KING, Ernest John (Ernie) — Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, February 2, 2005, Ernest John King, age 54 years. Predeceased by father, Ernest Sr. Leaving to mourn wife Lynn (Barnes); daughters: Valarie Malone and Jennifer Malone; his mother Alma King (Cooper); four brothers: Robert (Kelly), Randy (Karen), Roger and Richard (Gail); sister Anne (Mike); also other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. Thursday; 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass will be held from St. Kevin's R.C. Church, Goulds on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Kevin's R.C. cemetery, Goulds. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

MacLaughlin, Dr. Edward
MacLaughlin, Edward Aidan – Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Sunday, January 30th, 2005, Aidan MacLaughlin, born on May 21st, 1925 in Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland. He came to St. John’s, Newfoundland in November, 1953, and practiced Radiology in Newfoundland for 50 years. During his medical career he served as Chief of Staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, and as Chairman of Radiology and Assistant Dean at the School of Medicine, Memorial University. Predeceased by parents Edward and Anna MacLaughlin, brother Dr. James MacLaughlin of Los Angeles, CA. and by sister Mary Johnson of Dublin, Ireland. Leaving to mourn: his loving wife Ismay; daughters Karen Coates (Conan), St. John’s, Deirdre (Cabot), St. John’s, Ismay Bligh (Peter), Wolfville, NS; sons Shane, Toronto, ON, James (Patti), Toronto, ON, and Brendan, Vancouver, BC; sisters Dr. Eithne Knowling, St. John’s, and Anne Dorey, Southampton, UK, in-laws Maude MacLaughlin, Los Angeles, CA; Val and Anne Browne, Wicklow, Ireland, June and Ivor Browne, Dublin, Ireland; grandchildren Andrew, Christopher and Brendan Coates, Mathew, David and Sarah Bligh, Christina MacLaughlin and Erika MacLaughlin; many nieces and nephews in Ireland, the UK, Vancouver and California; and many good and close friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. Visitation on Monday, January 31st, 7-9 p.m., and Tuesday, February 1st, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005, at 1 p.m. from St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Hancock, Alexander
HANCOCK, Alexander Francis — (Retired Teacher). passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2005, Alexander Francis Hancock. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Cecilia (nee Brown); daughters: Rosalind, with whom he resided and Margaret Best (Bill) of Vancouver, BC; beloved grandchildren: Adam Best and Ryan Best (fianc e Tara Jewer). Also leaving to mourn are his two brothers and five sisters and their families, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, January 27, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of St. Mary The Virgin Church with interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery, Kenmount Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Newfoundland and Labrador Retired Teachers Foundation for Children's Charities.

Rogers, Caroline
ROGERS, Caroline V. (Carrie) - The death occurred at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. in her 90th year. She will forever be remembered by her son Wayne (New Glasgow, NS); grandchildren Pamela (Liverpool, NS), Christopher (Corner Brook) and their mother Barbara (Corner Brook); special friend Maude Peach; sister Viti Taylor (Dollard Des Ormeaux, PQ) and a number of nieces and nephews. Cremation has already taken place. A service of Celebration and Holy Communion will take place at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Military Road, Monday, January 31, 2005, 11:00 a.m. with Canon John Paul Westin officiating. Committal will be in the family plot, Anglican cemetery, Forest Road immediately followed by a reception at Canon Wood Hall, Military Road. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice, St. Thomas’ Anglican Church or St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation.

