Morrissey (Moe) Edmund Gaston

The death of Morrissey (Moe) Edmund Gaston husband of Exelda Gaston of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 75. Born in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late William and Lucy (Robinson) Gaston. Morrissey was retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after 33 years of service, member of St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church, St. Samuel's Men's Club, past member of the Lions Club and the Seamen's Hospital. Volunteer on many committees including: Folksong Festival, Irish Festival and the Alzheimer's Society. Besides his wife: Exelda, Morrissey is survived by: two daughters: Kathleen Gaston-Milburn (Roger) of Omemee, ON; Lynn Gaston of Douglastown, NB; one son: Kenneth of Calgary, AB; six sisters: Margaret Hovey, Elizabeth (Betty) Neess (Ove), Sharon Clowater (Merv) all of Doaktown, NB; Shirley Harkness (Bill) of Durham, ON; Eleanor Gilks (Evelock) of Blissfield, NB; Joanne Gaston (Mike) of Fredericton, NB; four brothers: Bill, Edward (Glenna), Wilfred (Jan), Bev (Linda) all of Doaktown, NB; one sister in law: Lona Gaston; two grandchildren: Dallas and Peyton and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by: three brothers: Floyd, Ronnie & Bobby; one brother in law: Willie Hovey; two sister in laws: Roberta & Deanna Gaston. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Monday, September 8, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 2 PM with Father Bill Nugent officiating assisted by: Father Maurice Swift, Father Jacques Landry and Father Annan Bonaventure. Active pallbearers were: Marshall & Billy Gaston, Robert Thebeau, Leo Pineau, Donnie Cormier and Walter MacDonald. Honorary pallbearers were: Ruth & Eldon Barton, John & Georgette Boudreau, JP & Val Desrosiers, Don Fitzsimmons, Paul Bright, Jimmy Harris, Harold Parlee, George Sobey, Ernie Taylor, Leigh Loggie and Benny Goguen. An honor guard was formed by: Moe's many fellow musicians. St. Samuel's Men's Group and the Douglastown Seniors Group attended in body. Organist: Barb Daley accompanied St. Samuel's Church Choir. Special music: "Ava Maria" and "Remember Me, " by: Susan Butler. "Wind Beneath My Wings" by: The Gaston Family (Bev, Wilfred & Eleanor). Burial followed in St. Samuel's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes or to a memorial of one's choice. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. Telephone: (506) 622-3600.

Sister Beatrice (Bea) Jimmo R.H.S.J.

Sister Beatrice Jimmo, R.H.S.J. died peacefully at St. Joseph Regional House in Amherstview, Ontario on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Sister was 92 years of age of which 67 years were spent in Religious Life. Sister Jimmo was born in Lower Escuminac, New Brunswick, the daughter of Matilda Martin and Michael Jimmo. Sister is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Elmer, Wilfred, Hilary, and Alvin, and sisters Viola, Linda, Mildred, Amelia, and Carmel. Sister Jimmo is survived by her sister-in-law, Lillian Jimmo, and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received at St. Joseph Regional House, 16 Manitou Crescent E., Amherstview, ON on Thursday, September 11, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Chapel, St. Joseph Regional House on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Rite of Committal with prayers in St. Mary's Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Patricia F. Kingston
1931-2008

Patricia Florida Kingston, wife of Gordon Kingston, of Howard McLean Street, Miramichi, passed away at her residence on Sunday morning, September 7, 2008, at the age of 77. Born in Baie Ste Anne, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Melinda (Martin) Sippley. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; one daughter, Peggy Walsh (Roy), of Miramichi; one daughter in law, Doris Kingston, of Miramichi; five grandchildren; two great grand children; two sisters, Lorenza Martin (Leonce), of St. Louis de Kent and Lola MacDonald, of Moncton; two brothers, Antoine Sippley and Alderic Sippley, both of Baie Ste Anne; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, James Kingston, in 2008; one brother, Edwin Sippley; two infant siblings, Mona and Aubain Sippley. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday. The funeral service was held from Adams Funeral Home chapel, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. The music for the service was supplied by William Sweezey and the hymns were "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". The Scripture reading was offered by Mrs. Elizabeth Desaulniers. The honorary pallbearers were Alderic Sippley, Mike Hannah, Joan Hannah, Dennis Desaulniers, Jim McGarrigle, Ronnie McInnis, Antoine Sippley. The active pallbearers were Shawn Walsh, Nathan Walsh, Scott Walsh, Brandon Walsh, Wayne Richard, Jamie Arsenault. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492 or messages of condolence may be sent online to www.adamsfh.ca

