Eva M. Tapley
1922-2009
The passing of Eva Myrtle Tapley of Upper Kingsclear, NB and formerly of Marysville, beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Allen Tapley occurred on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 86. Born at Nortondale, NB on June 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late A. Hedley and Elsie (Stewart) Fawcett.
For many years Eva was a Homecare Worker and at one time was the church secretary at the Marysville United Pentecostal Church. She was an avid quilter and knitter and especially enjoyed craftwork. Before moving to Marysville in 1960 she was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church at Waterville, NB and in her last years attended Life Tabernacle.
She is survived her daughter, Ferne Bell (Leslie) of Upper Kingsclear and four sons, Ernest (Marilyn) of Kelowna, BC, Dale (Terry) of Lincoln, NB, Perley (Bev) of Hanwell and Ervin (Loretta) of Fredericton; 15 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Fekette (Tony) of Yukon and Donna Scott (Archie) of Quispamsis; two brothers, John Fawcett of Millville and Ivan Fawcett (Edith) of Fredericton; nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by a brother Albert (Bert) Fawcett.
Eva will be resting at Life Tabernacle, 1644 Hanwell Road, on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A celebration of Eva’s life will be held from Life Tabernacle on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Terry Messer and Rev. Joe Beesley officiating. Interment will be held in the Rural Cemetery, Woodstock Road, immediately following the service.
Pallbearers will be her four sons Ernest, Dale, Perley and Ervin Tapley and grandsons Chris Tapley and Jim Bell. It was Eva’s request that memorial contributions be made to Life Tabernacle.

Anthony "Tony" Gadd
1941-2009
Anthony John Gadd passed away peacefully Monday May 25th, 2009, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born on May 2nd, 1941 in Southport England to the late Reverend F.A. and Mollie Gadd, Tony emigrated to Canada as a teenager with his family, settling first in rural Ontario and then in Saint John N.B. After graduating from U.N.B. Tony spent his life pursuing various business interests in Fredericton and was known for his interest in boats, English literature and good conversation. He will be remembered and sadly missed by; his wife Wanda (Dickinson) and sons Andrew and Mark, children Carla, David and Andrea Boyd from his first marriage; sisters Jennifer Collett-White (Thomas) and Susan Ferris (Charles) and brother Peter (Deana); sister-in-law Ann Gadd, and all their families. He was pre-deceased by his sister Rosemary and brother Jeremy. He will also be fondly remembered by many friends including the members of The Men’s Coffee Club.
The funeral will be held at Christ Church Cathedral in Fredericton on Thursday May 28th at 2:00 pm. At the request of the family there will not be a visitation but a reception will follow the funeral at the Cathedral Memorial Hall on Church Street. It is the family’s wishes that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Tony’s name be made to Christ Church Cathedral, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Marie Celine Bishop
1926-2009
The passing of M. Celine Bishop of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, May 9th, 2009. She was 82. Born in Baie Saint Anne, NB, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Celine (Manuel) Durell and wife of the late Ralph Wesley Bishop. Celine was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, the CWL, and Rebecca Lodge #102.
She is survived by her son Everett Wesley Bishop wife Joyce of Fredericton; grandchildren Erin Patricia Bishop and Troy Bishop both of Fredericton; great grandson Jayden Christopher; special nephew Lloyd Shaw; sister Ludivine Murphy; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Leona, Lina; brothers Hervin, Aube and Eddie. .
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd. on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at 11:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment in the Hermitage Cemetery.
For those who wish memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, DECRH or charity of the donors choice.
Ross MacDonald Anderson
1927-2009
At the St John Regional Hospital on Friday May 22nd, 2009, Ross MacDonald Anderson passed away at the age of 82. Born in Lower Caverhill, NB he was the son of the late James and Olive (Barton) Anderson.
