Holcomb, Elizabeth (Merchant)
At the Old Ridge Seniors Complex, Old Ridge, N.B., on Saturday, March 8, 2008, Elizabeth (Merchant) Holcomb.
Elizabeth is survived by one brother, Elden Merchant (Sylvia), of Bocabec, N.B.; three sisters, Della Upham (Myron) and Gertrude Stoddard (Lewis), both of Old Ridge, N.B., and Victoria VanDriest (Hendricus), of Fredericton, N.B.; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Raymond.
Rested at Humphreys’ Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where the service was held in the chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 1 p.m.
A reception followed in the Humphreys Community Room and Reception Centre.

Quartermain, Beverly Baxter
Beverly Baxter Quartermain (Nov. 10, 1935 - March 10, 2008), of Woodstock, N.B., and formerly of St. Stephen, N.B., passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Monday, March 10, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Walter and Marietta Quartermain.
He was surrounded by the love of his life, his wife, Sandra; and his loving children: daughters, Christina (David), Wendy, and Karen (Devin); and his only son, Bill (Dianne).
He has left behind his very proud legacy of grandchildren: Sarah, Nick, Emily, Dylan, Tyler and Jordan.
He is survived by his sister, Ann Allaby (Lloyd); several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Mansel, Allan, and John.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2 p.m., from The Culberson Memorial Chapel, Woodstock, N.B., with the Ven. Walter Williams officiating.
Reception to follow at the funeral home.
Interment to take place at a later date at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.

At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on March 14, 2008, Jacob Charles Giddens, son of Jason and Misty (Voutt) Giddens, of Heathland, N.B.
Survived by his parents; brother, Jared, and sister, Chasidie, at home; maternal grandparents, Royce and Lorraine Voutt, of Heathland, N.B.; paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Giddens, of St. Stephen, N.B.; great-grandparents, Marie Giddens, of St. Stephen, N.B., and Charles and Eunice Neathway, of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; Dave and Frances Voutt, of DeWolfe Corner, N.B., and Glen and Viola Kinney, of St. Stephen, N.B.; two aunts, one uncle, several cousins.
Rested at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service was held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Bill Weiss officiating.
Interment at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Rollingdam, N.B.

Newman, Rosamond May
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 13, 2008, Rosamond May (McCray) Newman, of Upper Mills, N.B.; born April 30, 1915, at Lynnfield, N.B., daughter of the late Oswald and Edna May (Thurston) McCray.
Rosie is survived by one son, Arnold McCray (Theresa), of Augusta, Me.; one daughter, Dorothy Lyons, of Lubec, Me.; stepdaughter, Joyce Powell (Mike), of Massachusetts; one stepson, Dale Newman; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jean Daigle, of Milltown, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Lillian McCray, Donna McCray and Marion McCray; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Percy William Newman, who passed away in 2003.
She was also predeceased by one stepdaughter, Marion Fusaro, of Connecticut; brothers, Eddie, Theodore, Joseph, Junior and Isaac; and sisters, Lena, Elva, Rachel and Mabel.
Rested at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service was held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 4 p.m., with Rev. Ali Smith officiating.
Interment at Upper Mills Cemetery, Upper Mills, N.B.
Visiting hours were held at the funeral home on Sunday.

Howland, Judy Anne
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Friday, March 14, 2008, Judy Anne (Cornish) Howland, of Oak Bay Haven Nursing Home, Oak Bay, N.B. Born in Calais, Me., she is the daughter of Joyce Hammond, of Ontario, and the late Gerald Cornish.
Judy was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church and also served in the CWL of the church. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sons: Wilfred Brunelle (Lisa), of Lawrence Station, N.B., and Joey Sears, of Lily Hill, N.B., and daughter, Barbara Osborne (Stan), of Oak Bay, N.B.; seven grandchildren, Coady and Dale, J.R. (Joseph), Michael, William, Annie and Kyle; brother, Gerald Cornish (Paula), of Upper Mills, N.B.; two sisters, Linda, of Ontario, and Joanne McRay, of Carmel, Me.; two half-sisters, Elsie Cornish, of Upper Mills, N.B., and Karen Cornish, of Inuvik, N.T.; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her sister, Susan Rideout.
By Judy’s request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A graveside interment will take place later in the spring at the Milltown Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crohns, Ileitis and Colitis Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Begley, Barbara L.
Mrs. Barbara L. Begley, of Reading, Mass., passed away at the Winchester Hospital, Winchester, Mass.; she was 86. Born in Watertown, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Loring and Marion (Hopkins) Matthews.
Barbara was an accountant for Sylvania Electric most of her working life. Later, she enjoyed the summer months with her family at her summer home on White Head Island, where her door was always open and a warm smile welcomed anyone.
She is survived by one brother, Raymond (Colby) Matthews, of White Head Island, N.B.; one niece, Kimberly Wiggins; one nephew, Raymond Matthews, Jr. (Martha), of Newburyport, Mass.; her daughter’s friend and companion, Daniel Pittore; several great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; daughter, Jane; one sister, Eleanor; one brother, Parker; and one niece, Susanna.
Visiting hours were held at the White Head Baptist Church on Monday.
The funeral service was held from the Church on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating.
Interment followed at the White Head Cemetery.

Earle, Wendy Darlene
Unexpectedly, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on March 16, 2008, Wendy Darlene (Parker) Earle, wife of Ricky Lambert Earle, of Lord’s Cove, N.B. Born in Saint John, N.B., on June 16, 1960, she was the daughter of Mrs. Elna (Doughty) Parker and the late Austin Parker.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, she is survived by her husband, Ricky; one son, Jamie (Alicea) Earle, of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; one daughter, Tracy (Corey) Stuart, of Lambertville, N.B.; one granddaughter, Dakota Stuart; her mother, Elna Parker, of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; two uncles, Everett and Glen Doughty; one aunt, Carolyn Townsend; and several cousins.
Wendy was predeceased by her father, Austin Parker; one son, Jason Owen Earle; and one sister, Gwendolyn Parker.
Wendy formerly worked at the Deer Island Credit Union for 19 years, and recently received her Realtor’s License and was employed by Royal LePage in Saint John. She was an avid motorcyclist who loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Dakota. Wendy was a former volunteer for the Deer Island Ambulance.
Resting at the Lord’s Cove Church of Christ, from where the service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Glen Cox and Rev. Murray Spencer officiating.
Interment will take place at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Deer Island, following the service.
Visiting at the church on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Narrowmore, Margaret Eleanor
The passing of Margaret Eleanor (Robinson) Narrowmore, of Bedell, N.B., formerly of McAdam, occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, N.B., on Sunday, March 16, 2008. Margaret was born Jan. 8, 1917, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Susan (Lindsay) Robinson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her son, Darrel (Doris), of Bedell, N.B.; and daughter, Irene (Wilfred) Holmes, of Fredericton, N.B.; four grandchildren, Andy (Kelly) Narrowmore, Susan (Andrew) Laskey, Shari Holmes and Steven (Jill) Holmes; eight great-grandchildren, Mandy and Beth Narrowmore, Craig, Matt and Ashleigh Laskey, and Matthew, Daniel and Nathan Holmes; sister-in-law, Mary Robinson; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rodney Narrowmore (1976); brothers, Horace, Charles, Lawrence, Cecil, and Hal; and sisters, Ada and Vivian.
Resting at the Rockland Drive United Baptist Church, McAdam, N.B. Visiting hours will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 12 noon to 2 p.m., with the funeral service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Scott Kohler officiating.
Interment at Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, N.B., will be held at a later date.
