Yvon P.J. Daigle, C.D.
1921-2008
Following a brief illness, Yvon Patrick J. Daigle, Sgt. Retd. C.D., 87, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, October 21st 2008.
Born March 17th, 1921 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Philias and Josephine (Bourgeois) Daigle.
He served in the RCAF during WWII and with distinction for the next 25 years where he retired with the rank of Sergeant. Following his military career, he was employed by the Bank of Montreal and became members of the Riverview Veterans Association and the Air Force Association of Canada. He enjoyed family camping trips, loved to garden, and was an avid sports fan including watching his children and grandchildren and his beloved Montreal Canadiens.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Orpha (Richard) Daigle; his six children: Jackie O’Reilley (Pat) of Halifax, Ron (May) of France, Claudette Boyd (Jim) and Cathy Williams (Paul) both of Montreal, Rob of Fredericton, Denise Daigle-McGrath (Pat) of Toronto; eight grandchildren: Derek (Jill), Deron (Cathy), Erin (Jason), Kelly, Justin, Ryan, Amber and Katelyn; two great grandchildren: Willem and Nate, a sister, Lorraine Poirier (late Nazaire) of Summerside; two step-brothers: Fred (Stacey) and Gerry (Diane) of Moncton; three step-sisters: Jeannette Hobbs (Danny) of Regina, Louise Cormier of Dieppe, Simonne Cormier (Rheal) of St-Antoine, many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his step-mother, Marianne (Cormier), a brother, Alban (Sally), and a step-sister, Geraldine Hamilton (Bill).
Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton. Visiting hours are Thursday, October 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at the N.-D.-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Friday, October 24 at 11a.m., a reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the IWK Children’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital, as well as Yvon’s physician, Dr. Peter Stoddard, for the excellent care received during his illness.
Antoinine Duguay-Melanson
1921-2008
Antoinine Duguay-Melanson, 87, of Manoir Pascal Poirier, Shediac and formerly of Trois-Ruisseaux passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Dr. Georges L Dumont Hospital, Moncton following a short illness.
Born March 1, 1921 in Dupuis Corner, she was the daughter of the late François and Delphine (Melanson) Landry.
She will be sadly missed by her five daughters: Dora Cormier (Françis) of Kitchener, ON, Loretta Cormier (Roger) and Florence Gallant (Elzéar) both of Grand-Barachois, Gisèle and Dianne Duguay both of Toronto, ON; five sons: Gérard Duguay (Hélèna) of Bas Cap-Pelé, Léo Duguay (Joan Brine) of Courtice, ON, Ronald Duguay (Jeanne) and Donald Duguay both of Trois-Ruisseaux, Paul Duguay (Françine) of Courtice, ON; five sisters: Alice Ouellette (late Johnny) and Geneva LeBlanc (late André) both of Petit-Cap, Diana Cormier (Léo) of Dupuis Corner, Dorine LeBlanc (Alonzo) of Cap-Pelé, Delphina LeBlanc (late Antoine) of Dover, N.B.; one brother François Landry (Florence) of Dupuis Corner; twenty two grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great great grand daughter; a special sister in law Louisa and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband Calixte Duguay (1974), five brothers: Benoît, Alderic, Edgar, Gonzague, Adelard and by three sisters: Marguerite, Bertha and Dora.
Funeral Mass will be held at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to La Maison funéraire Frenette Funeral Home, Chapel and Cremation Services Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297).
Flowers gratefully declined, however, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Jeannette Cormier
1940-2008
Jeannette Cormier, 68, of Bouctouche passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Bertha (Robichaud) Babin.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Alcide, two sons: Brian of New London, Conn and Danny of Bouctouche; two sisters: Thérèse Melanson (Laurie) of Waltham, Mass., Stella Cormier (Paul) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent; three brothers: Antoine Babin of St-Antoine, Théodule "Ted" Babin (Lorette) of Aldouane, Jean Babin (Alice) of Holliday, Florida, and a grandson Adam. She is predeceased by a son Alfred in 1995.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery in Ste-Marie-de-Kent. No visitation at the funeral home.