Taylor, W. Hammond
Taylor, W. Hammond: Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on July 5, 2009, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his parents Mary Grace and William Taylor and brothers Don and Bert. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Ruby; daughter, Vonita; brother, Arthur (Mildred); sisters: Lillian and Gladelle (Ivar); sister-in-law, Malviny (Roy); nieces, nephews as well as other relatives, friends and especially the Deaf Community. Special thanks are extended to Dr. B. Tompkins and the Nursing Staff at the L.A. Miller Centre. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Adam’s Avenue with interment to follow at the Salvation Army cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. Stacey, Edna
Edna Stacey: passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Hospital on August 1, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by her husband Arch Stacey (1981) and daughter Laura Griffis (1973) and son-in-law Bernard Long (2001.) Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughter Nita Long and son Lewis Stacey (daughter-in-law Ann); sadly missed by thirteen grandchildren; Gary (Lena), Rick (Rena), Eddie (Claudia), David (Sharon), Beverly (Lenny), Valerie (Bob), Janet (Ken), Linda, Karen (Dean) Leonard (Kelly), Laura (Chris), Stephen (Lisa) and Greg; along with 15 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters Elizabeth Eustace and Ina Heale; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Also, heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ruby Manor for their loving care where she resided for the past three years. Resting at Carnell’s funeral home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m.- 9 p.m. Monday at 10 a.m. - 12 noon Tuesday. Funeral service on Tuesday August 4, 2009 at 2 p.m. from St. Thomas’s Anglican Church. Interment to follow in the Anglican cemetery, Kenmount Road. Churchill, Eliza: passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Complex, Eliza Churchill (June 18, 1915 – July 30, 2009) age 94 years. Leaving to mourn five daughters, Valeda, Barb (Bob), Portugal Cove, Kay Codner (Arch), Torbay, Harriett Alcock (Rev. Gary), Ontario, Mildred Youden (Jim), CBS; two sons, Cyril (Ann), Edward (Pam), nineteen grandchildren, twentyfour great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Dinn, St. John’s, Gladys Codner, Torbay, Mary Ann Bugden (Paradise), one brother Gerald Miller (Portugal Cove), two sister-in-laws, Maureen Miller, Maisie Miller, Portugal Cove, son-in-law, Kevin Putt also a large circle of neices, nephews, cousins and friends. Resting at her family residence, 31 Farm Road, Portugal Cove on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove on Monday, August 03, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at St. Lawrence Anglican cemetery, Bauline Line. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Lawrence Anglican Church Building Fund.

Anne Moulton (nee Strickland) Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at her residence in the presence of her loving family, Anne Moulton, aged 75 years. Predeceased by her husband Arthur, parents Simeon and Bertha Strickland, sister Marjorie. Left to cherish her memory, son Larry (Karen), daughter Patti Gauley (Perry); six grandchildren: Michelle Gilbert (Dexter), Maria (Jimmy Casey), Melissa, Craig and Christopher Moulton; Kayla Gauley; three great-grandchildren: Samuel, Lily and Anna; brothers: Hubert (Harriet, deceased) and Claude (Joyce). Special thanks to Winston Gillingham, Ivan Pack, Yvonne Grant and Margaret Maloney for the care and support shown to our “Mom” during her good and bad times. Family will be receiving visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday, July 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Westerland Road on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Anglican cemetery, Kenmount Road. HALL, John Stuart Jr. — passed away at the Palliative care unit, October 14, 2007. John Hall Jr. aged 36. Beloved son of Kay and Jack. Also leaving to mourn his sisters Debbie (Peter); Elizabeth (George); Jacqueline (Phillip) and Sushu, uncles Fred (Beryl); Gerald (Jeanette) and Derek, aunts Mona and Shirley. Special friends Tracey, Natelle, GayLynne. Many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Visitation is being held at Carnells Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, October 15 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Church on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery on Kenmount Road. Organ, William Patrick
ORGAN, William Patrick: passed away suddenly at his residence in St. John’s on October 14, 2007 after a short illness, William Organ, age 76 years. Leaving to mourn his wife Kay; son Jim (Dianne), JoAnn (Al Williams) and Janet (Kevin Battcock); two grandchildren Michael and Allison Organ; sisters Margaret Kirsebom (Peter), Louise O’Grady (Frank, deceased); Mary Maddigan (Courtney) and Elizabeth Moore (Leo, deceased) and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside committal service to follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery.

COLLINS, A. Lorraine (nee Moore): passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007, aged 82 years. Predeceased by husband Chesley and son Chesley. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter, Linda (Ed) Roberson; son, Larry; grandchildren: Lori (Andrew) Moore, Adam Collins, Jonathan Collins, Robert Linhart and Michelle (Robert) Gordon; brother, Kevin Patrick Moore; special sister-in-law, Rachel Bastow; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. No visitation at her request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Carnell’s Funeral Home.
