Davis, Lynn
On May 4, 2009, Lynn passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife, Judy, and very close friends. He battled cancer with courage and strength, just as he lived his life. He was predeceased by his parents, Madeline and Harold Davis; mother-in-law, Rachel Luciak; and stepdaughter, Tracy Stewart.
Lynn was born in New Brunswick and was extremely proud of being a “Maritimer”. He loved to share stories of hunting and fishing trips on the lakes of N.B. His passion for the outdoors continued when he moved to B.C. in 1965, and he loved to mentor young people who grew to respect the outdoors because of Lynn’s teachings.
His career with Volkswagen began in St. Stephen, N.B., where he worked as a mechanic and partsman. When he moved to B.C., he continued his work as a partsman at four Volkswagen organizations, most recently retiring from Cowell Motors in 2004.
His gift of telling stories will live on in the people whose lives he touched. He was an extraordinary man, who was respected, and was always true to himself.
Donations to the Cancer Society or the SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
Ukrainetz, Greta Mae
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on May 11, 2009, Greta Mae Ukrainetz, of Pennfield, N.B. Born in St. Stephen, N.B., on Feb. 24, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Prescott and Edith Justason.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Greta is survived by one son, Stephen Ukrainetz (Tina Dickerson), of Pennfield, N.B.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ukrainetz, of St. Stephen, N.B., and Paul Ukrainetz, Jr., of Victoria, B.C.; two brothers, Neil (Donna) Justason, of Pennfield, N.B., and Howard Justason (Deanna Morrell), of Quispamsis, N.B.; two sisters, Melva MacLean, of Inverness, N.S., and Marilyn (Dean) Ravithis, of London, Ont.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Greta was independent minded and enjoyed reading. She loved landscaping and tending to the flowers. In her spare time, Greta liked to paint ceramics and to sit and watch the L’Etang River.
In keeping with Greta’s wishes, there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home, St. George, N.B., on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bruce Alcorn officiating, followed by interment at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.
In Greta’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Mitchell, Thomas Eli
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on July 19, 2009, Thomas Eli Mitchell, husband of the late Beulah E. (Cooke) Mitchell, of Back Bay, N.B. Born at Back Bay, N.B., on March 14, 1914, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ella (Leavitt) Mitchell.
A loving father, grandfather, and brother, he is survived by a son, Tony (Kim) Cooke, of L'Etang, N.B.; two grandchildren, Alisha Newbury, of Fort McMurray, Alta., and Katelynn Cooke (Tony Harris), of Edmundston, N.B.; two great-grandchildren, Carter Newbury and Tanner Harris; sister-in-law, Frances Mitchell, of Back Bay, N.B., and brother-in-law, Medford Holland, of St. Stephen, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife, Beulah, he was predeceased by two brothers, Murchie and Samuel; and by two sisters, Avis Holland and Dana Walsh.
Tom spent most of his working life on the water. He enjoyed fishing and in his later years enjoyed helping Tony prepare his lobster heads for the lobster season.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating.
Interment to follow at the St. George Rural Cemetery.
Visiting was held at the funeral home on Monday.

Barrett, Wayne Arthur
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B., after a courageous battle with cancer, on July 28, 2009, Wayne Arthur Barrett, husband of Mrs. Allene (Kingston) Barrett, of L’Etete, N.B. Born at Blacks Harbour, N.B., on Dec. 17, 1969, he was a son of Mrs. June (Randall) Barrett and the late Glenn Barrett.
In addition to his wife Allene, he is survived by one daughter, Brooke, and by one son, Brandon, both at home; one brother, Stephen (Margo) Barrett, and nephew, Ashton, of Mascarene, N.B.; special sister, Erica Borthwick, of Elmsville, N.B.; sister- in-law, Allison Kernighan (Gregg), of Upper L’Etang, N.B.; and mother-in-law, Regina Kernighan, of Upper L’Etang, N.B.
Wayne was predeceased by his father, Glenn; paternal grandparents, Hazen and Margaret Barrett; and maternal grandparents, Kitchener and Velda Randall.
Wayne was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, who enjoyed his family immensely. His family and friends meant the world to him. His favourite pastimes included hunting, fishing and coaching hockey. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, as well as the Silverkings. He was a hard worker and a dedicated employee at Cooke's Aquaculture. He was an Irving coffee club member, who enjoyed chatting amongst his friends and lived by the motto "Git-R-Done". Wayne will be missed by all who knew him.
Resting at the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay, N.B., from where the service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Darren Millett and Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating.
Visiting was held at the church on Wednesday and will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to the Fundy Community Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Charlotte County Cancer Society and to the people of Charlotte County for their generosity.