Vital Bourgeois
1924-2008
Vital passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital on Friday, October 31, 2008. He was born August 8, 1924 in Moncton the son of the late Marc and Lucie (Dupuis) Bourgeois; beloved husband of Honorine (née Caissie); loving father of Jeannette Arsenault (late Robert) of Rothesay, Armand (Fernande) of Moncton, Donna Baglole of Cambridge, ON, Roland (Charlotte) of Pte-du-Chêne and Francine Bourgeois of Moncton; pépère of Marc, Suzanne, Chantal, Lise, Michael, Patricia, Cory and the late Brandon; great-grandfather of Andrew, Adam, Sémira, Eulani, Isabella and Carson; dear brother of Valérie (Marguerite) of Ottawa. Vital was also predeceased by three sisters and six brothers.
He was a veteran of World War II having served with the Navy and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 6, Moncton. He was a dedicated employee with Via Rail for 41 years, retiring in 1981.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral in Moncton on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception in the church hall following the mass and interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe following the reception. As requested, there are no visiting hours. Contributions in memory of Vital can be made to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Regional Hospital Foundation’s 'Tree of Hope' campaign or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Hervé Richard
1922-2008
Hervé Richard, 85, of Cap-Pelé passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton following a lengthy illness.
Born December 21, 1922 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Maurice and Dévina (Cormier) Richard. An overseas Veteran with the Royal Canadian Army during the 2nd World War, Hervé served his country in Canada and in Holland with the Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Highland Regiment as a radio operator from 1944 - 1945. A well known entrepreneur, Mr. Richard was the proprietor of Marché Richard Market and the Cap-Pelé Shopping Center. He was also a Commissioner of Oaths in his community, an avid golfer and loved Country and Gospel Music. He was also well known for his quiet generosity and his deep faith in God.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years Louisa (Légère) Richard, three daughters: Joanne Richard (Paul) and Louise Hartley (David) both of Moncton, Rosemarie Lirette (Roger "Butch") of Grand-Barachois; two sons: Francis and Charles (Brenda) both of Cap-Pelé; three sisters: Aurore Boudreau (Al) of Springfield, Mass, Lorraine Bourgeois (Edmond) of Grande-Digue, Juliette Landry (Francis) of Memramcook; four brothers: Joseph (late Yvonne) of Cap-Pelé, Laurie (Anna) of Dieppe, Euloge (Cécile) of St-André-LeBlanc, Léon (Collette Arsenault) of Moncton; eight grandchildren: Carly, Nicholas, Anika, Jeffrey, Justin, Christophe, Lisa and Sarah; one great grandchild Tyler; two sisters-in-law: Élise and Alice Richard both of Cap-Pelé; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Valerie and Adelard and by two special nephews: Louis and Guy Richard.
Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Saturday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, from 10 a.m. until time of departure at 10:50 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
In his memory, donations may be made to the Hervé Richard Student Bursary or the Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Parish, Cap-Pelé (Comité d'entraide) or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Ovide "Bibi" Cormier
1950-2008
Accidentally doing what he loved the most, Ovide "Bibi" Cormier, 58, of Smith Ave., Shediac died tragically while fishing on Saturday, November 1, 2008.
Born February 28, 1950 in Bas Cap-Pelé, he was the son of Stella (LeBlanc) and the late Lionel Cormier.
Loving son, husband, father, brother and friend, Ovide will be sadly missed by his mother Stella (LeBlanc) Cormier of Belcourt Residence, Shediac, his wife of 34 years Anne Marie (Brun) Cormier, his daughters Lisa Cormier (Jean Gravel) of Eel River Crossing, Lynn Cormier (Jean-Marc Landry) at home, Linda Cormier (Daniel LeBlanc) of Fort McMurray, AB; four brothers: Ola Cormier (Jeannette) of Grand-Barachois, Roger Cormier (Gisèle) of Bas Cap-Pelé, Légis Cormier (Huberte) of Trois-Ruisseaux and Paul Melanson (Brenda) of Grand-Barachois; two sisters: Ella Wagner (Barry) of Moncton, Marie Boudreau (Ola) of Trois-Ruisseaux; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
