McCulloch, Richard John
It is with great sadness that the family of Richard John McCulloch announces his unexpected passing on March 22, 2008 at his home in St. Stephen, N.B. He was the son of the late George and Mildred McCulloch.
Richard leaves to mourn, Lorette Bernard, mother of the children, Clinton (Heather), Candace (Danny) Ross both of St. Stephen and Carrie Craig of Manitoba. Also to mourn this tragic loss is Mary Anne Chambers, mother of Arthur-AJ and Richard-RJ of Manitoba.
He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Natasia, Kaileb, Gage, Trenton, Swade, Shyla, and Gracie; two brothers Robert of Alberta, Jim (Terry) of Manitoba and two sisters Georgina (Ron) Lesage of Manitoba and Joanne of Manitoba; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation held by request.
A memorial service will be held in Holland, Manitoba on March 29, 2008. Interment at Holland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Craig, Marguerite
At St. Joseph’s Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Feb. 19, 2008, Mrs. Marguerite (Kinney) Craig, of Bonny River, N.B.; born in Second Falls, N.B., on July 9, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Aldon and Nellie (Frost) Kinney.
A loving sister and aunt, she is survived by two sisters, Lila Chambers, of Bonny River, N.B., and Hazel Walsh, of Holden, Me.; one sister-in- law, Geraldine Kinney, of Second Falls, N.B.; one brother-in-law, Milton MacVicar, of Bonny River, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Blanche MacVicar and Minnie Brown; and two brothers, Harland and Addie Kinney.
Marguerite worked for Stedman’s in St. George for 13 years, as well as at the local drug store, and taught school. In early years, she was an avid quilter and up to recently, enjoyed meeting friends and entertaining company. She was a member of the Second Falls Baptist Church.
Rested at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., where visiting was held on Thursday.
The service was held at the Second Falls Baptist Church on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at 2 p.m., with interment at the church cemetery in the spring.
In Marguerite’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Mitchell, Ronald Sidney
With great sadness, we announce the death of Ronald Sidney Mitchell at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 30, 2008, at the age of 87. Born in Charlotte County, N.B., on March 10, 1921, he was a son of the late Alfred and Agnes (Lord) Mitchell; husband of Dora (Kaglar) Mitchell.
A veteran of World War II, he served overseas with the New Brunswick North Shore Regiment landing in Europe on D-Day on Juno Beach. After the war, he was a farmer, woodsman and, in the later years, employed at Bartlett’s Saw Mill.
He is survived by his wife, Dora; sons, Sidney, Valley Road, N.B., George (Fern), Moncton, N.B., and Lewis (Lori), Tower Hill, N.B.; stepdaughters, Eleanor Moreau (Ron), St. Jerome, Que., and Joyce Coulton (Albert), St. George, N.B.; grandchildren: Darren (Leslie) Mitchell, Valley Road, N.B., Shannon (Gene) Guitar, Oak Bay, N.B., Ryan Mitchell, Alberta, Allison Mitchell, and Carrie Dollard (Alvin), Moncton, N.B.; great-grandchildren, Alexis Guitar, Lauren Mitchell, and Jorja Dollard; brothers, Lloyd (Velma), Old Ridge, N.B., and Morton (Audrey), St. Andrews, N.B.; sister, Ester Hyatt, Cambridge, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Ruth Mitchell, Ottawa, Ont., and Marguerite Giddens, Tower Hill, N.B.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronald was predeceased by a son, Gerald; brothers, Kenneth and Lester; daughter-in-law, Linda (Moffatt) Mitchell; and Darlene (Allen) Mitchell.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Canon John Matheson officiating.
Interment at Oak Bay Rural Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Turner, Ralph Leroy
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, Ralph Leroy Turner, husband of Marie (Justason) Turner, of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; born in Caithness, N.B., on Nov. 13, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Carrie (Holland) Turner.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his wife, Marie; one son, Steven (Colleen) Turner, of Saint John, N.B.; one daughter, Alda Turner (Gaetan Palk), of Pennfield, N.B.; one granddaughter, Misty Gray, of Edmonton, Alta.; two great-grandsons, Ethan and Hunter; one sister, Hazel (Hazen) Johnson, of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Turner and Ethel Leland; and four brothers, John, Raymond, Maurice and Walter.
Ralph was a truck driver by trade, having worked for various employers including Connors Bros. and Arnold Hatt Construction, as well as being employed by Coastal Transport as a wharf agent.
In recent years, Ralph enjoyed socializing with friends and helping others. Following his retirement, Ralph took up barbering as a hobby having a few selected clients, as well as occasionally at the Fundy Nursing Home in Blacks Harbour.
Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour, N.B., from where the service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Interment will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting at the church on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 29, 2008, Joseph Wilmont O’Brien, of St. Stephen, N.B.; son of the late Clarence A. and Cora H. (Farnham) O’Brien.
Survived by one sister, Mavis Fredo, Ontario; two brothers, Clayton O’Brien, St. Stephen, N.B., and Eugene O’Brien, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Embleton, Reta Arlene
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Reta Arlene (Stewart) Embleton, wife of the late Dick Embleton, on March 26, 2008 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. Born on Oct. 16, 1931, in Pleasant Ridge, N.B., Reta was the daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Boles) Stewart.
Reta is survived by two daughters, Lynn Underhill (Jim), Fredericton, N.B., and Wendy Sweeney (John Gallway), St. Stephen, N.B., and one son, Trent Embleton (Susan), St. Stephen, N.B.; special friend, John McCabe, Markham, Ont.; sisters, Bernice Giddens and Marie McPheters (Fred); one brother, Bill Stewart (Rose); and several nieces and nephews.
Nan will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren, Shaun and Kristie Underhill, Jason, Jenny and Jackie Embleton, and Sara and Ashley Sweeney; three great-grandchildren, Ty, Logan and Madisyn.
Reta was predeceased by her sisters, Clara Stewart and Audrey Newell; and three brothers, Donald, Clark and Albert Stewart.
The family received visitors at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Friday, March 28.
The funeral service took place at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 4 p.m., with Rev. Doug McLean officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Harvey Settlement Cemetery, Harvey, N.B.
Remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Palmer, P. Evelyn
Evelyn Palmer passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, N.B.
There will be no funeral service by request.
Remembrances can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Passamaquoddy Lodge.
A graveside service will be announced in the spring.

Survived by one son, Richard (Dick) (Pauline), of St. Stephen, N.B.; one daughter, Eleanor Langway, Calais, Me.; one special nephew, Douglas Dinsmore (Margaret), St. Stephen, N.B.; grandchildren, Mark Caswell, Winterport, Me., Cathy (Steven) Courtois, Lyman, Me., and Brian Dinsmore, St. Stephen, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.
