Matheson, Marion
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, N.B., on Nov. 26, 2008, Mrs. Marion (Tucker) Matheson, wife of the late Henry J. Matheson, of St. George, N.B. Born at L’Etete, N.B., on May 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Minnie (Dow) Tucker.
A loving mother and grandmother, Marion is survived by two sons: Vance Matheson, of St. George, N.B., and David (Judy) Matheson, of Caithness, N.B.; eight grandchildren: Cindy (Bob) Kaller, of Quispamsis, N.B., Trudy (John) Borthwick, of Second Falls, N.B., Scott Matheson (Deanna), of British Columbia, Henry J. (Jennifer) Matheson, of Saint John, N.B., Chad Matheson, of Minto, N.B., Shelly-Ann Matheson and Vance Matheson, both of Edmonton, Alta., and Jeremy (Isabelle) Matheson, of Moncton, N.B.; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Matheson, and by one son, Richard "Ricky" Edward Matheson.
Marion loved to spend time with friends and family. She loved playing Bingo and being in the outdoors. In her quiet time, she enjoyed knitting. Marion was a former member of the Orange Lodge.
By Marion’s request, there was no visitation.
A graveside service was held on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the St. George Rural Cemetery with Rev. David Haddon officiating.
In Marion’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Newman, Patsy Ethel “Gam”
Patsy Ethel “Gam” Newman, wife of C. “Bill” Newman, died unexpectedly at her home in Wilson’s Beach, N.B., on Nov. 25, 2008. She was born Aug. 24, 1931 in Marion, Me., daughter of Clarence and Jeanette (Rice) Townsend.
Besides her husband of 56 years, she is survived by daughters, Wanda, Mary and her husband David, and Bonnie; grandchildren, The Magnificent Seven, Austin, Amber, Jeanette, Lottie, William, Alisha and Molly; also the two newest lights in her life, great-grandsons Alex and Trey; sisters, Patty (Charlie), Connie (Ralph), Alice and Kitty; and brothers, Arthur, Wally (Mary), and Joe (Teri).
Also survived by special brothers-in-law, Norman Young and Herbie Huntington; sister-in-law, Mint Newman; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by her infant son, Bernard Alan; sister and bestest friend, Dorothy; sisters, Ruby, Mary and Blondie; and brothers, Rod and Bill T.
No service at her request.
Adams, Frederick George
At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Dec. 1, 2008, Frederick George Adams, of St. Stephen, N.B., passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was a son of the late Albert George and Dorothy Lillian (Goode) Adams.
Survived by one son, John Adams; one daughter, Jennifer Adams; three brothers, Terry Miller (Nancy), of Perth-Andover, N.B., Clarence Demerchant (Lynn), of St. Stephen, N.B., and Don Davenport (Diane), of Beachwood, N.B.; one sister, Charlotte Grotton (Mike), of Belfast, Me.; two nieces, Erin and Stephanie Demerchant; and three nephews, Mike Demerchant, Jason Davenport and Jesse Miller.
Rested at Gateway Cathedral, 18 West St., St. Stephen, N.B., from where the funeral service was held on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at 2 p.m.
Visiting was held at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Interment at the Moores Mills Cemetery, Moores Mills, N.B.

MacKnight, Harry Marks
At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Dec. 1, 2008, Harry Marks MacKnight, of Old Ridge, N.B.; husband of Kathleen (Kay) Elizabeth (Thompson) MacKnight, and son of the late Harry Marks and Susan Louise (Dauphnee) MacKnight.
Survived by his wife; one son, Paul (Jorris), of Connecticut; one daughter, Marie Olsen, of Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Ann and Cory; two stepdaughters, Ann Haley and Sherry Morrow (Steve); two stepgrandchildren, Kelly Morrow and Douglas Morrow; great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at 11 a.m., at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main St., St. Stephen, N.B.

Faloon, Virginia
Mrs. Virginia (née Moody) Faloon passed away in Ormstown, Que., on Nov. 25, 2008, at the age of 96 years; daughter of the late Burton and Blanche Moody, and loving wife of the late Kenneth Faloon.
Beloved mother of Albert (JoAnn), of St. Stephen, N.B., Gary (Marie),
of Dartmouth, N.S., and Robert (Diane), of New Keno, Mexico; also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her brother, John Moody, of St. Stephen, N.B.; family and friends.
Predeceased by her brother, Charles; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in St. Stephen, N.B., at a later date.

