George Hanna
1991-2007
The passing of George Hanna age 16 occurred at home in Fredericton on Sunday November 25, 2007. Born in Fredericton, he was affiliated with St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church
He is survived by his mother Vivian Hanna of Lebanon; father Charlie Hanna of Fredericton; sister Amanda Hanna of Lebanon; brother Charbel Hanna of Fredericton; uncle Habib Hanna (Yvonne) of Fredericton; aunts Genevieve Akouri (Joe), Samera Moussa (Johnny), and Montoura Soffee (Michael) all of Fredericton; as well as many other cousins, aunts and uncles in Lebanon.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd. Fredericton with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday November 29, 2007 from St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church at 12:00 noon with Father Youssef Elias officiating. Interment will follow in the Hermitage Cemetery. Everyone is invited to return to the St. Charbel Church following the committal for a reception.
Bruce Baxter Lackie
1948-2007
The passing of Bruce B. Lackie age 59 of New Maryland occurred at his residence on Monday, November 26, 2007. Born in Saint John he was a son of Charles Lackie and the late Ella Mae (Baxter) Lackie. Bruce was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nasonworth and employed as a Supervisor of Maintenance with the City of Fredericton and heavy equipment mechanic by trade.
Survived by his wife Louise Lackie; daughters Shelley Craig (Chris) of Beaverdam, Charlene Vallance (Michael) of Saint John, and Dawn Marie Durepos (Jeff) of Tracy; six grandchildren Kaitlan and Nicole Craig, Michael, Mathew and Sarah Vallance, and Scott Durepos; his very special pet Jay Jay; brother Brian Lackie (Maxine); uncles Harold Lackie and Murray Baxter; mother-in-law Myrtle Baxter; sister…in-laws Lorraine Roberts (Douglas), Anna Donovan (Arthur); brother-in-laws Karl Baxter (Diane), Bryan Baxter (Betty), Ronald Baxter (Terry), Donis Baxter (Patsy), Randall Baxter (Wendy), James Reynolds (Janice); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd. Fredericton with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday November 30, 2007 from the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nasonworth at 11:00am with Rev. Bruce McKenna officiating. Interment will be in the Saint Mary the Virgin Cemetery, New Maryland. Following the committal everyone is welcome to return to the church hall for a reception. For those who wish memorials may be made to the NB Extra Mural Association or charity of the donor’s choice.
Walter William Phipps
1927-2007
The passing of Walter Phipps occurred at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday evening, November 25, 2007. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts on June 7, 1927, he was a son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Kingston) Phipps.
He is survived by his wife Ruby (Lenentine) Phipps; a brother James Phipps wife Lois of Hamilton, Mass.; three nieces Sharon Ercha of Hamilton, Mass., Nancy Gilbert (Ken) of Shrewsbury, Mass., and Julie Rearic (David) of Scotia, NY. two nephews Jim Phipps (Sandi) of Ipswich, Mass., and Jeff Phipps (Paula) of Lynn, Mass. In addition to his parents Walter was predeceased by a brother Joseph Phipps and his wife Barbara.
As a veteran of World War II, Walter served in the United States Navy. Among other things people could appreciate his neatness, organizational skills and ability to be creative.

Frank Green
1946-2007
The passing of Joseph Francis (Frank) Green of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, November 23, 2007 at the age of 61. He was the son of the late Eugene and Bertha Green (Hawkes).
Frank was an avid bingo player and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a welder by trade. Member of the Holy Family Parish Church.
Survived by his children: Kathy (Jamie Till), Greg (Wendy McKeil), and Bobby, two grand children Tyler and Mychelle, special friend Peggy Bennet, the mother of his children Doris Green; one sister Myrna O’Hara (Fred), his niece Janice Smith (Ron) and 2 great nieces Jennifer and Kristen. Frank was predeceased by his brother Roy and sister Rose.

John "Jack Francis Hanley
1926-2007
The passing of Jack Hanley of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the age of 81. Born January 20, 1926 in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Stella Hanley. Jack served overseas during World War II and again in the Korean Conflict where he was wounded in action. He left the military in 1959 and settled in Fredericton where he went to work for the Co-op, then the Town of Marysville Police Department, and in 1973 with amalgamation moved to the Public Works Department, City of Fredericton where he retired in 1986. A member of the Our Lady of Fatima Church, past member of the Marysville Wisemans Club, and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 Marysville. Jack was inducted into the Fredericton Sports Wall of Fame in 2005 after coaching all levels of minor hockey for 35 years, and local baseball from minor level to the Fredericton Senior Royals. He may have seemed tough and gruff with his players, but to him all were his children and they loved and wanted to be on Jack’s team. One of his greatest and most enjoyable moments in his coaching career was being able to be on the staff of the Royals along side of his friend Chris “Bubba” MacPherson.
Survived by his wife Jennie (Frost) Hanley; their children Diane (Austin) of Fawcett Hill, Harry (Maureen) of Kamloops BC, Ernie of Calgary Alta. And Dorothy (Arthur) of Nashwaak Bridge; 3 grandchildren Richard Sellers (Sharon), Bobby Sellers (Ginette) and Taylor; 3 great-grandchildren D.J., Brandon and Nick; a brother Arthur Quinn of Oromocto; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Monday November 26, 2007 from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 11am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery. For those who wish memorials may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15 will hold a tribute service Sunday evening 7pm at the Funeral Home.
Robin Ernest Palmer
1917-2007
The passing of Robin E. Palmer of North Bay, Ontario occurred at the North Bay General Hospital, on December 1, 2007, at the age of 89. Born in Avery’s Portage, NB, he was a son of the late Robert and Daisy Mae Palmer and husband of the late Ella Faye(Clowater) Palmer.
Robin was a carpenter and bricklayer in his later years having built many homes. He is survived by a son Elton Palmer (Marilyn) of North Bay, ONT.; daughters Connie Palmer (Ron) and Keena Wheaton (Derek) all of Saint John NB; brothers Claude Palmer of Boiestown NB, and Gerald Palmer of Saint John NB; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by a brother Willard Palmer; two sisters Evelyn Munn and Lorraine Calhoun.
Resting at the Boiestown Pentecostal Church with visitation on Wednesday December 5, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday December 6, 2007 from the Boiestown Pentecostal Church at 2 pm with Rev. Rob Hanson and Rev. David Williston officiating. Interment will be held in the spring in the Astle Community Cemetery. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society NB Division.
Margaret "Peggy" Gilbey
1921-2007
The passing of Margaret “Peggy” Gilbey occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on December 7th, 2007, at the age of 86. Margaret was a resident of Curtis Special Care Home, Douglas, NB. She was born August 9, 1921 in New Glasgow, NS. Her mother, the late Margaret Tracy; her husband, H. Leroy “Roy” Gilbey and brothers Robert and David all predeceased her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Margaret is survived by a son Leonard Gilbey (Debbie) of Hanwell, NB and a daughter Charlene Cyr (Dave) of Eastern Passage, NS; four grandchildren, Krista Grieve (Jeff) of Harvey, NB, Monica Cenerini (Richard), Mike Cyr (Laura) and Mark Cyr (Tammy) all of NS and nine great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation and the funeral service will be private. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorials to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
