Perley Marshall
1933-2017
Perley E. Marshall, 83, of Elgin passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Sussex Health Centre.
Born on Gowland Mountain, he was the son of the late Blake and Wilda (Harrison) Marshall. He was a retired farmer and sugar bush operator. Perley was a member of the Third Elgin Baptist Church (Hillside United Baptist Church), and an active member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He is survived by his wife Elsie (Steeves); step-son Peter Voutour (Rhonda), Colpitts Settlement; sister Alma Steeves, Elgin; brother Otto, Elgin; sisters-in-law Judy Marshall, Salisbury and Susan Coleman (John), Elgin and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Edna Lewis and brothers James, Arthur, Guy, Cecil and Harry.
Thanks to family, friends and special neighbours who helped in every way possible. Thank you to Dr. Allaby and nurses of Sussex Health Centre. Your kindness was special.
Resting at Armstrong's Funeral Chapel, 33 Russell Street (756-3361) visiting will be Thursday, January 12 from 12 noon until time of funeral at 1 pm with Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

Kevin Tomilson
1957-2012
Kevin Leigh Tomilson, 55, of Havelock, passed away at his residence Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Born in Woodstock, he was the son of the late Leigh and Pauline (Donnelly) Tomilson. Kevin worked as an LPN at Jordan Life Care Centre for twenty-five years. He loved cooking, cross-stitch, going to auctions, refinishing antiques and was quite a prankster.
He is survived and missed by his wife Joanne (Pratt); son Dain (Erin Dunfield) of Penobsquis; cherished granddaughter Savannah; sisters Betty Prosser (Stanley) of Centerville, Carol Cronkhite (Ronnie) of Nackawic and Linda Steeves (George) of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his birth parents Harold Parson and Joan Clark; sister Penny Morrissette and brother Timothy Cosman.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday, January 4 from 1 p.m. until the service at 3 p.m. with Rev. Chris Hayes officiating. Interment at Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.

Robert (Bob) MacKillop
1962-2012
Robert (Bob) Edward MacKillop, 50, of Petitcodiac passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital August 26, 2012 with his family at his side. Born in Moncton he was raised and lived in Petitcodiac and was a graduate of the Petitcodiac Regional School. An Industrial Mechanic, he was a longtime employee of P.C.S. based at Cassidy Lake. He was an active volunteer with the local minor hockey association having been a coach, referee and a dedicated parent. An avid fisherman, Bob loved to find that great new place to catch "the big one"with his sons and more recently his beloved grandson. Bob was also a founding member of a local favourite band "Lost Connections" with whom he played guitar with enthusiasm.
Survived and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 31 years and best friend Karen (Case); his sons whom he was so proud of, Michael (Maggie MacKay) of Salisbury, David (Jennifer), Scott and Patrick (Jessica Lewis) all of Petitcodiac; his adored grandchildren Kyle and Olivia; his parents Audrey MacKillop of Petitcodiac and George MacKillop of Portage Vale; his sisters Lisa Daub (Ken) of Ontario, Lori Kelly (Jean Guy Chevarie) of Memramcook, his mother in law Betty Case, sisters in law, Linda Carey (Vaughn), Susan Haldane (Les); brother in law Kevin Case (Wanda) and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday, August 27, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 28, 6-9 p.m. and from where the service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, August 29 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac.

