McFarlane, Mary E.
The death of Mary E. McFarlane of 30 Oak Court, St. Andrews, N.B., wife of Norman J. McFarlane, occurred at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. Mary was born in St. Stephen, N.B., a daughter of the late Wendell and Ruth (Gillespie) Holt.
She had been employed as a lab-supervisor at the Atlantic Reference Centre.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Deana Gowan (Dennis), of Mayfield, N.B.; her sister, Barbara Chandler (Ross), of St. Andrews, N.B.; her brother, William Holt, of Nackawic, N.B.;
five grandchildren: Emily Madill (Ehren), Eric McFarlane, Jill Kozak (Mark), Krista Gowan-Sutherland (Adrian), and William Gowan (Candace); and five great-grandchildren: Joseph Madill, Cady, Eva and Gabrielle Kozak, and Madison Gowan.
She was predeceased by her son, William McFarlane.
Service was held at All Saints Anglican Church, St. Andrews, N.B., on Monday, Nov. 25, 2008.
Interment took place in St. Andrews Rural Cemetery.
Paul, Baby Jakoby Dawson
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 baby Jakoby Dawson Paul, infant son of Jeremy Paul and Teresa Burke; grandson to Louis and Peggy Burke and Rejeanne Paul (Tony Whittaker); great-grandson to Muriel Lomax; nephew of Amy Gibbon (Bobby), Cheryl Travis (Jeff) and Nicole (Phillip) LeBlanc, and cousin to Mallory and Deacon Travis.
He was predeceased by his grandfather, Sterling Paul.
A private family interment will take place in St. George Rural Cemetery, St. George, N.B.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B.
Small, Ardis Muriel
Ardis Muriel Small, 89, of Seal Cove, Grand Manan, N.B., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening, Nov. 23, 2008. Born in Woodward’s Cove, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Percy and Elva (Ingersoll) Richardson, of Woodward’s Cove.
Mrs. Small was a dedicated wife and mother, and was employed at the Grand Manan Nursing Home for over 15 years as a Registered Nurse’s Aid. She was a member of the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly, Grand Manan.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lyndon (Lindy) B. Small, at home; one daughter, Lorraine Small, Fredericton, N.B.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister, Doris (Dot) Thomas; and four brothers, Farrell, Malcolm, Myles and Charles Richardson.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held from the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly, Grand Manan, N.B, on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. George Clark officiating, assisted by Rev. David Williston.
Interment to follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery, Seal Cove, N.B.
Donations to the Immanuel Pentecostal Assembly Memorial Fund, N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Gideon Bible Society, or to a charity of your choice.

At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Nov. 23, 2008, Burton Garnet (Bud) Godsoe, husband of the late Carmen V. (Hinsdale) Godsoe, of St. Stephen, N.B.
Survived by one son, Frank (Shona), of Tower Hill, N.B.; three daughters, Debbie Gullison-Lord (Larry), of Old Ridge, N.B., Iona Densmore (Ralph), of St. Stephen, N.B., and Penny Ann Smith (Dexter), of Saint John, N.B.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Brian Godsoe (Jean), Nova Scotia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by brothers, George, Eursel, Toby and Murray; and sisters, Iona Godsoe and Vivian Babcock.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Frost, Daniel Joseph
At his residence, surrounded by his family on Nov. 25, 2008, Daniel Joseph Frost, husband of Mrs. Nancy (Dewar) Frost of St. George, N.B. Born at St. Stephen, N.B., on May 13, 1951, he was a son of Fletcher Frost and the late Mary (Casey) Frost.
A loving husband, dad, papa, brother and son, in addition to his wife Nancy, Dan is survived by two daughters: Elena Dewar (Kevin Wright), of Seeley’s Cove, N.B., and Sarah Dewar (Jason Norman), of St. George, N.B.; papa to Sage Isabelle, Milo Daniel and Zaida Rose; his father, Fletcher Frost (Kay Gaddis), of Calais, Me.; one brother, Jim Frost (Jorge Morales), of Virginia; four sisters: Margaret (Leslie) Shaw, of Brewer, Me., Maryanne (Jan) Starbird, of Bangor, Me., Suzanne Taber (Mark L’Heureux), of New Hampshire, and Sherri (Kevin) Cox, of Ellsworth, Me.; sister-in-law, Genie Frost, of Brewer, Me.; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan was predeceased by his mother, Mary; and by one brother, Ret. Chief Master Sergeant Richard Eugene Frost.
Throughout his life, Dan was always a people person who loved to cook and entertain. An avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, nature and stargazing. Dan was a well-known volunteer who was active in all of his kids and grandkids school functions. He could often be found "finding his grandchildren’s honey." He was a dear friend to all who knew him.
Family received friends at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., on Saturday evening, from where a celebration of Dan’s life was held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Urquhart, Lloyd Frederick
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, Lloyd Fredrick Urquhart, of Utopia, N.B. Born at Blacks Harbour, N.B., on May 25, 1938, he was a son of the late Gordon and Anastasia (Spray) Urquhart.
A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his children: Burton Urquhart, of Utopia, N.B., Ronald Urquhart (Lisa Hooper), of Bocabec, N.B., and Karen (Davis) Leeman, of Saint John, N.B.; two grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew; one sister, Fern Guitard, of St. Stephen, N.B., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Joy Stein.
Lloyd had served with the Canadian Air Force for a number of years and held various jobs throughout the local area. As a pastime, he enjoyed fixing electronics.
By Lloyd’s request, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel, at the St. George Funeral Home, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Hoyt officiating, followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.
In Lloyd’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

At the Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, N.B., on Nov. 29, 2008, Martha June Hansen, widow of Hugo Hansen and daughter of the late Frederick and Edna (Sopiel) Hartford.
Survived by one son, Fred Maguire; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, several nieces and nephews.

Survived by his wife; one daughter, Judy (Dennis) Fahey; two sons, Douglas (Wanda) Higgins and Danny (Annette) Higgins; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Von) Higgins, and Steve (Carol) Higgins; one sister, Aldena Morrisy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by brothers, Leslie, Bernard, Donald and Richard Higgins, and one grandson, Jeffrey Higgins.