Upham, Maye Stewart
Maye Stewart Upham (Dickson), wife of the late Curtis Upham, and the late Lee Dickson, of Bayside, N.B., passed away at Old Ridge, N.B., on the evening of Dec. 2, 2008, at the age of 93. Born in Center Napan, N.B., on May 26, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Osborne and Catherine (Dickson) Dickson.
She was a homemaker and chose a life of faith.
Maye is survived by her two sons, Lee Dickson (Yvonne), of Grande Prairie, Alta., and Floyd Dickson (Carolyn), of White Rock, B.C.; five grandchildren, Trina, Alanna and Cameron (Melanie), of Grande Prairie, Alta., and Matthew (Becci Bessette) of Hope, B.C., as well as Timothy (Danika), of Langley, B.C., six great-grandchildren, Gavin and Will, of Grande Prairie, Alta., Hannah and Emelia, of Hope, B.C., and Maddox and Hunter, of Langley, B.C. Maye also leaves one sibling, her youngest brother, Harold (Gladys) Dickson, of Port Alberni, B.C., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Maye was predeceased by her first husband, Lee Dickson; and her second husband, Curtis Upham; as well as three sisters, Susan Wilson, Dorothy Dickson and Verne Dickson; and two brothers, Earl and Burton Dickson.
Resting at Humphreys’ Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at 11 a.m.
The interment will take place in the spring at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery.
Reception to follow in the Humphreys’ Community Room and Reception Centre. All are welcome to join us.
The family will receive friends and family at a time of visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.
The family would like to thank all of Mum’s special friends, and Melody and Roy Moffard and their wonderful staff at St. Stephen Seniors Complex, for the love and care they have shown Mum over the years. We thank them for taking such good care of her!

Peter D. Hyslop, 52, of Halifax, N.S., passed away suddenly on Dec. 4, 2008 at home. Born in St. Stephen, N.B., he was a son of Dorothy (Currie) Hyslop and the late Robert Hyslop.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Barb (Migel) Hyslop, Halifax, N.S.; daughter, Gillian (Cory Sauve), Halifax, N.S.; son, Robert Hyslop, at home; brothers, Robert (Marie), Nfld., Ronald, Ottawa, Ont., Jeff (Dale), Calgary, Alta., David, St. Stephen, N.B.; sister, Kristy (Scott) Johnson, Ontario; beloved aunt, Betty Hyslop, St. Stephen, N.B.; mother-in-law, Lillian Migel, Halifax; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Melvina) Migel, Ontario, Paul (Janice) Migel, Halifax, Michael, Halifax, David, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Kathy (George) Anderson, Halifax, Linda (Steve) Ouellet, Halifax, Jackie Tucker, Nfld.; many nieces and nephews.

Mitchell, T. Everette
It is with great sadness, that the family of T. Everette Mitchell announces that he passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, 2008, at his residence at Back Bay, N.B., overlooking the Bay of Fundy, with his loving companion, Nancy Leavitt, by his side. Born at Back Bay, N.B., on Aug. 24, 1938, he was a son of the late Stanley and Charlotte (Maskell) Mitchell.
A loving companion, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by his companion, Nancy Leavitt, of Back Bay, N.B.; two sons, Michael Mitchell (Inge), of Alma, N.B., and Kevin Mitchell (Marilyn), of Blacks Harbour, N.B.; two daughters, Faith Mitchell-Gillespie (Bruce), of Back Bay, N.B., and Heather Mitchell, of St. George, N.B.; two stepdaughters, Kristan (Gerald) Libby, of St. George, N.B., and Kerry Mae (Roger) Libby, of St. Andrews, N.B. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: J.J. Mitchell, of St. George, Raelene and Mitchell Borthwick, of Back Bay, Christopher and Brittany Mitchell, of Waweig, Katrina Mitchell, of Blacks Harbour, Emma and Tyler Leavitt, of St. George, and Reghan and Abi Libby, of St. Andrews, N.B.; two brothers, Harold (Sandra) and Thomas (Janet) Mitchell, both of Back Bay, N.B.; two sisters, Mary (Doug) Conley and Elizabeth (Jim) Frost, both of Ontario; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Charlotte; and two brothers, William and Claude.
Everette was extremely well known and respected the world over as a great friend and as an icon in the seafood industry for decades. He was an avid cribbage player (charging always for "the lesson"). He enjoyed every aspect of life to the fullest and lived every day with great passion. His passing represents the end of a era and he will be deeply missed.
The family received friends at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., on Saturday, Dec. 6.
A celebration of Everette’s life was held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home, on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating.
