Later assisting Clifford in his duties as the general manager of the Eden Rock Motel.
A few years later, JoAnn was given the opportunity to manage The Doll House toyshop on Regent Street. Later, JoAnn accepted the position of executive-secretary to the Fredericton Real Estate Board, a post she held until her retirement.

Her contribution to that end included her tireless fund raising efforts for those with special needs. In recognition for her community service for children, she was awarded Canada's 125th Anniversary medal in 1992.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, Clifford Voller-Jones whom she met aboard ship while traveling abroad for an extended visit to England. Over the years, the love of the sea and travel created many fond memories for this happy couple.