Minnie C. Godfrey
1918-2008

Minnie Cavell Godfrey, widow of the late Austin D. Godfrey, of the North Black River Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday, September 7, 2008, at the age of 89. Born in Bayside, she was the daughter of the late William and Phoebe (Dutcher) Taylor. She was a homemaker; a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge; a founding member of the Black River Senior Citizens Club; a former member of the Black River Ladies Aid; a member of the Victoria Knitting Club; a former Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Seaman (Paul), and Alberta Barry, all of Miramichi; three sons, William Godfrey (Elizabeth), of Moncton, Albert Godfrey (Bonnie), of Napan and Edgar Godfrey (Diane), of North Black River Road; one sister in law, Frances Taylor; eight grandchildren, Keith, Jason, Jeremy Godfrey, Kyla Vermette, Aimee Barry, Crystal and Melanie Godfrey; four great grandchildren, Laura & Tyler Godfrey and Rebecca and Austin Seaman; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin, in 1994; one sister, Gena Fraser; one brother, Arthur Taylor; one infant brother, Robert Talyor; one special nephew, Ellsworth Godfrey. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday. The funeral service was held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at 4 pm, conducted by Rev. David Cleveland. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. June Ross. The hymns were "Sweet Hour Of Prayer", "Here I Am Lord", "Shall We Gather At the River". The choir anthem was "Softly & Tenderly" and the recessional hymn was "Amazing Grace". Family memories, including a special poem, entitled "Grandmother's Apron", was offered by grand daughter, Kyla Vermette. The honorar pallbearers were members of the Black River Senior Citizens Club. The active pallbearers were Keith, Jason, Jermey Godfrey, Dwain Seaman, Paul Vermette, Earl Lloyd. Interment was in the Black River Community Cemetery. Alan Sgt. (Ret) CD Bemrose

The passing of Alan Bemrose Sgt. (Ret) CD of Miramichi, NB and formerly of Burtt's Corner, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton on Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Born October 30, 1929 at Prince William, NB, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hilda (Jefferson) Bemrose. Alan served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1952-1976 with the Military Police. He served in Japan, Korea, Cyprus, Winnipeg and Regina returning to New Brunswick in 1974 residing in Burtt's Corner for many years relocating to the Miramichi 3 years ago. He finished his military service at Camp Gagetown, NB. Following his retirement from the military he worked as a Security Guard. Alan was a member of the Family Worship Center, Miramichi, NB. Alan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorna C. (Dow) Bemrose; four children, Bonnie Goodman (Randy) of Regina, Sask., Steven Bemrose (Rose) of Winnipeg, Man., Valerie Gulliver (Larry) of Rusagonis, NB and David Bemrose (Linda) of Regina, Sask.; 8 grandchildren, Paul, Amy, Alisha, Patrick, Lance, Madeline, Emma and Sam; 7 great grandchildren; 2 very special chosen granddaughters, Mellisa Patterson and Shima Barrett; also survived by 2 sisters, Iris Neales of Ottawa and Connie Makrides of Fredericton; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; a sister Doris Webster; brothers Ken, Frank, Dave and Ron and a very special granddaughter Shawna Porteous. Alan's request for no visitation will be respected, however, relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral service that will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Theo Craig will officiate. Interment will be in the Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. WELTON, DONALD BRUCE

WELTON, DONALD BRUCE - of Mt. Pisgah, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 9, 2007 at the age of 77. Born in Hatfields Point on May 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Arthur and Florence Welton and loving foster son of the late Dykeman and Annie (Cutler) Henderson. Donald is survived by his wife, Leta; his son, Larry and his wife Maxine of Apohaqui; two daughters, Bernice Welton of Sussex and Donna Welton of Saint John; his brother, Murray and his wife Geneva of Cumberland Bay; his sister-in-law, Madeline Fowler of Lower Kars; six grandchildren, Andrew Welton and his wife Jennifer of Saint John, John Welton and his wife Heather of Fox Hill, Donald (DJ) Welton and his wife Megan of PEI, Kelly Cooper and her husband Rick of Edmonton, Nancy Fairweather and Lisa Beck both of Sussex; Five great grandchildren, Skylar and Graycen Welton of Fox Hill, Mya Beth and Maleah Welton of PEI and Lily Cooper of Edmonton; foster children, Larry, Ronnie, Anthony and his wife Marlene Marr, Mary Marr and Alice Roshinsky and her husband Keith of Kelowna BC; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Fowler. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Calvary Pentecostal Church on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 11:30 am. The interment will take place at Cumberland Bay Cemetery.

MacCONNELL, ALICE CONSTANCE

MacCONNELL, ALICE CONSTANCE - Alice Constance MacConnell 88, of Cornhill, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, October 8, 2007. Born in Camperdown, NS. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Laura (Zwicker) Wamboldt. Alice was a member of Cornhill United Baptist Church. Alice will be sadly missed by her daughters, Nancy Bourque, with whom she resided, Sharon Kearns (Pat), Shediac Cape, Pamela Tibbetts (Terry), Saint John; sons, Stephen (Jeanne), Moncton, David, Saint John; grandchildren, Keith, Laura, Katelynn, Camden; sister, Norma Slauenwhite, Bridgewater, NS; brother, Ivan Wamboldt (Helen), Bridgewater, NS; several Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Keith on October 11, 1982; son-in-law, Wilfred Bourque and sister Ruth Faulkenham. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. In Alice's memory donations to the Cornhill United Baptist Church Building fund or the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. BECK, LOIS L.- The death of Lois Lorraine (Hamilton) Beck of 55 Magazine Street, Saint John, loving wife of Mayes F. Beck, occurred peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Leaman) Hamilton. Besides her loving husband of 52 years, she is survived by daughters, Wanda Beck (Pete), Cathy Watters, Nora Christiansen (Rob) and Michelle Gerrior (Scott); sons, Stephen Beck (Phyllis) and Welsley Beck (Tipper); sisters, Elinor Breau (John) and Carol Campbell; brother, Murray Hamilton (June); grandchildren, Jamie, Chrissy, Shelly, Jeffery, Leslie, Jenny, Melissa, Todd, Adam, Katie and Crystal; great grandchildren, Jaime-Lee, Brooke and Ty; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Darrell "the Duke" and two sisters, Dorothy and Muriel. By request there will be no visitation. Following cremation a graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
