Kevin Haevens
1968-2013

Kevin Wayne Haevens, 44, of Saint John, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born in Moncton and raised in Havelock, he was a graduate of Petitcodiac Regional High School in 1986. Kevin was a former employee of Rayan Investments and was currently employed in the Automotive Detailing Industry. He enjoyed sports, playing cribbage, camping, watching movies and he loved to talk to people.
Kevin is survived and missed by his mother Caroline Taylor (Greg) of Hunters Home, and father Bill Haevens (Marie) of Petitcodiac; cherished daughter Bryanna of Mississauga, ON; step-daughters Katelyn Craft (Adam) and Cheyenne Graham (Mikail) both of Saint John; grandchildren Kane and Justice of Saint John; brother Stacy (Mona) of Petitcodiac; nieces Rose Marie Hargrove and Sarah Haevens; maternal grandmother June Cruickshank of New Canaan; paternal grandmother Dorothy Crandall at Jordan Life Care Center and grampie Adam Steeves of Fawcett Hill. Also survived by the mother of his daughter Tonya Haevens; mother-in-law Evelyn Stevens and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his grandfather John Cruickshank.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) where the family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, January 26 from 2 - 5 p.m. There will be a private family service. Interment at New Canaan Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to a Living Memorial for Bryanna's Education Fund would be appreciated by the family.

Ruby Lewis
1924-2013

Ruby Pearl Lewis, 88, of Forest Hill, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital with her husband by her side.
Born in Meadow, she was a daughter of the late Trunhum and Janie (Bannister) Steeves. Ruby was a homemaker and a member of the First Elgin Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Elgin Women's Institute., an avid bingo player and enjoyed a friendly game of cards.
Ruby is survived and missed by her husband of 36 years Darrell; children Barbara L. Febel (Peter) of Birks Falls, ON, Maxine P. Zazinsky (Borden) of Mississauga, ON, Carol A. Snow (Derek) of Oakville, ON, and Eugene Charlton (Lana) of Elgin; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Alberta Marr (Hilyard) of Lutes Mtn; brothers Everett Steeves (Anna) of Meadow and Clinton Steeves (Emily) of Petitcodiac; brother-in-law Bill Henry of Monteagle and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Wayne Charlton; grandsons Bradley and Steven Charlton; sisters Mona Steeves and Elizabeth Henry and brothers Clarence and Roy Steeves.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) where family visitation will be Sunday, February 17 from 2 - 4 p.m. The funeral, for relatives and friends, will be held from the funeral home chapel Tuesday, February 19 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Delbert Bannister officiating. Interment at New Elgin Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, donations to the NB Red Cross Society or the New Elgin Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.

Chad Thorne
1988-2013

It is with great sadness we announce that Chad Marshall Thorne, 24, of Havelock, passed away accidentally, Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Salisbury.
Born in Moncton, he was a son of Robin and Amy (Lounsbury) Thorne. Chad worked at Sykes as a customer service agent for Bell Aliant. He was a graduate of Petitcodiac Regional School and Compu College in Moncton and he also enjoyed volunteering at the Havelock Boys & Girls Club.
Chad is survived and sadly missed by his parents Robin and Amy Thorne of Havelock; his beloved wife Heidi Lynn (McFarlane); his cherished children Rowan Brady Marshall and Landon James; brothers and sister Devin (Alicen), Chelsea Hatt (Scott) both of Havelock and Cody (Jessica O'Donnell) of Penobsquis; nieces and nephews Alexis, Lauren, Gavin, Aislynn, Bryson, Riley, Payton and Amelia; father and mother-in-law Moe and Patricia McFarlane of Salisbury; sisters-in-law Katie Oulette (Cole Lounsbury) and Ashley McFarlane. Also survived by his maternal grandmother Mary Lounsbury, great grandmother Bea Brown and paternal grandparents Stuart and Jean Thorne and Mary Thorne, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Norval (Jack) Lounsbury.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Tuesday, February 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held in the chapel Wednesday, February 20 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Nick Graham officiating assisted by Pastor Jacob Ebbett.
If desired, donations to a Living Memorial for his children would be appreciated.

