Watters, Constance Ena
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Constance Ena Watters (Golder) at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, N.B., on March 29, 2008. She was born in North London, England, on Oct. 7, 1918.
She worked as a radio fabricator in an aircraft factory during World War II, before immigrating to Canada in September of 1946. She had lived in St. Stephen, N.B., since coming to Canada and had worked for many years at the Charlotte County Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Doucette (Doug), of Fredericton, N.B.; grandson, Lane Doucette, of Prince George, B.C.; and long-time friends, Bernice, Dot, Elva and Burla, of St. Stephen.
She was predeceased by her son, Roger Vail, and loving husband, Charles Watters.
She was a lifetime member of the St. Stephen Legion and an avid bingo player.
Cremation will be followed by a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Kidney or Heart and Stroke foundations or the Canadian Red Cross Society.
Legere, Harvey Paul
At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 3, 2008, Harvey Paul Legere, of Elmsville, N.B.; son of the late Joseph George and Jane Mary (Woodside) Legere.
Survived by his wife, Georgina (Wilcox); his son, Rev. Paul Legere (Tanya), of Nackawic, N.B.; and daughter, Patricia Hanson (Paul), of Burtts Corner, N.B.; four grandchildren, Nathaniel and Brayden Legere, Sam Belliveau and Sarah Hanson; two sisters, Nora O’Donnell (Frank), of Bloomfield, N.B., and Linda Wickens (Paul), of Hamilton, Ont.; two brothers, Ronald Legere, of Hamilton, Ont., and Wesley Ramsay (Sue), of Hamilton, Ont.; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, and one brother, George Legere.
Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 35 Manor Road, St. George, N.B., from where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Interment at Rollingdam Baptist Cemetery, Rollingdam, N.B.
Visiting hours will be held at the church on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Harriott, Derick Ronald (Bon)
The death of Derick Ronald (Bon) Harriott, husband of Margaret Anne (Lord) Harriott, of 21 Alexandra Crescent, St. Andrews, N.B., occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008. Born in Middlesex, England, Bon was a son of the late Alfred L. and Annie (Brown) Harriott.
Bon came to Canada in 1940. He was an electrician.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret; a son, John K. Harriott, of St. Andrews, N.B.; one daughter, Deborah J. (Dale Clarke), of Grand Prairie, Alta.; four brothers, Lennox Harriott, of Fairvale, N.B., Alfred Harriott, of Dartmouth, N.S., Frank E. Harriott, of Fredericton, N.B., and Hugh Harriott, of Gondola Point, N.B.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one brother, Cyril.
At Bon’s request, there will be no visiting or funeral service.

Pollard, Carol Ann
At her residence, March 31, 2008, Carol Ann Pollard, of Dufferin, N.B.; daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel (Watson) Pollard.
Survived by one daughter, Kelly Anne Moulton (Ron), of Charleston, Me.; one son, Todd (Jennifer), Kitchener, Ont.; grandchildren, Ryleigh Ann and Scott; one brother, Randy, St. Stephen, N.B.; one sister, Bonnie McKnight (Bob), Ledge Road, N.B.; nieces and nephews.
Family will receive relatives and friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
No funeral service will be held by request.
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.

Bird, Anne Hazel
At the Charlotte County Hospital, on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, Mrs. Anne Hazel (Small) Bird, of St. George, N.B., wife of the late Carl G. Bird, of Seeley’s Cove, N.B. Born at North Head, Grand Manan, N.B., on Dec. 23, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Cora (Flagg) Small.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by two daughters, Tova M. Bird, of Saint John, N.B., and Arlene Boroska, of Gardner, N.J.; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Lorraine and John; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Ryan, Lauren and Kaitlyn, all of New Jersey; two sisters, Clytie P. Kierstead, of Blacks Harbour, N.B., and Clarise Ferguson, of White Rock, B.C.; and one brother, Ronald Small, of Gibsons, B.C.
At Anne’s request, there will be no visitation or service held.
Donations in Anne’s memory, made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice, would appreciated by the family.

Mahar, Cheryl Lynn
The death of Lynn Mahar occurred unexpectedly on Feb. 2, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B. Born in Black’s Harbour, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lindell and Mae (Stevens) Mahar.
She had been employed with Red Rose Tea and Regis Inventory Services and was currently employed with Empire Theatres. She volunteered at Forest Hill School, enjoyed playing cards and being with her family. Spending time at ‘the lake’ held a special place in her heart.
Surviving are her sister, Hyla
Scott (Michelle); brothers Wayne (Debbie), Stephen (Twila), and Donald (Lois), all of Saint John, N.B.; her nieces and nephews, Terra, Bonnie, Angie, Teegan, Christopher and Jamie; great-nieces, Becky, Katie ‘Peanut’, and Jocelyn; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her special great-aunt and great-uncle, Merle and Joe Chambers, and aunt, Audrey Thorne.
At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Cremation will take place at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B.
Remembrances made to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
Matthews, Clayton R., Sr.
Clayton R. Matthews, Sr., passed away peacefully, on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B. Born in Lubec, Me., he was the son of the late Harold and Mona (Harvey) Matthews.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mary Irene (Blanchard) Matthews, are his six children: Lisa Beam (Gary), Paul Matthews, Peter Matthews (Beverly), Gail Robertson (James), Clayton R. Matthews, Jr. (Jeannette), and Darlene Matthews (Edward); 12 grandchildren: Jason, Angie, Dylan, Jackie, Sean, Shawna, Amber, Dwayne, Allison, Jordan, Ashley and John; one brother, Harvey (Eloise); several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters.
Clayton served four years in the US Navy, where he trained as a mechanic and was stationed in Corpis Christi, Texas. He moved to Canada and was employed for over 20 years with the Herring Cove Provincial Golf Course in Campobello. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years.
By Clayton’s request, there will be no visitation. However, friends are welcome to attend a graveside service to be held on Wednesday, April, 2, 2008 at 4 p.m., at Head Harbour Cemetery, Campobello, N.B.

Anderson, George Reid
Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, George Reid Anderson went home to be with the Lord, on March 3, 2008. He was born at Andersonville, N.B., in 1934; husband of his loving wife and friend, Carol (Emery) Anderson.
Survived by one son, Tony (Jane) Anderson, of Waweig, N.B.; one daughter, Terry (Dave) MacMillan, of Waweig, N.B.; two chosen daughters, Brenda Fullerton, of Waweig, N.B., and Lynn (Richard) Purcell, of St. Stephen, N.B.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie Hovey, Old Ridge, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his mom and dad; four brothers, Harvey, Samuel, Vance and Louie; and one sister, Inez.
The family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11 a.m.
Interment at Oak Bay Rural Cemetery.

Flagg, Glendon E.
Glendon E. Flagg, 76, of Castalia, Grand Manan Island, N.B., passed away at his residence Sunday March 23, 2008. Born of the late Ainsley and Elva (Parker) Glendon grew up and with his family spending the summer months at Dark Harbour harvesting dulse.
Later in life he worked on the weirs, lobster fishing, and hand lining. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and trapping, along with country and western music, and enjoying western movies.
He is survived by one son, Lance (Allison) Slack, of Kitchener, Ont.; one sister, Mrs. Leola Wormell of North Head, N.B.; one brother, Mr. Roland (Flora) Flagg of Castalia, N.B.; two grandchildren, Ceilidh and Logan; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six sisters: Kathleen, Lillian, Iva, Beatrice, Belva, and Mary; and three brothers: Frederick, Rexford, and Leroy.
Visiting hours were held at Ells Funeral Home on Thursday.
The funeral service was held from the North head Baptist Church on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Ron Ford officiating.
