Roger Maillet
1949 - 2019
Roger Maillet, 69, of Dieppe, passed away on Thursday, April 11th, 2019 at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Dieppe, NB, he was the son of the late Hilaire and the late Madeleine (née: Maillet) Maillet.
Prior to retirement, Roger worked for public works with the City of Dieppe.
He is survived by one sister, Linda; one brother, Jean-Guy; one sister-in-law, Marguerite; one brother-in-law, Donald; one niece, Lisa and also by one nephew, Adam.
He was predeceased by one sister, Rose-Marie and also by four brothers: Leopold, Gerard, Raymond and Normand.
No visitation prior to service.
Funeral service will be celebrated from the Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 at 10 am, with Pastor Kinnear Penman officiating.
Hilda Horsman
July 31, 1922 - April 15, 2019
With hearts of love and gratitude for our mother, Hilda Mary (Crandall) Horsman, we released her in her 97th year into the loving care of Her Saviour and Heavenly Father on April 15, 2019.
Hilda was a resident of People's Park Tower and passed away peacefully within the comforts of her home.
Born in Shaw Brook on July 31, 1922, Hilda was the daughter of the late William and Ada (Dryden) Crandall.
She became the loving wife of H. Russell Horsman, and they had 59 years together.
Hilda was a current member of the Sunny Brae Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Society, a past member of the Trustee Board, Visitation Committee, and the Pastoral Search Committee.
She was a volunteer with the Christian Food Bank, a Christian Women’s Club speaker, and a Stonecroft Bible Study leader.
Hilda served in Pioneer Clubs and on the Pioneer National Board.
She was a quilter, knitter, an avid reader, enjoyed word puzzles, time spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Russell; infant son, Wayne; sisters, Helen, Hazel, and Helena; half-sisters, Bertha, Ella, Mina and Hattie; brothers, Hardy, Herman, infant twin brothers, Howard and Henry, and half-brother, Ralph; daughter-in-law, Joanne Horsman and step grandson, David Carter.
Left with many precious memories are Hilda’s sons, Gordon (Marianne), Kenn and Jerry (Allana) Horsman; her daughters, Linda (Paul) Wellwood and Sharon (Vernon) Vickruck.
Hilda’s legacy of love and compassion includes her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Debie (Scott), Aidan and McLean Mealey; Bethany (Paul), Grace, Duncan, and Ruthie Osborne; Jonathan (Renee), Claire, Anja and Henry Horsman; David (Janet), Elijah, Ezekiel, Noah, Phoebe and Ellie Horsman; Vicki (Jason), Emily, Janelle, and Juliana Bettle; Joni (Drew), Eliava, Isaiah, and Carissa Mersereau; Sheri (Matt), Clara and Kaitlyn Taylor; Shawn (Melanie), Gabriella, Judah, Caleb and Micah Horsman; Chris (Alanna), Abigail and Clara Wellwood; Melody (Paul), Trey and Ty Davis; Rebekah (Stephen), Kalia, Lilyana, Laney and Russell Page; Rachael Wellwood; Andrew (Jenn), Lauren and Leah Vickruck; Matthew (Jillian), and Anita Vickruck; Michael (Ashley) Vickruck; step-grandchildren: Elisabeth (Michael) French; Stephen (Cheryl), Anna and Sophie Carter.
Hilda’s family express sincere appreciation to the Personal Support Workers of Peoples Park Tower and the Driscoll Extra Mural team for going above and beyond in the care of our mother.
Visitation will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, April 17 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
A fragrance-free service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Colin Cook leading the service.
Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Berry Mills, later in the spring.
Memorial donations would be gratefully received by: Friends of The Moncton Hospital (Burn Unit), Sunny Brae Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Family flowers only, please.
Ranald "Snooks" MacDonald
June 13, 1936 - March 12, 2019
Ranald "Snooks" MacDonald, 82, of Germantown, passed away unexpectedly on March 12th, 2019 at his residence.
He was born in Riverside, on June 13,1936, the son of the late Ranald and Lulu (Alexander) MacDonald.
He was owner/operator of MacDonald Forestry Products, owned his owned sawmill, later went lobster fishing, built and sold wire lobster traps, built a fibreglass boat, harvested blueberries, enjoyed making maple syrup, spending his summers eating seafood chowder and sharing stories with his friends.
He raised five sons and his most memorable winter was when the mill was on strike and he was able to spend the winter driving the boys to hockey.
He will be deeply missed by his son, Rodney MacDonald (Catherine) of Alma; grandchildren, Joseph (Chelsea), Justin (Brittney), Elizabeth (Tom), all of Alma, Lindsay (Jason) of Massachusetts, Ryan of Caledonia Mountain, Travis of Dieppe, Kelsey (Mitchell) of Weldon; his nine great-grandchildren; sister, Janice McKinley (Earl); brothers, Allan MacDonald (Sheila) and Allister MacDonald (Lorraine); sister-in-law, Sandra MacDonald.
He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and long-time friends.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by four of his sons, Angus, Brent, Donald, and Michael; grandson, Matthew; great-grandson, Matthew; brothers, Donald and Wallace.
Honouring his own wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.

