LeClair, E. Joan (nee Tilley); Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Friday, January 7, 2005, E. Joan LeClair (nee Tilley), twenty- three days shy of her 80th birthday. Predeceased by her husband Harold (Hal), father and mother Dave and Jessie Tilley, brother David Tilley and brother-in-law Theodore (Ted) Barnes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sisters Florence Gillingham (Jack), Kelligrews and Daphne Barnes, Mount Pearl; brother Bruce Tilley (Elizabeth), Kelligrews. Also leaving to mourn are brother-on-law Robert LeClair (Doreen), Selkirk, Manitoba; sisters-in-law Lauretta Allen (Ted), Freelton, Ontario and Leona Christianson, Selkirk, Manitoba; a large number of dear nieces, nephews great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, her special friend Teresa Lawrence and many other friends in St. John’s, Selkirk, Winnipeg, Freelton, Parry Sound, Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton and Sylvan Lake. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 freshwater Road on Saturday from 8-10 pm, Sunday from 2-10 pm and Monday from 10 am-2 pm. Funeral service to take place on Monday January 10, 2005 at 2:00 pm from The Carnell Memorial Chapel with cremation to follow. Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 11:00 am in The Field of Honor, Mount Pleasant cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

ELLIOTT, H. Lenora 'Len' (nee Touzel) — Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Friday, January 07, 2005, Lenora Elliott formerly of Harbour Breton in her 102nd year. Predeceased by her husband William. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughters: Ida Squires (Gerald) and Dodi Brown (Wilson); beloved grandchildren: Rhonda Thornley (Philip), Rhona Oldford (Brian), Rosalind Squires-Briffit (Brian), Yvonne Fleming (James), Stephanie Verge (Bill) and Elliott Lawrence (Lana); cherished great-grandchildren: Annette, Angela and Andrew Thornley, Christopher and Matthew Oldford, Zachary Wiseman, Madison-Lee and Dawson Lawrence; other relatives and friends, especially the residents and staff of the Hoyles Escasoni Complex. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, January 10, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Augustine's Anglican Church with interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery, Kenmount Road. Burke, Sandra
Passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 09, 2005 at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex, Sandra Jean Burke, age 50 years. Leaving to mourn cherished daughter and son: Krista and Michael; her loving parents Hubert and Dorothy Ash; brother, Wayne (Janet); sister, Dianne Penney (Darrell); aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Special thank-you to the staff of 2-North at the Hoyles for their caring and support. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, Westerland Rd. Cremation to follow. Zagorski, Dr. Michael
ZAGORSKI, Dr. Michael A. — Age 63 years of St. John's, Newfoundland. Died on January 16, 2005. He was born in Chicago on April 17, 1941. He was the son of the late Michael and Virginia Zagorski of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, USA. He is the brother of William (Sharon) Zagorski and Sister Jean Paul Zagorski, SSND, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the uncle of Nick, Ben and Sam Zagorski and great uncle of Alyssa and Nickolas Jr. Michael was a retired professor at Memorial University, St. John's, NL. He was a member of the music groups Fusion and Black Auks. To honor and celebrate the life of this gifted and gentle man, relatives and friends may visit Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service of thanksgiving will be held on Friday, January 21, 2005 at 2:00 from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow.

Doyle, Maxwell Francis
DOYLE, Maxwell “Max” F.: It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Maxwell Francis Doyle who died on January 17, 2005 at the age of 64. Max served in the Royal Canadian Navy for a number of years. He was a kind and caring individual who always had compassion for others. During his journey through life he developed many friendships and touched many loves. Left to mourn are his wife Mary; his sons: Joe (Barb), Steve (Mary), Larry, Greg, Max, James and John (Jennifer); his daughters: Angela (Melvin), Barbara (Scott), Anne Marie and Christine (Bernie). Also lovingly remembered by his 9 beloved grandchildren; brothers: Joey, Jimmy, Johny, Michael, Paddy, Edward Peter and Gilbert; sisters: Lorraine, Helen, Agnes, Theresa and Laura and their families as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Walter in 1971 and son Walter Jr. in 1988. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters Lorna Jamieson (Bas) and Ida Dowden (Joe); beloved grandchildren: Janet Smith, Joanne Dowden, Jacquie Murphy (Gerard) Paul Dixon (Sherry) and Kim Dowden (Ron Gollop); cherished great-grandchildren: Stephen, Corey and Alicia Smith, Jeremy Dixon, Andrew and Meghan Murphy. Pearl, George (Shirley), Goulds, Duncan (Gail), St. John's; grandchildren: Rhonda Maher (Mike), Rayleen Hogan (Tom), Colette, Jennifer and Duncan Hart; three great-grandsons: Jordan, Jared and Jesse; sisters: Nickie Smith and Peg McCarthy; brothers and sisters-in-law from the Hart and Reid families. Dale, Almon
DALE, Almon Thomas: Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family on Monday, December 06, 2004 Almon Thomas Dale age 72 years. A long time employee of CN Telecommunications. In his retirement Almon embarked on a very adventurous second career as an international elections observer and peace verification official. This contribution to foreign countries in their pursuit of democracy clearly defined him as a true Canadian. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories and a wealth of knowledge and strength his wife Betty (nee Dinn); daughters: Virginia (Wayne Halley), St. John’s; Debbie (Brian Decker), St. John’s; Roberta (Carl McLean) Nunavut; Annette (Bernard Michelin), Labrador; son Allan (Janet) PEI; grandchildren: Sara and Laura Halley; Michael Decker; Colin and Victoria McLean; George Michelin (the Labrador Man); Olivia and Thomas Dale; brother Byron Dale (Renatta), Germany; brother-in-law Ronald Dinn (Ethel); sister-in-law Mary Earles; a large circle of relatives and friends nationally and internationally. Special thank you to the Doctors and Staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, 4th Floor South Health Sciences Center and the Palliative Care Unit. The kindness, care and respect afforded our family at this very difficult time was greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place. GULLIVER, Alice (nee Young): Passed peacefully away after a short illness at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on December 06, 2004, Alice Young Gulliver, age 91 years. Predeceased by Pearce Gulliver; infant son James and son Errol. Leaving to mourn son David (Linda); daughter-in-law Shirley Gulliver; grandchildren Errol (Linda), Betty Lou Godden (Herb), Tony (Joanne), Peter (Andrea), Perry (Ros), Paul (Brenda), Pearce (Sharon), Sherry Riche (Paul); great grandchildren: Tracey, Stephanie, Brandon, Michael, Jessica, Joshua, Karla, Krista, David, Holly, Kayla; great-great grandchild Alicia; close friend Mary Burke; many special nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
