Brewing of Saint John, Ronald Kirk of Saint John, New Brunswick, many great nieces and nephews as well as several great great nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Bessie Mae Kirk in 1992, and by her brothers Fred Brewing in 1965 and Garfield Brewing in 1922,
We read in the 3rd Chapter of Genesis “God walked in the garden in the evening.” What joy God must have found in Aunt Margaret’s garden; a peaceful and beautiful place filled with glorious colours, rich textures and earthy scents with nature’s drama played out in buzzing bees and flitting birds seeding and pollinating a new season of life.
The seasons of Aunt Margaret’s life were gardens of bright laughter and delight and calm and restful peace. In her life garden she planted the seeds of the spirit daily: hope, encouragement, example, good humour, patience, friendship, truth, trust, courage, gentleness, beauty and of course love in the lives of those she knew and encountered. Everyone who knew her loved and respected her. Her loving example was expressed through generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness. She was strong and capable, independent, wise and supportive.
Her family and friends found welcome and contentment in her home, her garden and her smile. Tea and cookies or doughnuts were served and laughter and conversation shared. Her home, family and friends were her life-long commitment, which she cultivated and tended faithfully. She enjoyed the simple pleasures found in daily living – Aunt Margaret loved all flowers therefore she loved all of us with our different and similar gifts. She lived life to its fullest each and every day accepting both the arid soil of struggle and the verdant soil of happy times. Her life was lived in gratitude and in her own special way. Aunt Margaret is now at play in the fields and gardens of the Lord and heaven has never been lovelier.
