Patricia Cecilia Adela Stuart

STUART, Patricia Cecilia Adela (Flanders)
At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, Patricia Cecilia Adela (Flanders) Stuart, of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Robert Stuart; parents Adela and Hubert Flanders; brothers, Clayton Flanders and H. Harold Flanders and half sister Shirley Philbrook. Survived by sons Robert N. Stuart and wife Kimberly and W. Thomas Stuart and wife Carmen; two grandsons, Dylan and Blake; two half sisters, Mary Ann Birney and Charlene Hilberer and a half brother Marcus Flanders; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Pat lived on Dundonald St. for her entire married life. One of her loves was spending summers at the family cottage on Lake George. She worked at the Hartt Shoe Factory as a young woman. In later years she worked at the Harriet Irving Library. She was active in Christ Church Parish Church and was an African Violet enthusiast. Upon retirement she had the opportunity to make several overseas trips with other Fredericton residents. She enjoyed the company of family and neighborhood friends who will remember her as a quiet, gentle woman.
A memorial service will be held St. Ann’s Chapel of Ease, Westmoreland St., Fredericton on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Venerable John Sharpe officiating. There will be a committal service at a later date at St. Ansgar’s Anglican Church Cemetery, New Denmark, New Brunswick in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Bishop’s Funeral Home (458-1885), 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB in charge of arrangements.
Margaret (Peggy) A. Burt
The passing of Margaret (Peggy) Agnes (Mann) Burt of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the age of 81. She was born February 19, 1925 in Sydney, NS. In her younger years, Peggy was an avid golfer and curler and as a young girl she excelled at tennis. One of her greatest pleasures was swimming in her swimming pool. She was a member of the Capital Winter Club and the Fredericton Golf Club.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 56 years, Otto B. Burt and a son Charles Burt of Fredericton. Also survived by dear friends, Don and Louise McConaghy.
By request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service for Peggy will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 1:30 PM. Rev. Reg Miller will officiate. Interment at a later date. Memorials to the Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Doris Adamson
1935-2007
The passing of Doris Adamson of Fredericton occurred on Tuesday, January 23, 2007. She was 71. She was born June 9, 1935 in Austria. Doris was employed with the Diplomat Restaurant for 20 years. Doris was known for brightening others lives with her thoughtfulness and generosity. She will be warmly missed by many dear friends who loved her. A stepson Alan and a stepdaughter Valerie survive her.
Doris had requested no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be private. For those who wish, memorials to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Bishop’s Funeral Home (458-1885) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Ken D.A. Whaley
At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Tuesday January 16, 2007 Ken Whaley of Fredericton passed away at the age of 63.
Born in England, he was a self employed Geologist. Ken was also a former Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his wife Theresa and his children Roisin, Alex and Vicky; as well as his three sisters; nieces and nephews; his caregiver Ross and many friends and colleagues in the mining industry. He will be sadly missed and loved always.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, NB with visitation Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Church of St. Peter on Woodstock Road Fredericton on Friday January 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb officiating. Interment at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Norma T. Paul
The passing of Norma Theresa Paul of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 14, 2007. Norma was 65. Born in Fredericton on February 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy (Nash) Saulis. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, an avid Bingo player and enjoyed the company of her extended “Poker” family.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, William “Hoppy” Paul; four daughters, Julia Clark (Dennis), Barbara Saulis, Linda Drummond and Christina Craig (Steven) all of Fredericton; one son, Philip Saulis of Fredericton; two chosen daughters, Theresa and Ginny Saulis; one very special chosen grandson, Terry Young; one precious granddaughter, Mya Craig; one grandson Andrew; one brother George Saulis (Debby) of Oromocto; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norma is resting at her residence, 430 Maliseet Drive, St. Mary’s First Nation, Fredericton, beginning Monday afternoon. The mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Monte Peters as Celebrant. Interment in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in the Spring. Bishop’s Funeral Home (458-1885) have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Albert William Ferris
1919-2007
The passing away of Albert William Ferris at the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB, occurred on January 7, 2007.
Born May 21, 1919 in Tadley Hampshire, England. Son of Cecil and Katherine (Saunders) Ferris. He served overseas in the Second World War with the 22nd Armored Regiment Grenadier Guards in Belgium, Holland, and Germany.
He worked with Crown Construction, Atmus Construction, and Mack Maritime until he retired. He was an active member of the Fredericton City Club, the Fredericton Golf and Curling Club, and The Royal Canadian Legion, branch #4.
Bert is survived by his wife Eileen (Francis) Ferris of Fredericton, two sons, Thomas A. Ferris (Lucinda) of Atlanta Georgia, Peter Ferris (Diane) of Fredericton, and 1 daughter Lisa Ferris (Walter) Fredericton.
He is also survived by his sister Jean Young, Fredericton. His 5 grandchildren, Dustin, Donald, Ryan, Megan, Christopher and his 2 great-grandchildren, Jaimie and Brandon.
He is predeceased by 2 sisters, Betty Bartlett and Laura Jacobson, and 1 brother Donald Ganong.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Veterans Health Unit for their wonderful care and compassion; as well as, support to the family.

Kevin Russell Yerxa
The passing of Kevin R. Yerxa of Fredericton occurred at home on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. Born in Fredericton he was 45.
He is survived by a brother Stephen Yerxa of Fredericton; a sister Marianne MacDonald (George) of Ottawa, Ont.; two aunts Carole Cantle (Roy) and Harriet Stairs all of Fredericton; two uncles Ralph Yerxa and Donald Yerxa (Jessie) all of the Fredericton area; three nephews; several cousins. Predeceased by his mother Marion Yerxa.
By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Richard Taylor Mersereau
1926-2007
Passed away on January 26, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at Fredericton. He was born November 04, 1926, the son of Harry Sterling and Mary Edna (Keith) Mersereau. Predeceased by his parents, infant brother McLeod, infant daughter Linda Mary Mersereau, and brothers Keith and LeBaron, sisters Mildred, Harriet and Lou.
Survived by his wife Eileen Maude (Dorcas) Mersereau, their family Kathy Smith and her husband Brian and their daughter Kimberly Smith of Fredericton, Sam Mersereau and his wife Deborah Phillips of Hampton, Ivan Gallager and his wife Claudia and their son Iva of Brandon, Manitoba and sister Shirley Flewelling and her husband Paul and their family of Kingston, Ontario and several nieces and nephews.
Our family extends a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses of the cardiac care unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for the many years of care and in particular during the recent months when our father was in declining heath. We also want to acknowledge the doctors and nurses of the cardiac units of the Montreal General and Halifax hospitals. We extend a heart felt thank you to Reverend Gil MacKenzie for his friendship and support to our family over many years and in particular the past months. Also, our thanks to the many family members, neighbours and friends that have extended their kindness and caring to our parents during the many years of our fathers declining health.
At our fathers request his remains have been cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at the Mersereau family plot at the Rusagonis Rural Cemetery at a later date with the Reverend Gil MacKenzie officiating. In lieu of flowers may we suggest donations to a local food bank, homeless shelter or Salvation Army, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
