Thérèse Babineau
1927-2008

At the Dr. G.-L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, September 5, 2008, passed away Miss. Thérèse Babineau, 81, of Villa Providence, Shediac, and formerly of Robinson Street, Moncton.

Born August 5, 1927 in Notre-Dame, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Eugénie (Cormier) Babineau.

She was employed 37 years at the Dr. G.-L. Dumont Hospital prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her seven brothers: Aurèle (Nora), Ernest (late Marguerite), Alcide (late Thérèse), Gérard (Hélène), Hervé (Marie), Yvon, Oscar, (Annette); four sisters: Anita Cormier (Clovis), Léona Richard (Aimé), Cecile Ward, and Florine Babineau; many nieces, and nephews.

An infant brother, Léo, predeceased her.

Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Moncton, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Notre-Dame.

Visiting hours Monday evening from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until departure (10:50).

Memorial donations to the Fondation Providence (Bus Fund) would be appreciated.

Catherine Léger
1920-2008

Catherine Léger, 87, wife of Emery S. Léger formerly of Grand-Barachois passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Villa Providence, Shediac.

Born November 8, 1920 in Haute-Aboujagane, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Délia (Boudreau) Ouellette.

She will be sadly missed by her loving family, husband of 62 years Emery S. Léger of Shediac, four daughters: Jeanne Boudreau (late Sylvestre) of Cocagne, Louise Boudreau (Maurice) of Shediac, Emerise Bujold (Claude) of Haute Aboujagane and Lise Léger of Cap-Pelé; three sons: Donald (Diane) of Grand-Barachois, Léo (Joanne) and Michel (Lise-Anne) both of Shediac; one sister Flora Gallant (Walter) of Shediac; one brother Joseph Ouellette (Clémence) of Haute-Aboujagane, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and by many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a daughter Eva Doiron (1989), one sister Élodie Robichaud-Léger, two grand daughters: Chantal and Christine Doiron and by four brothers: Henri, Émile, Aimé and Gérard Ouellette.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be no visitation prior to the funeral on Saturday. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Saint-Henri Roman Catholic Church, Grand-Barachois. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Villa Providence Adapted Bus Fund, 403 Main St., Shediac, N.B. E4P 2B9 would be appreciated.

Regina Robichaud
1920-2008

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Regina Robichaud, 87, of Moncton, formerly of St-Ignace, which occurred at the Dr. G.-L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, September 12th 2008.

Born December 13, 1920 in Saint-Ignace, she was the daughter of the late Fidele and Marie Richard.

Regina was a very welcoming, sympathetic and generous woman. During her stay in St-Ignace, parishioners will remember her services rendered during parish suppers, as a cook at the Butreau and of all the beautiful wedding cakes she confected but mostly for how she loved and cared for her family.

She was an active member of the Club d’Age d’Or of Parkton. There she was able to nourish her passion of quilting with her friends, especially Mrs. Olezine Arseneault. At home she would make baby quilts and knit socks and mittens for the needy children of the neighborhood. Regina also liked music. She was part of the Notre-Dame-de-Grace choir and the Bel Age de la Cathedrale choir.

She is survived by her son, Donald (Gisele) of Moncton, her daughter, Marina Daigle (Louis) of Aldouane; her four grandchildren that she adored: Jolyne, Monique, Justin and Marc; her step-children: Christine Dumont, Laurette St-Pierre (Jacques), and Wilfred Robichaud (Jeanine) all of Montréal; her brother, Joseph Richard (Yvonne) of St-Ignace, her sister, Emma Bonnevie of Saint John, her adoptive sister, Angela Guay (Jacques) of Montréal; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her sisters-in-law: Anne Richard, Marie Gallant, Marie Richard (Wilfred), Rita Daigle (Ted), Laurette Richard, Diana Richard, Edith Richard, Roseline Richard.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Jacques Richard, her second, Mathias Robichaud, a brother, Armand, an adoptive brother, Émile Arsenault, many other brothers and sisters-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends Monday September 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. The funeral mass will be held at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church (Parkton) Tuesday September 16 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St-Ignace.

Mario Niles
1976-2008

Mario Niles, 32, formerly of Cap-Pelé died accidentally on Friday, September 12, 2008 in Dawson Creek, B.C.

Born March 11, 1976 in Moncton, N.B., Mario will be sadly missed by his loving mother Patricia Niles of Cap-Pelé, his girlfriend Wendy Davies and her children: Samantha, Jessica and Kristina, by his uncle, mentor and friend Vincent, his godmother Odette (Niles) Breau of Cap-Pelé and by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A considerate and caring young man, he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed canoeing, hiking and camping. Mario loved his job as a vacuum truck operator and enjoyed working in the western oil patch with his Inermax Inc. co-workers. His witty and mischievous smile will be missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Arthur and Clémentine (Boudreau) Niles and by a special cousin Léon Breau.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Saturday, from 7 to 9p.m., Sunday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Monday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure 10:50 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Cemetery Fund or to the South East Hability Center in Cap-Pelé would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Frenette Funeral Home Shediac Ltd.

Maurice R. Caissie
1937-2008

Maurice Raymond Caissie, 71, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born July 22, 1937 in Lewisville, he was a retired employee from CN. Maurice will be remembered as a kind good-hearted man who loved fishing and gardening. He was the beloved son of the late Alyre and Ida (leBlanc) Caissie. The loving brother of Thérèse Thomas and Alina Leger (Leonce) both of Montréal, Annette Madden (Alan) of Tide Head, Patricia Poirier (Roméo) of Ottawa, Arthur (Lucia) of Marlborough, MA, and Léonard Caissie of Saint John. Dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, and friends. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A public graveside service will be held on Monday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Moncton.

Rachel Long
1940-2008

Rachel Long 68, of Redwood Ave., Pointe-du-Chêne passed away at her residence on Monday, September 15th, 2008.

Born May 22, 1940 in Delson, Québec, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Lucille (Malo) St-James.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Murphy of California; one son, David Petit-Clerc of Edmonton, Alberta; two sisters: Linda Derome (Andre)and Brenda Brassard (Bob) both of Longueil, QC; two brothers: René St-James (Donna) of Delson, QC, and Gilles St-James (Jackie) of Mississauga, ON and by one granddaughter Danielle and one great great grandson Austin. Her husband Ronald Long predeceased her in 2007.

There will be no visitation or funeral service by family request. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Shediac. Cremation and burial arrangements have been entrusted to La Maison funéraire Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 main St., Shediac (532-3297). Special thanks to the Shediac Extra-Mural Hospital staff for the excellent care given to Rachel during her illness.If so desired, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (oncology) would be appreciated.
