Florence Christena Arbeau
1933-2007
Surrounded by her loving family, Florence Christena Arbeau of Fredericton and formerly of Penniac, NB, went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 73. Born September 25, 1933 in Fredericton (Devon), she was the daughter of the late Marvel and Myna (Austin) Porter. Florence was a member of the Capital Community Church (United Pentecostal Church, Marysville. Florence was a former employee of the Marysville Cotton Mill.
She is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Sutton (Sam) of Lincoln, Sharon Lyons (Lenny) of Manitoba and Cathy Barnes (Joe) of Ontario; 10 grandchildren, Pam MacPherson, Larry Sutton, Mark Sutton, Jason Lyons, Vicki Olafson, Justin Lyons, Sabrina Lyons, Andy Radke, Becky Radke and Brittany Radke; 6 great grandchildren, Taylor, Collin, Charlie, Jared, Deidra and Madison; one brother, Leo Porter (Shirley) of Fredericton Junction; nieces and nephews. Her parents, a brother Vincent Porter, and sisters Eva Peterson and Mae Stewart all predeceased her.
Visitation will be held at the Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., Fredericton, on Saturday September 1, 2007 from 7-9pm and Sunday September 2, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Capital Community Church on Monday September 3, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Raymond Woodward officiating, Interment will be held in the Sunny Bank Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Northeast Christian College, Fredericton, would be appreciated by the family.
Kenneth Foster Clarke
The passing of Kenneth F. Clarke of Nashwaak Village, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 11th, 2007 at the age of 61. Born at Grand Lake, NB he was a son of the late Harold and Hazel (MacFarlane) Clarke.
Ken worked at the Marysville Cotton Mill and later was employed as a taxi driver mostly with Diamond Taxi.
Survived by a brother Richard Clarke wife Marsha of Napadogan; sister Marion Clarke of Nashwaak Village; nieces and nephews.
A public graveside service will be held at the Douglas Rural Cemetery on Friday August 17, 2007 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.
Margaret Lee Sacobie
1956-2009
The passing of Margaret L. Sacobie occurred at Fredericton, NB on Saturday, May 9th, 2009. She was 53. Born in Saint John.
She is survived by her husband Bert Sacobie; step children Bert Sacobie Jr. and Lucy Ann Sacobie; as well as many friends.
Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd. on Tuesday May 12, 2009 from 6-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Interment at a later date.
Harry Edward Dunbar
1915-2007
On Sunday, August 26th, 2007, Harry E. Dunbar of Fredericton passed away at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age 92. Born in Fredericton he was the son of the Harry and Annie (Ferris) Dunbar and predeceased by his first wife Alberta “Toots” Dunbar. Harry spent his working years as a pharmacist, and loved the outdoors especially fishing and hunting.
Survived by his wife Beverly Dunbar; sons Alex Dunbar (Avis), John Dunbar (Barb) all of Fredericton; daughters Sharon VanGent (Kees) of Napanee, Ont. and Mary Jardine (Frank) of Fredericton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Marguerite Herbert, Joyce Heins both of Fredericton, and Alice Dempsey of St. Stephen; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by numerous brothers and sisters and daughter Anne Marie Farrell in 2004.
Although there will be no visitation, a funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 29, 2007 at 11:00 am from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Rd. with Rev. H. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Canadian Cancer NB Division would be appreciated by the family.
Robert Gordon "Bob" Lindsay
1930-2007
At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday September 2nd, 2007 Robert (Bob) Gordon Lindsay of Lincoln, NB went to be with the Lord at the age of 77. Born in Greenwich Hill, NB., he was the son of the late Gordon and Hazel (Hall) Lindsay. He was also predeceased by a brother Ronald Lindsay of Dartmouth, NS.
Bob was self employed and owned Bestway Ventilation Ltd. until he retired in 2000. He was president of the local chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men International and retired as Director in the mid nineties. Bob attended Fredericton Word of Faith Family Church with his wife Eileen, and was also actively involved in God Is Able Ministries.
He is survived by his wife Eileen (Betts) Lindsay; one son R. Steven Lindsay and wife Dianne of Calgary, Alberta; one daughter Patricia "Patty" Sewalt and husband Kevin of Dallas Texas; grandchildren Jessica, Jeremy, Timothy, Ian, Ryan and Brandon; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road with visitation on Wednesday, September 5th 2005 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday September 6th, 2007 at 11:00 am at Word of Faith Family Church, Lower Saint Mary's. The Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Interment will be held at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Kingston Peninsula, NB at 4 pm following the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Fredericton Community Kitchen.
Murray A. Reid
1920-2007
The passing of Murray Alexander Reid formerly of Beaverdam, NB, occurred at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley, NB on Sunday, August 12th, 2007. He was 87. Born April 3rd, 1920 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late Sandy and Almeda (Conroy) Reid. Murray was Anglican by faith. He was employed as a “cuber” with L.E. Shaw Ltd. for many years. A veteran of the Second World War, he served with the 5 Med. R.C.A. as a “gunner” having served in Canada, United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area and Continental Europe.
Murray is survived by one son, Norman Reid (Colleen) of Beaverdam; three daughters, Mary Caterini (Terry) of Beaverdam, Reta Allen (Larry) of Penniac and Patricia (Tricia) Hodgson (Vernon) of Nashwaaksis; nine grandchildren, Kelli, Jennifer, Keith, Sarah, Tara, Joey, Brett, Christina and Jeff; a great granddaughter, Alexia; one brother, Stanley Reid (Velma) of Williamsburg, NB; two sisters, Mary Rusonik of Oshawa, Ont. and Eileen Amos (Leslie) of Doaktown, NB; nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Joan Vesta (Randall) Reid, a brother Arnold Reid and two sisters Betty Fraser and Pearl Clowater.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, where visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bruce McKenna officiating followed by interment in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Beaverdam, NB.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association (NB), the Parkinson Society of Canada (Maritime Division) or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Tuesday August 14th at 7pm.
Mikayla Angel Brooks
Mikayla Angel Brooks of Fredericton will be sadly missed by her parents Michael Jr. and Heather Brooks as well as her two brothers Michael and Marshall all of Fredericton. She also is survived by Grandparents Brenda Colford of Brandon, Manitoba, Michele Jones of Kingsley, Dean and Darlene Brooks of St. Mary’s; Great Grandparents Gail Parkhurst of Connecticut, Lillian and Pearl Colford of Doaktown; Aunts Kea (Orick) Hayes of St. Mary’s, Sara Urquhart of Lincoln, Leeann Jones of Kingsley, Bobby Jo Nash of St. Mary’s; Uncles Dennis Urquhart of Brandon, Manitoba, Everett Brooks of St. Mary’s, Dallas Urquhart of Blackville, Andy Nash of Meatford, Ontario; cousins Breanne Hayes, Thomas Brooks, and Bryce Nash.
Visitation will be Monday September 3, 2007 at 40 Maliseet Drive, St. Mary’s First Nation from 11:00am to 1:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm from in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
