Gillis, Doris Leila
Doris Leila Gillis (nee Orr) of St. Stephen, N.B., passed away suddenly at Charlotte County Hospital, on Jan. 27, 2009 at the age of 85. She was the wife of Michael Gillis, of Milltown, N.B.; daughter of the late Andrew and Leila (Mitchell) Orr.
Doris is survived by her husband, Mike; three daughters, Cheryl (Gerrit) Daamen, Hardwood Ridge, N.B., Darlene Aker, St. Stephen, N.B., and Barb (Garry) Carter, Ottawa, Ont.; one son, John (Linda) Gillis, St. Stephen, N.B.; eight grandchildren, Gerry (Melinda) Daamen and Darryl (Aimie) Daamen, of Fredericton, N.B., Gordon Aker, St. Stephen, N.B., Tony Aker, Fredericton, N.B., Cindy Steeves, Ottawa, Ont., and Robyn, Micaela and Brenden Gillis, all of St. Stephen, N.B.; four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by son, Gerry, and an infant daughter, Micaelena; her parents; brothers, Douglas and Arnold Orr; and sisters, Stella Moore and Ethel Crocker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen, N.B., on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at 11 a.m.
Interment at Milltown Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Friday, Jan. 30 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Moore, Barbara Joyce
Peacefully, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., on Dec. 24, 2008, Barbara Joyce (Newell) Moore, wife of Malcolm "Mac" Moore, of Saint John, N.B. Born at Yarmouth, N.S., on Sept. 16, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George and Ruby (Bethune) Newell.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband Mac, she is survived by three sons: Mark (Elizabeth) Doyle, of Fairfield, N.B., Christopher (Patricia), and Michael (Suzanne) Moore, both of Halifax, N.S.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Robert “Bob” (Doris) Newell, of St. George, N.B.; one sister, Ramona Brenton, of Truro, N.S.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Richard; two sons, Danny and Brian; one daughter, Wanda Leann; and one sister, Betty Parks.
Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked as a tax specialist for Ben Tax Services and Sobey’s. She was artistic and enjoyed knitting, music, and playing Bingo, as well as spending time with her grandchildren.
By Barbara’s request, there will be no visitation and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be held at the St. George Catholic Cemetery, St. George, N.B., in the spring.
In Barbara’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Pomeroy, Ronald James
Ronald James Pomeroy died unexpectedly at his home in St. Stephen, N.B., on Dec. 17, 2008. Ron was born July 29, 1967, the son of Murray J. Pomeroy, of Little Ridge, N.B., and E. Patricia Pomeroy, of St. Stephen, N.B.
Ron is survived by his mother and father; sister, Tracy Jane Pomeroy, of Victoria, B.C.; stepbrother, David R. Jacques, of St. Stephen, N.B., several aunts and uncles, many cousins and several good friends.
Ron lived and worked in Toronto, Ont., for I.B.M. for the past 16 years, and continued to work for them remotely after relocating to St. Stephen. Ron enjoyed his work and had many great friends.
By family request, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A private service will be held at a later date.

At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Jan. 27, 2009, R. Douglas Lee, of St. Stephen, N.B.; eldest son of the late Paul and Viola (Bonness) Lee.
Survived by his wife, Glenys “Pat” Lee; son, Bob (Mary Ellen) Lee; daughter, Lorna Lee; grandchildren, Ian Lee (Sarah Morgan Lee), and Erin Lee (Andrew MacLean); great- grandchildren, Maeve Lee, Rowyn MacLean and Blythe Lee; sister, Lois (Don) Henry; sister-in-law, Eileen Lee; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by two brothers, Meryl and Harry Lee.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at 2 p.m.
Reception to follow the service at the Milltown United Church Hall, 452 Milltown Blvd., St. Stephen.
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.

