening to her favourite Christian radio programs, Bible. She enjoyed taking morning walks and was dedicated to lovingly caring for her family. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Lord’s Cove. She will always be remembered by family and those who knew her, as a generous and giving person who always took time to be there for others.
Rested at the Leonardville Church of Christ, from where the service was held on Monday, Jan. 14, 2008 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Joel Bridges and Rev. Conrad Cline officiating.
Interment followed at the Leonardville Community Cemetery.
Visiting was held at the church on Sunday.

Higgins, Richard David
At his residence, on Dec. 12, 2007, Richard David Higgins of St. Stephen, N.B.; son of the late James B. and Marion B. (Richardson) Higgins.
Survived by one son, Peter Higgins; granddaughter, Jenna Higgins; three brothers, Steve (Carol), St. Stephen, N.B., Walter (Edna), St. Stephen, N.B., and Joe (Evangeline), Pennfield, N.B.; one sister, Aldena Morrissy, Calais, Me.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Christ Anglican Church, Prince William Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Interment at Moores Mills Rural Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd, , 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Friday, Dec.14, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Camick, Kathryn Imogene
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Jan. 20, 2008, following a period of failing health, Mrs. Kathryn Imogene (Rogerson) Camick, wife of Mr. Howard Elwood Camick, of Leonardville, N.B. Born in Leonardville, N.B., on July 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John and Winnifred (Lambert) Rogerson.
A loving wife to Howard; devoted mother to Danny Camick and Carl (Anne) Camick, both of Leonardville, N.B., and Glenda (Garnett) Green, of Fairhaven, N.B.; proud grandmother of Brendan (Colleen) Green, of Leonardville, N.B., and Katrina (Tim) Martin, of Richardson, N.B.; great-grandchildren, Jared and Ashley Green, and Hayden Martin; three sisters-in- law, Hazel Justason and Sadie Arbeau, both of Richardson, N.B., and Lovejoy Camick, of Leonardville, N.B., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two brothers, James and David Rogerson; one sister, Charlotte Brown; and one nephew, James Brown.
Kathryn loved and devoted her life to her family. She loved cooking and adored children. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, from where the service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Geoff Conley officiating.
Interment will be at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder’s Head, N.B.
Visiting at the church on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m.

At his residence, Old Bay Road, Dufferin, Charlotte County, N.B., on Dec. 15, 2007, J. Austin Firlotte; son of the late Andrew J. and Myrtle Margaret (Kennedy) Firlotte.
Survived by his wife, Marie (Cook) Firlotte; two sons, Ronnie (Joanne) and Darren (Kelly), of St. Stephen, N.B.; three grandchildren, Olivia, Anna and Dominique; one brother and five sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Fountain, Harriet Lord
Unexpectedly, at her residence in Lord’s Cove, Deer Island, N.B., on Jan. 15, 2008, Mrs. Harriet Lord (Adams) Fountain, wife of the late Randolf Fountain. Born in Lord’s Cove, N.B., on Dec. 3, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie (Lord) Fountain.
A loving aunt, great-aunt and friend, she is survived by one nephew, Dale (Vera) Waycott, of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; two great-nieces, Patty (Sheldon) Conley and Kelly (Brian) Barteau, both of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; one great-nephew, Jeffrey (Loretta) Waycott, of Saint John, N.B., three great-great- nephews, Jesse Barteau, Tyler and Ian Conley; two great-nieces, Brooke and Courtney Waycott; and one great-great-great niece, Abigail Waycott.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Allison Fountain, and one sister, Mary Waycott.
Harriet was a school teacher for many years on Deer Island and also served as Postmistress in Lord’s Cove. She was an avid gardener who loved birds. She was a member of the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ, where she was also an organist for many years.
Rested at the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ, from where the service was held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Murray Spencer officiating.
Interment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting at the church took place on Friday evening.
