Predeceased by baby sisters: Brenda and Anne; brothers: Philip and wife Delores and Thomas. Leaving to mourn five loving children: Stephen (Faye) of Florida, Irwin (Gail), Gwen Steele (Bill), Brenda Wilson (Curt) of Fredericton and Paula Dooley (Gerry); eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also leaving to mourn brother Robert (DVA); sisters: Betty Duff (Don deceased), Anita Kenny (Austin), Paula Moore (Ottawa); sister-in-law: Betty Moore (Ottawa); as well as a large circle of family and friends. MARTIN, Murdo — Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, November 3, 2007, Murdo Martin aged 79 years. Veteran of the Merchant Marines and long-standing member of the Masonic Fraternity. Predeceased by his parents, father Norman and mother Catherine of Aird, Scotland and brother William Martin of Garrosbost, Scotland. Leaving to mourn, loving wife Eva (nee Anstey) sons, Douglas (Florence) Donald (Diane), Robert (Janet). Daughters, Catherine, Norma and Linda. 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. One brother Donald Martin (Margaret) of Knock Scotland. Sister Etta Macleod of Stornoway, Scotland, and sister-in-law TeenAnne Martin of Garrosbost, Scotland. Life long friend Gladys Pidgen (nee Elliot) and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Leaving to mourn her daughters: Elsie Hussey (Fred), Jean Kelly (Michael), Marilynn Rodden (James); her precious grandchildren: David Hussey (Gina), Pamela O’Rourke (wife of grandson Scott Hussey, deceased); Cindy Krasinkiewicz (Chris), Craig Kelly (Donna), Andrew Kelly (Suanne), Judy Batten (David), William Benson (Angela), Jimmy Rodden, Kerri Rodden (fiancé David), Robert Rodden (Danika); fourteen great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Melina Benson; as well as a large number of other relatives and close friends. STOODLEY, Robert Lloyd– Passed peacefully away on Monday, November 5, 2007, at the Health Sciences Centre. Born in Grand Bank in 1938. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Myrtle; his eldest daughter, Janet. Lloyd is lovingly remembered by his daughters: Donna Ivany (Peter) and Karen Spracklin (Ron); his son Robert; his four grandsons: Joshua Efford, Daniel and Michael Spracklin and Andrew Ivany. Lloyd’s special friends: Marilyn, George and Andrew will remember him fondly, along with a large circle of family and friends. He loved music, animals (especially his dog and horses) but most of all his precious grandsons. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Pope, William Egbert – Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre, William Egbert Pope in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his parents and three sisters. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Vivian of 59 years; his six children: Wayne (Shirley), Keith (Patsy), Sharon Saunders (Eugene), Gail McCarthy, Gary (Liz) and Heather Bugler; also eleven grandchildren: Darryl, Andrea, Suzanne, Matthew, Mitchell, Bobby and Stephen Pope, Melissa Saunders, Ashley and Joshua McCarthy, Zachary Bugler; also a large number of other relatives and close friends. Fanny Hudson (Gordon - deceased), Pouch Cove, Doris Beachian (Ralph), Ontario, sister-in-law Dora Moore, St. John’s. Bertha Legrow, Torbay, Mable Legrow, St. John’s, and brother-in-law Arthur Gardner, Ontario. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. MERRIGAN, Beatrice– Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre, on Monday, November 5, 2007, age 91 years. Beatrice was the devoted wife of James (1983) and mother of Eleanor (2002) and Anthony (2007), husband of Joan. She will be greatly missed by her sons: James (Bessie) and Terry (Claire); her daughters: Catherine O’Reilly (Terry), Theresa Rowsell (Glenn), and Pauline Shields (David) and her beloved grandchild Kelly-Anne Smith (Edward). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jamie, Paul, David, Vicki, Erin, Terri Lynn, Christopher, Ian, Michael, Katrijne, Klaartje and Merrigan; her great-grandchildren: Ella and Emily; Jamie, Daley, Isaac and Alexander; Caleb and Tolkien; and Julia. Beatrice leaves behind a wide circle of relatives and friends. Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who filled her days with good company and tender care. A very special word of thanks is due to Dr. Essaji for his gentleness, the Duggan and Furey families for their many kind attentions, her friends at Meadowland for their unfailing friendship, and the staff of the Palliative Care Centre for their kindness and dedication. NASH, Caroline E. (nee Rideout): Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 Caroline E. Nash aged 85 years, formerly of Pass Island, Hermitage Bay. Left to cherish her memory are her five sons: Tom (Jean), Ed (June), Bert (Linda), Gordon (Sandra) and Ross (Michele); loving daughter, Ann (André); thirteen grandchildren: Renee, Jennifer, Jill, Sara, Rebecca, Jessica, Gordon, Michael, Paula, Jason, Billy, Spencer and Julien; six great-grandchildren: Amber, Jacob, Garrett, Carter, Samuel and Moira; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and very good friends too numerous to mention. ROBERTS, Doyle Clayton– Originally of Grand Falls, passed peacefully away, November 13, age 77. Predeceased by his beloved wife Joyce and precious daughter Kathryn and leaving to forever cherish his life with them are daughters: Carol (John), Nancy (Shane) and son Michael (Alana); sisters: Bernice (Gerald) and Barbara (Calvin) and sisters-in-law: Shirley and Marie; grandchildren: Kerstin, Heidi, John, Benjamin, Hayley, Zackary, Jennifer and Jacob, who loved their “Gramps” beyond all earthly measure.
