Warren, Roger K. Sr.

WARREN, Roger K — passed peacefully away at his residence in Mount Pearl on July 8, 2011 in the presence of his family, Roger Warren, age 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 60 years Nellie; daughters Sandra Hillyer (John Ryan), Barbara Taylor (Wayne); sons Peter (Dorothy), Chris (Marilyn) and Roger (Sharon); brothers Frank and David Warren; sisters Barbara Richards, Joyce Joyce, Sybil Potter; sister-in-law Gladys Hibbs; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, July 11 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Carnell Memorial chapel on Monday, July 11 at 4 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice or Faith Memorial United Church, Florenceville, NB E0J 1K0 (506) 392-6107

Chafe, Cecil Roy

CHAFE, Cecil Roy: Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on July 6, 2011, Cec Chafe of Goulds, age 75, surrounded by his loving wife Philomena and family. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Hazel; sister, June Earle; father and mother-in-law James and Mary Finn and brother-in-law, James Finn Jr. Leaving to mourn his loving wife and best friend of 49 years, Philomena (Finn); sons: Paul (Lisa), Roy (Ethyl), Brian (Allison), Dean (Tracey); daughters: Ann Marie Warford (Gordon), Darlene (Glenn Williams); 10 cherished grandchildren: Matthew, Alyssa, Nicholas, Laura, Chelsey, Rebecca, Joshua, Cameron, Kyle and Nathan; brothers: Bill (Beth), Albert (Regina), Max (Gail); sisters: Greta Reid (Grover-deceased), Edna Hudson (Wilson), Joan (George Chafe), Dot Heffernan (Philip-deceased), Louise, Gladys Weir (Ron-deceased), Mabel and special friend of the family Aunt Vera Chafe; ten sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law Mike Finn and one sister-in-law Ivy Finn as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday July 8 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from The Carnell Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Autism Society of Newfoundland.

Kielley, Mary Ruth

KIELLEY, Mary Ruth: Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, July 5, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre, Mary Ruth Keilley, widow of the late Francis (Kip) Kielley; daughter of the late Munroe and Elizabeth Bishop. Left to mourn her passing are her cousin Harold Megann and wife Rose Marie; also many nieces and nephews in the Kavanagh, Keilley and O’Reilly families and many dear friends in the Nursing Profession. A very special thank you to all the nurses and staff of the neurology unit for their professional and compassionate care. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Church. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Hayes, Kayleigh Catherine

Sent down from the heavens above to watch over Daddy and Mommy and to make them stronger, Kayleigh accomplished just that and went home to the angels on July 4, 2011 at the age of 3 weeks. Leaving to mourn her loving Mommy, Melissa Hayes and Daddy, Shawn Wheeler; grandparents Kelly Hayes and Jim and Catherine Wheeler; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation will follow. Funeral service to take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Kayleigh’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Babb, Virginia Anne

BABB, Virginia Anne: Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 29, 2011, in her 86th year, Virginia Anne Babb. Predeceased by her husband Leo Babb.Left to cherish her memory are sisters-in-law: Rita (Babb), Mary (Babb), Maude (Babb) and Jane Dowding as well as a number of other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday from 10-12 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Case, Amos Samuel

CASE, Amos: June 8, 1931- August 29, 2011: Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 29, 2011 in his 80th year at the Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, (Samuel) Amos Case, formerly of Salmon Cove. Leaving to mourn: Clara (Winters), his loving wife of 51 years; three sons, Richard (Valerie), Glenn (Sarah), and Bradley (Hannah); his 5 grandsons and one granddaughter; as well as a brother, two sisters and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service to be held at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Howell, Harry Charles

HOWELL, Harry Charles: Passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 after a lengthy illness and a courageous battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s aged 71 years. Leaving to mourn his sister Gertie Breen (Ed) and brother Clyde (Phyllis); nephews Jason Breen and wife Susan Dieleman (Toronto), Mark Howell (Ottawa), Brad Howell and wife Patricia (Upper Gullies) and half brother Chesley Howell and family. Harry’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to his neighbors on Gosling Street, especially Gerry Houlihan and his good buddy Hubert Hall for their kindness and support throughout their friendship. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A private family committal service will follow later on Wednesday. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Misik, Rosita (nee Schneidhofer)

MISIK (nee Schneidhofer), Rosita - Passed away peacefully in her 96th year, on August 28, 2011 surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Nursing Home. Predeceased by husband, Dr. Karol (Charles) Misik; survived by her loving children: Dr. Karl (Susan) Misik and Tatijana Northrup; grandchildren: Natasha (Stephen) Taylor, Kristina (Peter Allison) Lenehan, Heidi Misik, Kurt Misik (fiancé Heather Joy), their mother Karen (Stentaford) Misik, Anastasia Northrup (fiancé Kyle Russ); great-grandchildren: Magnus and Stefania Taylor, Annabel, Aiden and Evan Lenehan. Rosi will be greatly missed by all her family and friends here in Newfoundland, along with relatives and friends in Austria and Slovakia. A special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at St. Luke's. There will be no visitation. Funeral service to be held at St. Luke's Chapel, Tuesday, August 30th at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Luke's Home online at www.canadahelps.org.
