KENNEDY, George J.N. - Died September 2, 1999, Coburg, Ontario. Born August 1, 1932, Mobile. Son of the late Peter and Mary Kennedy. Leaving to mourn Edward, St. John`s, Bill (Mary), Outer Cove, Joe (Maureen), Scarborough, Catherine (Leo Hanlon), Coburg, with whom he resided during his illness, Helen Feehan, Outer Cove, Margie (Gerry Cole), St. John`s, Bernadette (David Fremantle), Coquitlan, B.C., Fr. Pat, Parish Priest, Kelligrews; also five nieces and twelve nephews and their families. Fondly remembered by Audrey Robinson (Toronto) and close friends in Ontario and this province. Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Michael`s Church, Coburg, Ontario, September 4. A Memorial Liturgy will be held Sunday September 12, 12:30 p.m. at St. Edward`s Church, Longshore Road, Kelligrews for family and friends.

NIGHTINGALE, Una P. (nee Harris) - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Monday, July 30th, 2001. She is survived by Edgar, her devoted husband of 63 years; sons: Robert, wife Bessie, David, wife Sandra; 5 grandchildren: Scott, Steven, Susie, Karen and Ian; 3 step-grandchildren: Kelly, Kent and Krista and their partners; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces Betty Churchill, Bernice Pond, Carol Butters, Doreen Warren; nephew Don Pond; and a circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Visitation Tuesday 7-9 p.m.; Wednesday 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. - 12 noon. SNOW, Arthur J. - It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Arthur J. Snow announce his passing at Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 30, 2001 at the age of 81 years. Arthur J. Snow was a member of Masonic Lodge, Oddfellow Lodge and Memorial United Church, Grand Falls-Windsor. Left with fond and loving memories are wife Jean; sons: David (Alice), Grand Falls-Windsor and Derrick (Dale), Ontario. Also leaving to mourn 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and one brother Wilfred in Maine. Rev. WHERRY, Don - Musician, composer, creative spirit, beloved music teacher, creator and artistic director of the Sound Symposium, Professor of Music at Memorial University of Newfoundland and percussionist with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, friend, and humanitarian, passed suddenly into the arms of God Saturday evening, July 28, 2001, when he collapsed while leading a procession of musicians (his 'Scruncheons') and other performers in the Lantern Festival in Victoria Park, St. John`s. He died shortly afterwards in the hospital. Left to celebrate his love, life, wonder, and music are his wife, best friend and partner Kathryn (nee Hodgson) Clark-Wherry, and their children and grandchildren: daughters - Lynn Wylie and son Sam; Laura Dutheil, her husband Stephan Dutheil and their daughters April and Sarah; Karen (Clark) Morry and her daughters Kirsten, Jeanie and Alicia; sons Mark Wherry and his son Eli; Brendan Wherry; and David Clark, his wife Greta Ellsworth and their children Kate, Caleb and Holly; and extended family: Roy Wylie, his wife Lorna Davie and their children Meghan and Jesse; Cathy Charles Wherry (mother of Eli), and Don`s sister Marilyn MacDonald; dear friends: Glenn and Eileen Clark, and Wayne and Ellie Hynes, Stephanie Porter, Delf Hohmann and countless others. He is also remembered and loved by his colleagues and musical collaborators: the Black Auks: Neil Rosenberg, Craig Squires, Wallace Hammond, Mike Zagorski.