Hélène Leger
Died March 12, 2019
Hélène Leger of Boudreau-Ouest, 61, passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 12th, 2019 at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, Moncton.
Born in Petit-Cap, NB, she was the daughter of the late Léandre and Marie-Louise (Gallant) Leger.
She is survived by her companion, Omer Boudreau; three brothers: Irois (Faith) and Robert (Maria) all of Petit-Cap and Eddie (Joanne) of Shediac; six nieces and nephews: Denis, Natalie, Mathieu, Marc, Chantal and Donna; seven great-nieces and nephews: Dylan, Daryn, Jasmine, Khaleesi, Dominik, Costa and Céline; a special friend, Stella Robichaud, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her fiancé, Oscar; half-sister, Thérèse.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Friday, March 15th, 2019 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9pm and on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 from 9:30 am to 10:15 am.
The funeral will be held at Sainte-Thérèse-D’Avila Church, 2648, chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 10:30 am.
Interment will be in the Saint-Timothée parish cemetery, Shemogue at a later date.
In memory of Hélène, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Murielle Dallaire
1948 - 2019
Murielle Dallaire, 70, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital.
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lorraine (Richard) Poirier.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Marc; one son, Charles (Lisa Pollock) of Hanwell; one step-grandson, Luke; one sister, Suzanne Cormier (Maurice) of Fredericton; two brothers: Michael (Gaelea) of Fredericton, and Peter (Sherrill) of Moncton; one sister-in-law, Pat Poirier of Moncton; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Paul.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 330 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Monday, March 18 at 11 am.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.

Diane Budd
1948 – 2019
Diane Budd, of Dieppe, and formerly of Sunny Brae, NB; passed away at Mazerolle Special Care Home, Dieppe on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
She was born in Sunny Brae, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Bessie M. (Campbell) Underwood.
Honouring Diane's wishes cremation has taken place.
Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in the Underwood Family lot in the spring
She is survived by her brother, John Underwood (the late Joyce) of Ontario; sister, Liz Williams (Ron) of Moncton; daughter, Kathy Surette (Jeff) of Ammon, NB; as well as nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother, Earl Underwood (the late Carol) and a sister, Shirley VanBuskirk (the late Bonar).

Wayne Burlock
Died March 12, 2019
Wayne Clark Burlock, 70, of Ammon, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
Born in Humphreys, he was the son of the late Harry and Nellie (Trites) Burlock.
Wayne was a retired Power Engineer at The Moncton Airport, who also worked several jobs throughout his working career.
He enjoyed Blue Grass Music, playing guitar and spending time with his family.
Wayne will be sadly missed by his wife, Colleen (Bryant) Burlock of Ammon; daughter, Melody Krantz (Mattias) of Sweden; sons, Clarence (Melanie) of Vancouver, BC, and Darren (Dee) of Moncton; grandchildren, Bradley, Samuel, Linnea, Marshall, Avril, Laryssa-Lynn, Tristynn and Tyrese; two great grandchildren, Linnus and Casper. sisters, Lillian Dawson (late Mike) of Mississauga, ON and Gladys Boudreau (Leo) of Moncton; brother, Harry Burlock (Fran) and Gary Burlock (Barb), both of Moncton and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Clarence and Henry and sisters, Elsie and Gloria.

A Service to celebrate and honour Wayne’s life will be held at Ferguson's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 4:00 pm.
Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service.
Interment will be in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

Douglas Sanford
Died March 12, 2019
Doug Sanford, 69 of Riverview, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
Born in Hamilton, ON, he grew up in Dartmouth, NS.
He was the son of the late Chester and Margaret (Carroll) Sanford.
Doug lived and loved his work as an Air Traffic Controller.
After starting his career in the Halifax Tower, he moved to the Moncton Control Center for twenty-nine years.
He spent two years at the Edmonton C.C. prior to becoming an ATC Instructor in Cornwall, ON.
He returned to Moncton where he retired.
Unfortunately, Doug struggled with a disease that he could not win.
Doug enjoyed playing different sports like squash, slow pitch and curling.
He was a former president of the Beaver Curling Club.
He was an avid fan of the Moncton Wildcats, Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.
He enjoyed playing cards, particularly SKIPBO with Bob and Fran and WIZARD with Eugene and Flo.
After retirement, he and Linda enjoyed a few winters in Treasure Island, FL, with family and friends.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda (nee Hogan); sons, Glenn (Rebecca) of Lethbridge, AB, Peter (Sheri MacDonald) of Ottawa, ON, Brent (Karen Nantais) of Vancouver, BC; grandchildren: Kyle, Kayley, Charlotte, Taylor, Maddie and Alex; sister, Linda MacLeod (Roger); brother, Dan (Brenda); step-mother, Marie Sanford; brother-in-law, Brian Hogan; sister-in-law, Kim Sanford; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Aside from his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Bob.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge St. Riverview, NB, on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with The Venerable Brent Ham officiating.
