Jean Alward
1926-2013
Jean Elizabeth Alward, 86, a lifelong resident of Havelock passed away Monday February 18, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Havelock she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon and Addie (Alward) Keith. In her early working years Jean worked at the Post Office in Havelock and then for the Bank of Nova Scotia where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Havelock Baptist Church and the Gloria Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Survived and sadly missed by her beloved husband of 65 years Delbert; her daughter Delberta Flood (John) of Fredericton and their children Elizabeth of Fredericton and Ellen of Toronto; her son Nelson (Monica) of Saint John and their children Ryan of Fredericton and Sarah of Red Deer A.B.; her sister Zena Colwell (Fred) of Moncton; brother Norman Keith (Joan) of Hampton; sister in law Norma Keith of Saint John and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers George and Harold Keith.
At Jean's request, a private family funeral will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel (372-4800) with Pastor Jarvis Lepper officiating. Interment at a later date will be at Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock.
If desired, memorials to the Havelock Baptist Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Eva Leslie Clark
2012-2012
Sweet little angel, Eva Leslie Clark was born into heaven Friday, February 17, 2012. She was the beloved daughter of Douglas and Kimberly (Pickett) Clark. Survived also by maternal grandparents Ian and Elsie Smith of Wheaton Settlement and Bill Pickett (Mary) of Moncton; paternal grandparent Winston Lester (Dolly) of Sussex Corner; great grandparents Aubrey and Joan Edgar of Wheaton Settlement, Harold and Lynn Smith of Ont, George Pickett of Cornhill and Gladys Pickett of Lakeview Manor Riverview several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The service will be held from Salisbury Funeral Home 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800), Thursday, February 23 at 11 am with Pastor Lloyd O'Blenes officiating. Interment at Wheaton Settlement Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials, if desired, to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Neonatal Unit would be appreciated by the family.
Helen Taylor
1920-2012
Helen Marguerite Taylor, 92, of Caledonia Place, Hillsborough and formerly of Second North River, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Cherry Sharpe and stepmother Helen. Helen worked at the T. Eaton Company in her early working years. She was an active and devoted member of the Second North River Baptist Church. Helen was a member of the WMS, the church choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She also belonged to the Second North River W.I. Helen enjoyed bowling in the senior league, gardening, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived and missed by her children Cheryl Coates (Ralph) of Moncton and Pastor Gary (Sheila) of Hillsborough; grandchildren Sheri Coates, Shelley Comeau (Mike), Heather Coates (Jaime McMullin), Jennifer Coates (Trevor Pickard), Keri Lewis (Robin), Krista Taylor (John Sherwood), Kimberly Lewis (Jean Marc) and Kenny Taylor; 15 great granchildren; sister Avora Daniels (Paul) of St. Catherine's, ON; sisters in law Margaret (late Warren McInerney) and Vivian (late Lawrence McInerney) both of St. Catherine's, ON; brother in law Raymond Steeves of Elgin and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Curtis and sister Nelda Steeves.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Route 106 (372-4800) with visiting Wednesday, April 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral will be held at Second North River Baptist Church Thursday, April 12 at 3 pm with Pastor Tim Friesen officiating. Interment at Monteagle Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorials to the Second North River Church Building Fund, Friends of the Moncton Hospital or charity of choice would be apprecitated by the family.
Willi Mertins
1933-2012
Willi Otto Frederick Mertins, 78, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital.
Willi was born in Germany in 1933 and immigrated to Canada as a young man where he joined the Royal Canadian Army. He worked in construction and was co-owner of Koster waterproofing systems upon his return to Europe. Willi had a passion for gardening.
He is survived by his son Stephen (Trisha) of Fall River, NS; daughter Karen (Dale) McDougall of Sackville, NB; sister in law Loudie Mertins of France; grandchildren Matthew (Megan) Mertins, Geoff (Samantha) Mertins, Brian Mertins and Scott, Marc and Liam McDougall and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Twila Perry for her care and companionship. Predeceased by brother Charlie and sister Albertina.
There is no visitation by request. Memory sharing and a Celebration of Willi's Life will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home & Crematorium, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Thursday, April 26 from 1-3 pm.

Myrna G. Steeves
1939-2017
Myrna Gail Steeves, 78, of Salisbury passed away Saturday February 11, 2017 at the Dr. G.L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Fergus ON., she was a daughter of the late W. Ernest and Wilma (McLean) Plant. Myrna worked along with her late husband Douglas in their home heating business and was a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church and a Lifetime member of the former Salisbury Lioness Club.
Survived and sadly missed by her children; Kelly Donnelly (Todd) of Salisbury, Kathy Donnelly (Scott) and Kevin (Melinda) of Moncton and Kent (Diane) of Upper Coverdale; grandchildren William, Victoria, Lindsay, Scott, Kaitlyn, Amanda and Matthew; step grandchildren Adam, Lyndsay and Nathan and many great grandchildren. Survived also by a brother Robert Plant (Yvonne) of Blind River ON., a close sister and brother in law Betty and Robert Prosser of Salisbury, sister in law Faye Onuluk (Stephen) and brother in law Roger Steeves (Judy) and by several nieces and nephews including a special niece Sharon and her canine companion Murphy. Predeceased by her husband of 44 years Douglas and sister in law Ruby Plant.

Caleb Dunn
1927-2012
Caleb Sprague Dunn, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 surrounded by his family at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Prosser Brook, he was a son of the late Frank and Ida (Geldart) Dunn. Caleb was in the mobile trailer sales industry since 1955 as a former Co-Owner of Maritime Auto and Trailer Sales and a former owner of CRC RV Center. He was a pioneer member of the Citation and Corsair Trailer Clubs of Canada and a past president of the Moncton Mobile Homes Association. A lifelong fan of stock car racing he was a driver for over 30 years winning over 200 races on tracks in the Maritimes and eastern U.S.. He was inducted into the Moncton Wall of Fame in 2001 and the Maritime Motor Sports Hall of Fame in 2006. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and enjoyed many winters in Florida.
Caleb is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Elodie (Lewis); children Janet Leaman of Salisbury, James (Jim) (Diane) of Second North River, Brenda Conners (Walter) of Monteagle, Deborah Milburn (Dave) of Sydney, BC and Patrick Conners-Dunn of Salisbury; grandchildren Shawn Conners, Angela Lum, Shelley MacDonald and Brandy Dunn; 11 great grandchildren; sisters Lillian Stewart of Moncton and Lena Cormier of Augusta, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by son Myron; grandson Andrew Leaman; brother Leslie and sister Minnie Chase.
Resting at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Wednesday, May 30, 2-4 and 7-9 pm and from where the funeral will be held Thursday, May 31 at 11 am in the chapel with Rev. Rob Nickerson officiating. Interment to follow at Fair Haven Cemetery.

Marilyn Colpitts
1943-2016
Marilyn Faye Colpitts, 72, of River Glade passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Alden and Katherine (Mollins) Colpitts. Marilyn was a secretary for the Potash Corporation in Sussex, and a member of the Salisbury Baptist Church. She loved spending time at the cottage, enjoyed being with family and friends and also looked forward to her alone time.
She is survived and sadly missed by her husband George Lutes; sisters Connie Fawcett (Vernon), Ontario, Myrna Lewis (Arnold), Colpitts Settlement, Brenda Colpitts, BC and Ruth Colpitts (Fred Wheaton), Moncton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Ronald and Vaughan Colpitts.
There is no visitation by personal request. The service will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) Tuesday, September 27 at 1 pm with Rev. Tim MacKinnon officiating. Interment at River Glade Cemetery.
