ADAMS-AUSTIN, Florence — Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, Florence Adams-Austin, age 69 years. Predeceased by her parents Eli and Frances Lewis, brother: William Lewis. Leaving to mourn loving husband of 37 years, William; daughters: Phyllis Parrell (Jeff) and Suzette Little (Maurice); sons: David, Randy (Bernadine), Don (Maxine) and Jim (Sandra); twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother: Ralph; five sisters: Mary LeShane (Bill), Mary Wallace (Doug), Judy Abbott (Don), Maureen Pearce (Harold) and Lorna Squires (Clayton); other relatives and a large circle of friends. Cremation has taken place at Florence's request. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Rd. Interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. No flowers by request, donations in Florence's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
SHARPE, Eileen
SHARPE, Eileen Ina (formerly Squires, nee Clarke) of St. Philip’s: passed away on March 20, 2005, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, Eileen Ina Sharpe, aged 90 years. Predeceased by her first husband Arthur Squires 1946 and their five children: Arthur 1936; Ina 1940, Rose 1941, Cecil 1946, and Rita 1947; second husband Stephen Sharpe 1998; stepson Errol Sharpe 2005. Left to celebrate her life and mourn her passing: Stephen Jr. (special daughter-in-law Madge); Della Martin (Harry), Ontario; stepchildren: Viola Squires, Stephen Tucker (Barbara); foster son Robert Squires (Hilda), Ontario; step daughter-in-law Shirley; brother Lindberg (Betty); sisters Thelma Somerton, Sybil Druken; half-brother Wallace Clarke (Georgie); half-sister Elizabeth Gosse (Cal); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Throughout her lifetime, some of Eileen’s happiest hours were spent helping and serving others. Her life was enriched not only by her care of Waterford Hospital patients, but also by her many years of service to her church (including as organist for over 50 years, and treasurer), the LOBA (Provincial Grand Mistress), the St. Philip’s Seniors Sunshine Club (founding President), the Provincial Pensioners and Senior Citizen’s Federation (Secretary) and to many other charities and service organizations. All are better for having her touch their lives. Leaving to mourn his loving son Edmund Graham (Kathleen) Phelan; nephews Eugene, Douglas and John Fierrio and their families in the United States, William (Sharon) Graham of W. Predeceased by son George Jr., 1973; husband George, 1975; son Bill, 1982 and sister Blanche Chancey, 2003. Leaving with joyful memories four sons and five daughters: Fred (Ella), David (Theresa - predeceased), Roy (Blanche), Bruce (Mary), Jean Hudson (Dave), Ruby Lindstrom (Eric), Joyce Rose (Max), Gail Dempsey (Erin) and Linda Best (Ben); two daughters-in-law: Josephine and Alice; thirty-one grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren; also special friend Marie Young.