Gordon Hutchinson
1935-2013

Gordon Stuart Hutchinson, 77, of Havelock passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Lower Ridge, he was a son of the late Rev. Stafford and Lottie (Alward) Hutchinson. Gordon retired as a truck driver having hauled for Cement Cartage for 36 years, a job he loved everyday especially chatting with his friends on the CB as Cannonball. He was a member of the Havelock Wesleyan Church, a Sunday School teacher and helped for many years with the Keith Family Reunions and also with the hall suppers. In later years he enjoyed researching his family genealogy and finding and befriending new relatives throughout the world.
He is survived and missed by his beloved wife Sandra (Hodder); children Joann Thompson (Jim), Jack, George (Lynn), David (Norma) and Gail Maxwell (Arthur); step children Sheila Moss (Terry), Charlie and Sandy (Angela); brother Larry (Anna); grandchildren Shane, Scott, Joey, Jesse, Jillian, Shelby, Niki, Zack, Kristy and Thomas; three great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Predeceased by first wife Alma (Carson) and infant son.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday, February 18 from 6 - 9 p.m. The funeral will be held from the Havelock Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, February 19 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jacob Ebbett officiating. Interment at the Havelock Wesleyan Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, donations to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Havelock Wesleyan Church or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Olive McFarlane
1929-2012

Olive Elizabeth McFarlane, 83, of Jordan Life Care Centre and formerly of Kinnear Settlement, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Turtle Creek she was a daughter of the late John and Louise (Carson) Geldart. Olive was a homemaker, an honorary member of the Havelock Legion #86 and also an avid bingo and cribbage player.
She is survived and missed by her children Eleanor Greer (Hollie) of Amherstburg, ON, Ken (Darlene) of Petitcodiac, Wayne (Lynn) of Harrow, ON, William (Cathy) of Riverview, Robert (Eleanor) of Petitcodiac, James of Sussex, Ross (Paula) of New Canaan, Moses (Patricia) of Salisbury; sisters Laura Russell of Salisbury and Rosie Burgess (Vincent) of Lewis Mountain; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband William; sons Douglas and infant Allison; daughter Shirley; grandson Christopher; granddaughter Jean Alice; brothers Lloyd, Frank and Clarence and sisters Ruby Proctor and Emma Hopper.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) visiting will be Wednesday, August 22 from 6 - 9 p.m. with the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 86, Havelock conducting a memorial service at 6 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, August 23 at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Pastor Vincent Burgess officiating. Interment at Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis.
If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Olga M. Burgess
1930-2011

Burgess, Olga M. 1930-2011 - Olga Marion Burgess, Peoples Park Tower, and formerly Boundary Creek, passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2011, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Charlottetown PE, May 24th, 1930, Olga was the daughter of the late Peter and Margaret (Beairsto) Proud. In her early working years, Olga was an employee of the Royal Bank and Carvell Bros. Wholesale, both in Charlottetown. She was a member of the Steeves Memorial United Church and a past member of the choir. She was also a past member of the U.C.W., Beaver Curling Club, Allison Women's Institute, and the Probus Club. She and her late husband, Ralph, (2008) enjoyed travelling to many places including South America, Egypt, Greece, and Alaska. They were also well known for their lobster boils and ice-cream making parties.
Survived by her sister Christine Sander (John) of Calgary, brother George Proud (Ann) of Charlottetown; step-children Lloyd Burgess (Maureen) of Cairns, Australia, Allison Burgess (Marilyn) of Allison, Margaret Keene (Tony) of Toronto; seven step-grandchildren and fourteen step-great grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Tuesday, December 13th, 7 - 9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14th at 1:30 pm. Interment at the Wheaton Settlement Cemetery. If desired, memorials can be made to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.

Richard Surrett
1945-2012

Richard Basil Terrance Surrett, 66, of Petitcodiac, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Petitcodiac, he was a son of the late Guy A. and Dorothy (Mann) Surrett. Richard was an accountant operating his own business Surrett Accounting Services. He was a former member of the Petitcodiac Kiwanis Club and the Petitcodiac Men's and Mixed Bowling Leagues. Richard was also a member of CFIB and the 200 Club. He was the secretary - treasurer of Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac.
He is survived and sadly missed by his wife Claudette (Poirier); sons Derek (Monique) of Fredericton, Wesley (Kate) of Baddeck, NS, Alexander (Christa) of Ottawa, ON and Benjamin (Josie) of Riverview; 9 grandchildren; sisters Florence Davis (Harold) of Brockville, ON and Judy Davis (Douglas) of Moncton; brothers Verne (Barbara) of Petawawa, ON, Harvey (Carol) of Petitcodiac and James (Edna) of Petitcodiac; stepchildren John Dryden and Paula Gourley both of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Linda (Leaman) and brother Reid.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Friday at 1 pm with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials, if desired, to Maplewood Cemetery or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
