SPARKES, Jason Raymond — passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, Jason Raymond Sparkes, age 29 years. Leaving to mourn his sad loss loving and devoted wife Tamara (nee Roche); special son, Jordan who will miss Dad with all his heart; also will be sadly missed by his mother Georgie Andrews; father: Ray Sparkes (wife Dianne); sisters: Gina Hall (Sean), North Carolina and Gillian Sparkes (Scott), Florida; mother-in-law: Bernadette Corcoran; aunts and uncles: Ed and Peggy Andrews, Jean and Chuck Keats, Sandra and Steve Froggett, Gerry and Margie Sparkes, Cec and Cheryl Cooper, Cathy and John Dinn; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service from George Street United Church on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted.

Henderson, Dr. Charles Steward
Henderson, Dr. Charles Stewart: Died suddenly of a heart attack at his home on September 1st 2004 at the age of 54. Left to mourn are his parents, Dr. Charles and Ruth Henderson; sister Dorothy Ann; brother Dr. Kenneth (Cheryl) of Fredericton, NB.; niece Barbara and nephews Adam and Andrew of Toronto; also left to mourn many friends and relatives in St. John’s and Nova Scotia. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. Visitation Thursday, September 2nd 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from Carnell’s Chapel at 2 p.m. on September 4th 2004. Followed by interment at the General Protestant cemetery, Old Topsail Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

SIMMONS, Clarence G. — passed away on Thursday, September 02, 2004 at the Health Sciences Complex, Clarence Simmons, of St. John's, age 57 years. Predeceased by his mother Edna Simmons. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife Daphne; daughter Zanesha; father James; sister Jane Stone (Clifford); mother-in-law Bessie; brothers-in-law Wayne Smith and Barry Smith (Sue); sister-in-law Connie Smith (Michael Covin) and son Matthew; nephews: Wayne Stone (Arlene) and daughter Larissa; Gregory Stone (Shadi). Also leaving to mourn his son Jaison; other relatives and a large circle of friends and co-workers. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army St. John's West Corps, Mundy Pond on Sunday, September 05, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Salvation Army cemetery, Blackmarch Road. MOORES, Emily (Emmie) Beatrice — Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, after a short illness, Emmie Moores, age 82 years, formerly of Pouch Cove. Predeceased by her husband John, December 1985. Leaving to mourn her loss and cherish her memory, daughter Lorraine (Harvey); son Wally (Mary); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also her dear and devoted companion Ross Noseworthy and his family; sister-in-law Hazel Noseworthy and special cousin Shirley Noseworthy; her nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday and Friday from 12:00 noon to 9 p.m. Funeral service from All Saint's Church, Pouch Cove on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at All Saints Anglican cemetery, Pouch Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to All Saint's Anglican Church cemetery Fund.

Piercey, Albert
Piercey, Albert: passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Center on Saturday, August 28, 2004, Albert Piercey, aged 58 years. Predeceased by his father Woodrow. Left with fond and loving memories his mother Elma; daughters: Jody (Roger) Cooper, Janine (Tony) Hookey and their mother Bernice; three precious grandchildren: Samantha, Joanne and Gordon; sisters: Mary Tippett of Little Catalina, Joyce (Rodger) Randell of Meadows; many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place with a memorial service to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lupus Canada, 18 Crown Steel Drive, Suite 209, Markham, Ontario L3R 9X8.

SNOW, Rev. Bert Boyd — Passed peacefully away on August 27, 2004, Rev. Bert Boyd Snow in his 92nd year. Leaving to mourn his wife of 61 years, Molly (Mews); seven children: David (Bernadette), Margaret (Chris) Knott, Peter (Heather), Lorraine (Matthew) Churchill of Corner Brook, Carolyn (Craig) Johnston of Calgary, Alberta, Kenneth and Kathryn (Gary) Kennedy; 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 10-12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Monday, August 30, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from George Street United Church. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant cemetery. No flowers by request, donations in his memory to the Victorian Order of Nurses would be valued by the family to help express their gratitude for the great help and care they provided.

FORBES, Charles Andrew (Bucky) WWII Veteran, Member of 166th Newfoundland Field Regiment, Royal Artillery– Passed peacefully away at the DVA Veterans Pavilion on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, Charles Andrew Forbes, aged 84 years. Predeceased by brothers Arthur, Alexander, David and Ralph (WWII Veteran); brother-in-law Phill Mathena; two sisters-in-law Irene and Emma Forbes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Henrietta (Babe); daughter Bonnie (Ray) Franey; son Zane Charles; grandchildren: Charlene, Jenelle, Kayla, Dustin and Dylan; sisters: Helen (Bob) Hagge, USA, Ruth Mathena, USA, Robert, Toronto, ON and sister in law Shirley, Burlington, ON. Special Thank you to the staff at the DVA Pavilion. Pike, Isobel Ferguson: Passed peacefully away on Sunday, October 17th, 2004, at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home, Isobel Pike, aged 91 years. Was predeceased by her husband William. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her daughters Georgina (Bill) Jones and Isobel (Joseph) Murphy. Seven precious grandchildren Bill (Elizabeth) Ploughman, Robert (Linda) Ploughman, Kristan Ploughman, Kenneth Ploughman, Lisa (Patrick) Ferguson, Ian (Joanne) Baird and Kirsten (Gary) Davis. Seven great-grandchildren, two special nieces Sandra Manning and Lesley Ann Hickey, nephew Jim Ryan and their families along with special friends. Heartfelt thanks to the staff on 3200 Southview at Agnes Pratt Home for their compassion and care to our mother and family.
