TETFORD, Mrs. Margaret - Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John`s on Saturday, July 28, 2001, Mrs. Margaret Tetford of Shearstown, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her husband William John, a prominent businessman of the Conception Bay area, and their infant son, sister Susan Fradsham and brother Thomas Deering. In years gone past, Mrs. Tetford had been active in business with her husband and in community activities. She was a founding member of LOBA #959, Daughters of Cromwell, Shearstown and an Honorary Member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Bay Roberts Branch. For some years following her husband`s untimely passing, Mrs. Tetford operated a boarding home that will be fondly remembered by many banking and professional personnel who transferred through Bay Roberts in the course of their careers. In more recent years, Mrs. Tetford was a resource person for her son Bill and his wife Jean in the running of Maple Lodge Nursing Home, Shearstown. Leaving with many warm memories, sons: Bill (Jean) and John (Princess), Shearstown; five grandchildren: Claude, Shearstown, Wilfred (Sandra), Jeff, Toronto, Margaret (Michael) Lush, Reed Deer, Alberta and John (Floriana), Brampton, Ontario; four great-grandchildren: Faith Pottle, William John Tetford, Grace Lush and Nicholas Tetford; sisters: Grace Bennett and Pearl O`Neill, both of St. John`s; and a wide circle of friends. Resting at the Loyal Orange Lodge, Shearstown with visitation from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. - Noon on Tuesday. Funeral Services from St. Mark`s Anglican Church and cemetery , Shearstown on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev`d. Guy Hussey officiating, and arrangements by Moore`s Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations to the Kidney Foundation.

HARAN, Miss Grace M. - Passed peacefully away at her late residence, Clarke`s Beach on Friday, September 10, 1999, of Clarke`s Beach, aged 69 years. Predeceased by her parents Francis & Mary Haran, brother Rene and sister Denise. Leaving to mourn sisters: Jeanne (Edward - deceased) Jarvis of Clarke`s Beach, Irma (Jean Claude) Guilliou of France; sister-in-law Jeanne Haran of St. Pierre; brothers: Jean (Louise) Haran of Dartmouth, Francis Haran of Montreal, George (Margo) Haran of St. Pierre; and a large circle of other relatives and friends, especially her caregivers, niece Cecelia and husband Al Lewis of Clarke`s Beach. Resting at Moore`s Funeral Home, Clarke`s Beach. Visitation Friday 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, September 11, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. from All Hallows R.C. YOUNG, Albert Osmond - passed away suddenly at the James Paton Memorial Hospital on July 27, 2001, Albert Osmond Young, age 92. Predeceased by loving wife Myrtle (Bartlett); brothers Trevor, Lewis, Gerald; and sister Phyllis. Left with loving memories are: sons: Bruce of Alberta, David of Ontario, George (Florence) of St. John`s, Robert (Vera) of Gander, Roy (Regina) of Gander; daughter: Sandra (Bill) Anstey of Gander; sisters: Florence Moore of St. John`s, Olive Murdock of Grand Falls-Windsor; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Donations will be made to Shriner`s Children`s Hospital. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Stacey`s Funeral Home, Gander. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 30 from the United Church. Interment to follow in All Saints cemetery , Gander.