Burlin (Joe) Mesheau
1921-2012
Burlin (Joe) Mesheau, 90, of Salisbury passed away peacefully on May 26, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Scotch Settlement on October 4, 1921 he was a son of the late Archibald and Viola (McConnell) Mesheau. Burlin retired from CN in 1972 with 32 years service. He also operated the Salmon Pool Cabins and Restaurant and Woodland Cabins for several years. Together with his late wife Alta, they enjoyed camping with their trailer and were able to spend many enjoyable winters in Florida after retirement.When his health permitted he loved to work in his garage; and his vehicles were well known throughout Salisbury as he was always driving around to see what was going on in the community. He was a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church.
Survived and sadly missed by his daughter Carol Wortman (Lawrence); son Terrance (Sandra); grandchildren Luke Wortman (Julee), Jill Wortman-Piercey (Gary), Clay Wortman (Natalie), Stacey Gallant (Danny), Colin Mesheau (Robbie), Leigh Anne Harris (Dave); thirteen great grandchildren and a sister Ivy Tingley. Also survived by sisters in law Myra Seely (Ernest), Olive Taylor, Alma Mesheau (Floyd), Marjorie Henry; several nieces and nephews and his caregiver Doris MacCallum. Besides his parents and an infant brother he was predeceased by his wife Alta (Henry), May 25, 2011; brothers in law James Tingley, Beryl Taylor, Dean Henry Jr. and a sister in law Vivian Taylor.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Tuesday, May 29 from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. A reception will follow and interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Ray Gillis
1947-2012
Raymond (Ray) Everett Gillis, 65, of Salisbury passed away at home Tuesday, May 22, 2012 .
Born in Middleton N.S. he was a son of the late Cecil and Eliza (Young) Gillis. Ray was a truck salesman for over 45 years presently with East Coast International in Moncton. Devoted to his church, St. John's Anglican in Salisbury, he was serving as Church Warden for the Parish of Salisbury-Havelock. He was a board member for many years on the Salisbury Rec. Council and coached minor softball and was named coach of the year in 1999. He achieved his Level 5 Certificate in Provincial coaching and was a past president of the Petitcodiac-Salisbury Minor Hockey Association having coached two generations of kids. He served as an assistant coach for a year with the Moncton AAA Midget Flyers. He was involved with the Progressive Conservative Party at the Provincial and Federal level for many years.
Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he put family above all else and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of over 41 years Wanda; their sons Kris (Tina) of Moncton, Ryan (Amelie) of N.T.; daughters in law Alana O'Neil and Wendy Pitre; cherished grandchildren Ashley, Justin, Hayden, Sydney, Reed and Amanda; brothers Edwin (Peggy) of Bridgetown N.S., Jim (Ann) of Colorado; sisters Claire Hanvill of Yarmouth and Beryl Hannam (Earl) of Bridgetown N.S.; mother in law June Jeffrey of Salisbury; brother in law Wayne Jeffrey (Gail) of London On. and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Erle.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Friday May 25, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steven Brown officiating. Interment at the Bridgetown Cemetery.

John Booth
1930-2012
John Kenneth Booth, 82, of Steeves Mountain passed away at the Moncton Hospital, Thursday, April 19, 2012.
Born in Cobourg, ON, he was a son of the late Maurice and Margaret (Quebec) Booth. John was a graduate of Cobourg High School and Royal Roads Military College. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot, Ret. Capt., was a past president of the Canadian Business Aircraft Association, a member of Moncton Probus Club and he retired as a corporate pilot. In retirement he enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, woodworking, reading, spending time with his family, helping friends and continued to keep abreast in his passion for flying.
John is survived and missed by his beloved wife of 52 years Valerie (Houghton); children Darren (Ann) of Wolfville, NS, Lisa Pond (Don) of Steeves Mountain, Derek (Shauntha) and Kevin (Monique) of Berry Mills; cherished grandchildren, Wesley, Daniel, Jaxon, Ethan and Jasmine; sister Helen Marshall of Kingston, ON and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by sisters Jean Nesbitt, Evelyn Boyce and brothers Donald and Ross Booth.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Sunday, April 22 at 2:30 p.m. with a reception to follow.

Daisy Lewis
1911-2012
Lewis, Daisy: In her hundredth year, Daisy Belle Lewis of the Jordan LifeCare Center and formerly Salisbury passed away peacefully March 30, 2012 at the home. Born in Second North River she was a daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Lewis) Beckwith. In her earlier working life together with her late husband Stewart they operated a store and restaurant in Salisbury. Daisy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbour who loved nothing more than to be a hostess to a house full of young people. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, knitting and her flower beds and birds gave her great enjoyment. She was a member of the Salisbury United Church and had been an active volunteer with the Home and School Association, Canadian Cancer Society and the former Women's Institute.
Survived and sadly missed by her daughter Mary Lee Lewis of Dartmouth; grandchildren Cindy Douthwright (Rodney) of Monteagle, Kim Maxwell (Chris) and Shonda Dempsey of Moncton; great grandchildren Brandon, Erika, Niki and Max and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Stewart; son Michael and brother Roy Beckwith.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday 7-9 p.m. The Funeral will be Tuesday April 3 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dan Compton officiating. Interment in the Monteagle Cemetery.
