Francis A. Sharpe
1926-2008
At the Moncton Hospital on Sunday August 24, 2008, at the age of 82, passed away Francis Alvin Sharpe, residing in Moncton.
Born April 11, 1926 in Deeside, Quebec, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Amanda (LeBlanc) Sharpe.
He was a WWII veteran and retired from TD Canada Trust in Calgary.
He is survived by one sister, Edna Mahony of Campbellton; two brothers: William (Carolyn) of Winnipeg and Howard (Shirley) of Lethbridge; several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers: Donald and Wendell; as well as two sisters, Helen Steeves and Shirley.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday August 28 at St-Andrew's Church in Robinsonville.

Alcide Leger
1930-2008
At his residence, on Wednesday September 3, 2008, at the age of 78, passed away from a long illness Alcide J. Léger, domiciled in Shediac, rue Brown.
Born June 1, 1930 in Haute-Aboujagane, he was the son of the late Joseph and Célia (Bourgeois) Léger.
He is survived by his wife Janice (Cormier) Léger, two daughters: Paulette Mazerolle (Normand) of Cocagne, Stacie Allain (Lionel) of Moncton; three sons: Jean of Moncton, Robert of C-B and Donald of Saint-Jean; a step-daughter Christine Arsenault (Jean-Marc) of Shediac, a step-son Conrad Arsenault of Grand-Barachois; his ex-wife Irène Allain de Saint-Thomas, as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
One sister Célia Poirier, three brothers: Alphée, Arthur and Léandre Léger; five half-brothers: Alyre, Albénie, Éloi, Henri and Joseph (Joe Lacane) Léger; three half-sisters: Edmée Gauthier, Tilla Gosselin and Delphine Bourque; as well as five half-brothers: Mélas, Alderic, Régis, Stanislas, and Camille Boudreau predeceased him.
The family will receive relatives and friends starting at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 4, at Frenette Funeral Home Ltée., 396 Main Street in Shediac (532-3297). The funeral will be held at Saint-Joseph Church in Shediac on Friday September 5, 2008 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visiting hours: Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until departure at 10:20 a.m.
In lieu of the flowers, a donation to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated.
Doris Peters
1922-2008
Doris Peters, 85, of Manoir Pascal Poirier, and formerly of Providence St., Shediac passed away on Sunday, August 24th, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton.
Born October 31st, 1922 in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Léa (Drisdelle) LeBlanc.
She is survived by a daugther Dianne Peters of Shediac, two sons: Danny (Jocelyne) of Trois-Pistoles, QC, and Andrew of Gander, NL; three brothers: Arcade LeBlanc (Simone) and Eugène LeBlanc (Thérèse) both of Shediac, Donald LeBlanc of Moncton; two sisters: Béatrice Savoie (late Raymond) of Shediac, Marguerite LaPlante (late Gerry) of Sebring, FL; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband John Peters (1971), her second husband Thomas Peters (1979), five brothers: Emery, Léandre, Camille, Ernest and Raymond LeBlanc.
Visitation at Maison funéraire Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Thursday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008 at St-Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Shediac.

John Edward 'Ned' Melanson
1927-2008
John Edward 'Ned' Melanson, 81, of Murphy Avenue, Moncton, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at The Moncton Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was employed 42 years at CN as a supervisor in the Stores Dept. prior to his retirement in 1985.
Born November 6, 1926 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Alice (Myshrall) Melanson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis (Deware) Melanson; his two loving children: Judy Williams (John) of Charlottetown, and Bruce (Rachel) of Ottawa; a sister, Doris Bourque of Moncton; a brother, Laurie (Rachel) of Holliston, MA; three grandchildren: Kari-Ann, Justin, and Jocelyne; four great-grandsons: Brandon, Donald, Ethan, and Brody.
He was a caring, dedicated, and devoted loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will also be missed by his many in-laws and his extended family, the Nelson's.
He is also predeceased by a sister, Helen; a brother, George; a son-in-law, Tom; a grand-daughther, Jill; his parents-in-law, Roy and Irene Deware.
Resting Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. The funeral mass will be held at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Friday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Moncton.

Sr. Stella LeBlanc
1926-2008
Sister Stella LeBlanc, n.d.s.c. (Marie-Bertille) of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away Thursday, August 28 2008 at the covent following a lengthy illness.
Born March 30, 1926 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Ephrem and Eugénie (Cormier) LeBlanc.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by a brother, Érice (Rita); two sisters: Corinne (Adelor) and Irène (Gérard); many nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Aquila, Ronald, Mélina, and Florine.
Remains resting at Notre-Dame d'Acadie Pavillion of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Godfrey Street entrance, Friday, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held in their chapel Saturday, August 30 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Memramcook.

Bernadette (Leménager) Léger
1920-2008
Bernadette (Leménager) Léger, 87, of Fredericton and formerly of Shediac passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton following a brief illness.
Born December 4, 1920 in Shediac Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Caissie) Leménager. Bernadette was a former employee with Paturels, Leger Drugs and N.B.L.C.C. prior to her retirement.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her former husband Maurice Léger, two sisters: Anida and Lena, and by three brothers: Roméo, Elphège and Msg. Albert Leménager.
Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Monday, September 1, 2008 from 9a.m. until time of Chapel Service at 10a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shediac.