Gillmor, E. Louise
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Jan. 28, 2009, Mrs. E. Louise (Justason) Gillmor, wife of Arthur "Darb" Gillmor, of St. George, N.B., formerly of Bonny River, N.B. Born at Pennfield, N.B., on Nov. 16, 1927, she was one of 13 siblings of Charles and Ethel (Wilcox) Justason.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband, Darb, she is survived by one son, Eddie Gillmor (Janice Schneider), of Calgary, Alta.; one daughter, Cathy (Royden) Stewart, of L’Etang, N.B.; granddaughters, Melissa (Scott) McLeod, of Quispamsis, N.B., and Megan Stewart (Scott Reynolds), of Fredericton, N.B.; grandsons, Ian Gillmor, of Victoria, B.C., and Aaron Gillmor, of Calgary, Alta.; one sister, Clara McLean, of New River, N.B.; one brother, Murray (Eileen) Justason, of Sussex, N.B.; sisters-in-law, Mildred, Joyce and Eileen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Alvin, Maurice, Lewis, Ernest and Clarence; and by five sisters, Irene, Viola, Hazel, Amy and Doris.
Louise completed high school at Blacks Harbour, N.B., and went to work at Rothesay Collegiate School, before marrying Arthur Gillmor, of Bonny River, in 1950. They lovingly raised their family throughout the Fundy region, including Magaguadavic Lake, New River, Pocologan and Bonny River. Louise graduated from St. Andrews Trade School in 1972 and later worked for the Dept. of Natural Resources, before retiring in 1984. She loved bowling, traveling and was an avid Bingo player.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Reg Ward officiating.
Interment will take place at the Second Falls United Baptist Church Cemetery in the spring.
Visiting at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Silk, Leonard Nelson
The death occurred suddenly, with his loving family by his side, at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, P.E.I., on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 of Leonard Nelson Silk, of Summerside, and formerly of St. Stephen, N.B., aged 84 years. Leonard was born on May 2, 1924, in Coles Island, N.B., to his late parents, Walter and Bessie Mae (nee Phillips) Silk.
Beloved husband of Sara “Sally” (nee Nixon) and loving father of Gwendlyn “Dolly” Silk, of Summerside, P.E.I., Dana (Jerome), of Ottawa, Ont., and Dan and David, both of Vancouver, B.C.; also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Sarah (Justin) Rogers, of Summerside, P.E.I., Amanda (Ben) Murphy, of Miscouche, and Dana Scherf-Silk, of Kamloops, B.C.; his three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters: Norma Hay, of Coles Island, N.B., and Betty Stevens, of Codys, N.B.
Besides his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his sister, Primrose Lewis, and brothers, Cardiff and Emery.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life Service will be held in Coles Island, N.B. at a later date.

Survived by son, Gary Smith Nason (Brenda), Harvey, N.B.; daughter, Marilyn Louise MacKeigan (Kenneth), St. Andrews, N.B.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Guy Nason (Harriet), St. Stephen, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.

Earl Keith Wallace passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in his 83rd year; son of the late Anson and Jessie (Craig) Wallace.
Beloved husband of Evelyn (Voutt) Wallace; dear father of Esther and Earl, all of North Gower, Ont.; and Ellen Tucker (Allen), of New Brunswick; loving grampa of Anson and Brandy Wright, Wayne, Dalton and Jessie Tucker. Fondly remembered by extended family of cousins and friends.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Evelyn Ruth Roberts, at Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam, N.B., on Feb. 1, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Finley and Fern Gardiner of McAdam, N.B.
She is survived by her loving husband, Carl Roberts; and her children: Dennis (wife, Margaret), of Brampton, Ont., Bruce (wife, Teresa), of Kentville, N.S., Rebecca, of Saint John, N.B., Jeff (wife, Alma), of McAdam, N.B., Finley (wife, Deanna), of Kingston, Ont., and Aaron (wife, Joanna) of Texas; her nine grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Rockland Drive United Baptist Church in McAdam on Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m.
Funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at 2 p.m.