Ross is survived by his wife; Barbara Munn; 4 daughters; Rose Johnston of Hanwell, Sherry Warren of Rusagonis, Lynda Peters of Nasonworth and Nancy Anderson of Waasis; grandchildren; Steven Johnston of Ontario, Michael Johnston (Alicia) of Fredericton, Susi Warren of Rusagonis, Vicki Warren-Saunders of Rusagonis, Peter Warren of Rusagonis, Stephanie Peters of Fredericton, Joshua Peters of Nasonworth and Ben Anderson of BC, great-grandchildren; Jessy Brown of Fredericton, Luke Saunders of Rusagonis and Amber Saunders of Rusagonis, brothers Darrell Anderson (Rebecca) of St. John’s NFLD, Gordon Anderson (Gail) of Harvey; Aunt Edie Howland (Doug), Uncle Clarence Barton; step-daughter, Linda Nason of Fredericton and step-son Myles Munn of Fredericton; also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma Fox.
Visitation will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Monday May 25th, from 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday May 26th 2009 at 11 AM at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Laurie Fenerty Officiating. Interment in the Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery. A reception will be held immediately following the service. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Blanche Eileen Mazerall
1928-2009
The passing of Blanche E. Mazerall of Fredericton, NB occurred at Fredericton, NB on Thursday, June 4th, 2009. She was 80. Born at Dow Settlement, NB, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Beatrice Dow. Blanche retired from UNB where she was employed as a Text Book Buyer.
She is survived by her husband Robert; children Pam Moody (Wilmot) of Fredericton, Al (Lesley) of Pickering, Ont., and Darcy of Fredericton; grandchildren Cassandra, Brandon and Craig; great-grandchild Tristyn; brothers Dennis Dow of Dow Settlement and Lewis Dow of Kingston, Ont.; sister Rowena Dow of Prince George, BC; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Madeline Cummings and Bertha Rickard.
Visitation will be held on Sunday June 7, 2009, at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd. from 6-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00PM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Claude Gilks officiating. Interment in the Rural Cemetery. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Diabetic Association or NB Heart & Stroke Fund.
Michael R. Stairs
1952-2009
On June 4, 2009 Michael Raymond Stairs of Sheffield, NB passed into the presence of his Savior. He was 56. Born in Woodstock, NB on August 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Catherine E. (Hanson) Stairs. Michael was an active member of Praise Christian Fellowship and treasured the fellowship with his church family. He was an avid sports card collector and an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Michael worked as a Medical Attendant at Mill Cove Nursing Home for a number of years.
He is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Khoury of Fredericton and Mary Paul Bradley (Peter) of Kingston, Ont.; three brothers, Paul of Fredericton, Bob (Judy) of Keswick Ridge and Brian (Sandra) of Fredericton; two foster sisters, June Brewer (Francis) of Burtts Corner and Edith Gallagher of Fredericton; seven nieces, Susan Khoury of Thunder Bay, Ont., Alyson Paul of Kingston, Ont., Shawna Quinn (Greg) of Upper Gagetown, Leslie Paul-Plaster, Charlotte Davidson (Stephen), Shasta Stairs and Carrie Lynn Stairs all of Fredericton; two great-nephews, Joseph Plaster and William Stairs; one great niece, Gwen Davidson; several aunts and cousins.
Michael was predeceased by his parents; his foster mother and father, Hazel and Elwood Hawkins; brothers, Weldon, Blaine and William (Bill); a foster sister, Alice Moore; a foster brother, Jim Hawkins and a niece, Sonya Khoury.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Saturday, June 6, 2009 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Michael Orser officiating. Interment in the Mouth of Keswick Cemetery. For those who wish to make contributions in memory of Michael, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (NB), the Gideon Bible Society or to Praise Christian Fellowship (Missions) would be appreciated by the family.
Kenneth Irvine Hanson
1951-2009
At the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital, on August 19, 2009, Kenneth Irvine Hanson passed away at the age of 58. Born in Douglas, NB, he was a son of the late Nelson and Mary (Morehouse) Hanson. Ken worked as a custodian with the Playhouse and Experimental Farm.
He is survived by his companion Yvette; stepson Troy; special grandchildren Brandon, Dallas, Madison, Duncan, Brianna, Brayden, and Melody; sisters Connie Ladds (Donald) of Minto, Mavis Blanchard (Lloyd) of Rusagonis, Bernice Hodgson (Harold) of Three Tree Creek and Ruby Mills (Peter) of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Freddie, Ned and Rupert; and a sister Linda Hanson.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Blanchard, Russel Hayward, Willard Crawford, Robin Harrison, Ralph Hodgson and Lloyd Blanchard. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