Denley, Robert Borden Joseph (Duke)
Sept. 24, 1912 – July 25, 2009. Suddenly, at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alta., at the age of 96.
Beloved husband of Sylvia. Cherished father of Randall (Louise Forgues-Savage), Jamine (Robert MacNeil) and Wendy (Isabelle Roy); adored stepfather of Beth (Bob Swift-Hill) and Carolann (Scott Letts). Fondly remembered by his former wife, Cedella. Much loved grandfather of Eric (Desarmia), Katherine, Laura and Thomas Denley, Halley, Rheanna and Marisa Swift-Hill, Daniel and Claire Letts. great-grandfather of Leia Denley.
Born in St. Andrews by-the-Sea, N.B., he was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Flora Denley, brother Floyd and sister Mona.
A gifted athlete, coach, chef, musician, army major, government manager, business owner, committed volunteer, avid bridge player, wonderful gardener, and blessed with a life-long wit, he will be forever missed by his family and all who knew him.

Fahey, James MacKenzie
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., Aug. 3, 2009, James MacKenzie Fahey of Old Ridge, N.B.; husband of Lillian B. (Bartlett) Fahey and son of the late James Edward and Jessie Mae (MacKenzie) Fahey.
Survived by his wife; son, Dennis (Judy), of St. Stephen, N.B.; daughter, Ann (Joe) Reilly, of Eastport, Me.; grandchildren, Stacy, Nicole, Jessica, Greg and Michael; four great-grandchildren; brother, Lloyd MacKenzie, of St. Stephen, N.B., and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at 2 p.m.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Archibald, Helen Patricia
At her Saint John residence, Helen Patricia (Wentworth) Archibald, of St. Andrews, N.B., passed away peacefully in her 89th year on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lester J. Archibald. She was born on Nov. 18, 1919, in St. Andrews and was the only daughter of the late Hartley and Hilda (Hewitt) Wentworth.
Helen studied her undergraduate degree at Mount Allison University. She received her Masters of Bio-chemistry from Dalhousie University in 1941. She met Les at Mount Allison in 1937, and they were married in February, 1942.
During her life, Helen was an active member of the United Church of Canada. She was an Akala in the Cub Scouts of Canada (Imperoyal Village) and was also extremely involved in the University Women’s Club of Canada. She volunteered her services with many organizations, both in St. Andrews and in the other cities where her husband’s career took them.
Helen is survived by daughter, Patricia A. Archibald (John Coyne), of Kamloops, B.C.; son, Robin W. Archibald (Nola), of New Town, N.S.; son, J. David Archibald (Jeanie), of New Glasgow, N.S.; nine grandchildren: Kalysa J. Archibald, Kelci A. Archibald, Devan W. Archibald, Jeffrey R. Archibald, Jason D. Archibald, Paul D. Archibald, Curtis W. Archibald, Bronwyn A. Coyne and Gavin A. Coyne; three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Charlize and Kasey.
The family would like to extend grateful thanks to those who took excellent care of Helen while she was a resident at Chateau de Champlain during the past 18 months, Louise Mitchell, Bessie Collins, Trisha Arsenault, Kelsey Bailey, Donna Young and Betty Cameron.
A memorial service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at 2 p.m., at Wesley United Church, 77 William Street, St. Andrews, N.B.
The interment will follow at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery, after which a reception will be held in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Memorial Fund of Wesley United Church would be appreciated by the family.

Richardson, Joseph George “Graham”
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Aug. 5, 2009, Joseph George "Graham" Richardson, husband of Edith Irma (Seamans) Richardson of Canal, N.B., passed away suddenly following three months of hospitalization. Born at Atholville, N.B., on Oct. 10, 1931, he was a son of the late Frances and Alice (Graham) Richardson.
A loving husband and brother, in addition to his wife, Edith, he is survived by one brother, Allison Richardson, of Campbellton, N.B.; one sister, Betty Ann Brooks, of Labrador City, Nfld., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Carl Richardson.
Graham was a pipe fitter by trade, having worked with many projects in both New Brunswick and Quebec. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 213 for many years. He was fluently bilingual and had served with the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 17 and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. Prior to his pipe fitting trade, he worked as a Chemical Technologist in the pulp and paper industry for several years.
Graham had an interest in history and politics and at one time he ran as the NDP candidate in the local riding. Graham was a committed member of St. Marks Anglican Church in St. George.
In later years, he and his wife, Edith, enjoyed several trips abroad to South Korea with the War Veterans and to England and the Philippines with Christian Missions.
At Graham’s request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will be celebrated from St. Marks Anglican Church, St. George, N.B., on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009 at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery.
In Graham’s memory, donations to the St. Marks Anglican Church Rebuilding Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Acheson, Eileen Thelma
At Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on Aug. 4, 2009, Eileen Thelma Acheson, widow of Olin D. Acheson, of St. Stephen, N.B.; daughter of the late Lloyd and Gertrude (Campbell) Groom.
Survived by three sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one granddaughter, Tammy Acheson.
