Warren, Harvey James (formerly of Corner Brook). It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Harvey at the Health Sciences Centre on August 20, 2010 at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Lucy (Burton) Warren and brother, Heber. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Barbara; daughters Debbie (Dan) Jarrell, Calgary and Lana (Derek) Greenslade, Conception Bay South; six loving grand children Nicholas and Mark Morrissey, Calgary, AB., Nicole, Megan, Angela and Hayley, CBS; and special great-granddaughter Hailey, Calgary, AB.; sister Frances Powell, Lewisporte; special sister-in-law, Doris (John) Synard; brothers-in-law Gus (Eliz) Hodder, and Terry (Barb) Hodder, St. Bernard’s; sisters-in-law Regina Koski, USA, Edith Sutton, Trepassey and Stella Hodder, St. Bernard’s, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, August 21 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service to celebrate Harvey’s life will take place on Sunday August 22, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Passed peacefully away at St. Clares Mercy Hospital August 20, 2010 surrounded by her loving family, Vera Maria Johnson, Aged 81 years. Predeceased by her first husband Wesley Thorne; two children, Wayne and Geraldine Maria; two brothers, Ray and Richard; one sister Kathleen. Leaving to mourn with precious memories husband Morgan Johnson of 18 years; one sister Leone; sister-in-law and dear friend Floss; four children; Patsy (Bob) Matthews, Jim (Alice) Thorne, Dr. Ken (Patricia) Thorne, Gary (Kim) Thorne; six grandchildren who she adored very much. Debbie, Bobbie, Tracy, Jamie, Allison and Nicolas; seven darling great-grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha, Jacqueline, Mehan, Emily, Matthew and Payton. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Friday, August 20th, 2010, Doris Elsie Sweetapple, age 80. Predeceased by husband - William; and daughter - Linda; siblings – Les, Cyril, Rita, Chesley, and Charles. Left with fond and loving memories are her children – Christine Sweetapple, Terry Sweetapple (Charlene); siblings – Harold (Jean), Wallace (Joan) and Marjorie (Harrisson); sister-in-law – Kay; and special friend – Jerry and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Squires, Hubert Jacob
SQUIRES, Hubert Jacob, PhD DSc: of St. Philip's, born March 11, 1918, marine biologist and author, died peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on September 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Hope Starks; his children: Craig, Stephanie and her son Julian, Jeremy and partner Karen Pike; his remaining sibling, Mathilda Crosby of Utah. Hubert leaves many friends and relatives in the Starks and Squires families and longtime friend and colleague Gil Tucker. There will be no funeral services. Hubert had a particular interest in the educational programs of Plan Canada (Foster Parents Plan). Those who wish to honor his life with a donation may do so at www.plancanada.ca.

TUCKER, Caroline (nee Sharpe): passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 Caroline Tucker aged 83. Predeceased by husband, Moses; father, George; mother, Sophie; step-mother, Reecie; brother, George; sister, Edith, step-brother, David; daughter-in-law, Virginia; and grandson, Little Clayton. Leaving to mourn her nine sons: Moses (Linda), Clayton, Wayne (Marie), Clarence (Betty), Derek (Patti), Kevin, Harvey (Cynthia), Andrew (Debbie), Guy (Donna); her one and only daughter, Lorraine; sister Rita; step-sister, Myrtle; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends and relatives as well as her card playing buddies. Mother was tough as nails and feisty to the end. She will be missed by all of us.
