Arthur Edward Bear
1951-2007
The passing of Arthur E. Bear of 57 Paul St., St. Mary’s First Nation occurred at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the age of 55. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of Rebecca (Paul) Bear and the late Albert Edward Bear. A member of Sunset Church, Art was a cabinet maker and contractor, and the former chief of St. Marys First Nation for ten years.
Surrounded by his loving family he is survived by his wife Lorraine (Sappier) Bear; two sons Gerald and Michael; three daughters Melanie, Melissa, and Ursula all of Fredericton; three sisters Debra McKay (Wayne), Edna Paul all of Fredericton and Leanne Bear of Edmonton Alta.; four brothers Martin (Sue), Ned, Peter, and Terry all of Fredericton; 8 Grandchildren; several god children; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters Jane Laura Paul and Rosemary Stonham as well as a grandson Arthur Patrick Bear.
Resting at 57 Paul St. on Friday and Saturday until 4 PM at which time his remains will be taken to Sunset Church on Clements Drive where service will be held at 6PM with Rev. Joe Beesley and Rev. Richard Bragdon officiating. Interment will be held in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
For those who wish memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society NB Division or the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. Bishops Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road have been entrusted with the arrangements. (458-1885)
Ethel Lydia Bunker
The passing of Ethel Lydia Bunker, of Mazerolle Settlement, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the age of 66. Born in Kingsclear, NB, she was a daughter of the late Earl Norman and Annie May (Courser) Gallagher.
She is survived by her husband Roy; a son Terry; a daughter Debra Marie MacDonald and her husband Bill; grandchildren Gregory, Jamie, Chris and Jill; one sister Mrs. Rita Miller and her husband Manley of Upper Kingsclear; one aunt Arletta (Lettie) Gallagher of Upper Kingsclear; several nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; one sister Glenna Marie Chessie; one brother Winston Earl Gallagher.
No visitation by request of the family. Private cremation will take place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Bishop’s Funeral Home have been entrusted with the arrangements.
Roberta Edith Luella Morais
At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday January 13, 2007 Roberta Edith Luella Morais of New Maryland passed away at the age of 83. Born in Fredericton, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Lillian (Nason) Price.
She is survived by her son Ron Morais and his fiancée Carol and her ray of sunshine Destiny Jade; her sisters Velma Bearisto, Lillian Riley (Stan) and Arlene Sarty (Brian Campbell); numerous nieces and nephews. Roberta was also predeceased by her husband Albert Morais; a sister Leona Price; brothers Milton and Warren Price.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton with visitation on Monday evening from 7-9 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church in New Maryland on Tuesday January 16, 2007 at 11:00 am with Father Bonnaventure officiating. Interment at the Hermitage Cemetery will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Norbert Robichaud
The passing of Norbert Robichaud of Mill Cove Nursing Home occurred on Sunday, January 7, 2007. Born in Inkerman, NB, Norbert was a blacksmith for many years and worked at King’s Landing.
He is survived by his two daughters Bernita Brideau Waite (Paul) of Fredericton, Norma Jean Robichaud of Fredericton; two stepdaughters Delores (Emile) Hashe of Le-Goulet NB, Delisca (Daryl) Prince of Jemseg; one stepson Eculid (Brenda) Brideau of Durham Bridge; three brothers Gilbert (Ida) of Caraquet, Edmund of Inkerman, Joe of Seven Islands, Labrador; three sisters Imedla Robichaud of Inkerman, Beth Hashe of Inkerman, Angelie (Gilles) Robichaud of PEI; grandchildren Brock and Dakota; several great grandchildren (who loved him very much) and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Louisa (Arsenault) Robichaud; one sister Maria; one brother Albert.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:30-5 & 7-9 pm at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. The funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Church on Thursday January 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Yvette G. (Poulin) Dumont
1922-2006
On July 31, 2006 at the age of 84, Yvette Dumont passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in St. Eleuthere, Quebec on July 29, 1922, Yvette was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Lambert) Poulin. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard Dumont and a son Jeannot. Yvette was a long time resident of Plaster Rock where she was an employee of the Tobique Valley Hospital.
She is survived by one brother, Lucien Poulin of Montreal; her children, daughters Lena Lemay (Yves) (grandchildren Pierre, Diane and Andre) of Montreal, Colette Thomas (David) (grandchildren Marc, Owen) of Toronto, Ginette Canini (grandchildren Lisa and Tina) of Toronto and Marlene Pinette (Hildor) (grandchildren Micheline, Marc and Peter) of Fredericton; also grandchildren Danny, Roger and Marie (Jeannot’s children) and 12 great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral service at the request of the deceased. Following cremation, her ashes will be interred at a later date in Plaster Rock, NB. For those who wish to make memorial contributions, the family has suggested the Canadian Cancer Society and The Osteoporosis Society of Canada.
Doris E. Crawford
The passing of Doris Evelyn Crawford of Fredericton, NB occurred at the York Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, August 23rd 2006. Born in Zealand NB, she was the daughter of the late Percy & Blanche (Jewett) Graham and wife of the late George (Bun) Edward Crawford.
Roman Catholic by faith Doris is survived by 4 sons; Ronald (Helen) of Fredericton, Darrell (Ghislaine) of Moncton, Brian (Joan) of Fredericton, Bradley (Mindy) of Fredericton, 2 daughters; Marlene Legere (Ivan) of Fredericton and Nancy Ashurst and husband David of Toronto, Ont. 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews & cousins. Predeceased by 2 sisters Ruby Doran and Flora Graham and by a brother Basil Graham.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road were visitation will be held Friday August 25th from 2-4, & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1 PM at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment in St. Anthony’s cemetery to follow. For those who wish, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of Doris.
Thelma F DORCAS
1917-2006
The passing of Thelma Florence Dorcas formerly of Durham, NB occurred at her home in Penniac on Saturday, August 12, 2006. She was 89. Born at Kingsley, NB on February 21, 1917, she was the daughter of the late George and Estella Anderson. Besides her parents, Thelma was predeceased by her husband Clair (Pike) Dorcas; a grandson Terry McCoy; sisters, Gladys Dykeman and Zella Anderson and a brother Keith Anderson.
Thelma was a member of the Olivet Wesleyan Church and the Nashwaak Valley Golden Age Club.
She is survived by two sons, David (Judy) of Penniac and Brian of Durham Bridge; four daughters, Marjorie McCoy (Ron) of Nashwaak Village, Elaine Gowan (Clifford) of St. Stephen, Barbara McGivney (Richard) of Durham and Colleen Laagland of Fredericton; 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Anderson of Fredericton; three sisters, Annie Graham (Clifford) of Maugerville, Inez Hastings of Fredericton and Jean Elgee of Fredericton; many nieces and nephews.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, where visitation will be held Monday 2-4and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Olivet Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Tom Ward will officiate. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony McCoy, Steven Dorcas, Darren Dorcas, Dana Dorcas, Todd McGivney and Michael Laagland. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