Leaving to mourn his loving wife Yvonne (nee Hudson); daughter Michelle (Howie); son Lamont Crummey (April), all of Gander; grandchildren: Nicholas and Paul; special niece Kristal Crummey; grandchildren-in-law: Laurie, Robyn, Mark and Melissa; special family friend Philomena O`Grady and all the children that loved him as 'Poppy Guy'. Also leaving to mourn his brothers: Maldwyn (Leah) Crummey, Victoria, NL, William (Dorothy), Western Bay, NL, David (Lorraine) Crummey, Lower Island Cove, NL; sisters-in-law: Pearl (Garry) Rose, Mount Pearl, NL, Ruby (Steve), Ajax, ON; brothers-in-law: Embry (Dorothy) Hudson, Adams Cove, NL; Wayne (Verna) Hudson, Mount Pearl; as well as many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Stacey`s Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service to be held at Fraser Road United Church, Monday, August 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at All Saints cemetery , Gander, NL. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Stacey`s Funeral Home. KIELLY, James Patrick - Of Williamsford and formerly of Bay Roberts, NL. passed away on August 5, 2003 in his 86th year. Devoted husband of Wendy (nee Thompson); step-son of Annie Stapleton of St. John`s, NL; dear father of Peter (Gaynor), Stephen (Anne), Martin (Diane), Neil (Margaret), Julia, Joanna, Daniel, Jane (Greg), Timothy (Stacy). He will also be missed by his eight grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, John and Agnes Kielly; his brother John and his sister Patricia. Jim, a veteran of WWII, served with the RAF in Europe, North Africa and Burma. He retired from the airforce in 1962. His love and association with aviation took him to Korea, Singapore, Cyprus and Saudi Arabia until finally retiring to Williamsford, Ontario. Friends will be received at the CURRIE FUNERAL HOME in Chatsworth on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. thence to St. Stanislaus R.C. Church where a funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. A legion memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday evening at 9:00 pm. Interment is in St. Stanislaus cemetery , Chatsworth. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the charity of your choice if you should so desire.

Predeceased by wife Daisy. Resting at Serenity Funeral Home, Monday from 2-5 and 7-10 and Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-10. Funeral Service to take place from the Zion United Church on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the United Church cemetery , Collins Cove. Later deceased, his wife Mary, November 11, 1998. Leaving to mourn one daughter, Pauline (Trevor) Jones, Nanaimo, British Columbia; two sons: Walter and Gary (Dorothy), both of St. John`s; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; also a large number of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service for George Frederick Oates will take place on Saturday, September 18, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church and cemetery , Freshwater, Carbonear. Visitation at Caul`s Sunday and Monday between 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral from St. Patrick`s Church on Tuesday, July 31 for mass at 1 p.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre cemetery . BROWN, William (Bill) Crocker, B. Eng. - (McGill) 1941 (Born St. John`s, Newfoundland). Suddenly at home in Ottawa, Ontario on July 25, 2001, aged 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Cherry (Maunder) Brown and loving father of Allan (Kathy) of Toronto, Carol (John Stairs) of Oakville, Don (Lorraine) of Ottawa and Ross (Toni) of Kanata. Devoted grandfather of Matthew, Christopher, Lisa and Emily Stairs; Jeffrey, Jennifer and Andrew Brown; and Victoria and Alexander Tothill-Brown. Survived by brothers Robert (Doris) of St. Catharines and Donald of Toronto, and sister Marion (Wilf Moore) of St. Catharine`s. Predeceased by his sister Margaret (Pushie) of St. John`s. Lovingly remembered by many relatives in Newfoundland, Ontario and the United States. While still an Engineering student at Memorial University, Bill designed such diverse items as the drainage systems, hangars and runways for Gander Airport and the first refueling barge for Trans-Atlantic flying boats. Following graduation from McGill, Bill enlisted as a Captain in the Canadian Army Signals and supervised wartime design, production, and installation of badly needed Radar in Canada and overseas. After the war, he continued his pioneering Radar work with the National Research Council (M-50), where he later led expanded research efforts into Infrared and Mammography, as well as early computers and their applications (including computer-aided learning speech analysis, and multi-media integration, especially the original touch-sensitive computer terminal). Bill completed his long and distinguished career at NRC in 1978 but continued to serve on committees in support of computer-assisted learning projects. Visitation will be at Hulse, Playfair, and McGarry Funeral Home, St. Laurent Chapel, 1200 Ogilvie Road, on Sunday, July 29, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Rothwell United Church, 42 Sumac Street, Gloucester, on Monday, July 30 at 2 p.m., with interment to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, In Memoriam donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Memorial University of St. John`s, Newfoundland, would be sincerely appreciated.
